I think the reason some posters were getting wound up was due to statements like 'Barca have won the race' etc.

Nothing has been decided yet and as you rightly point out nobody knows of his intentions/ preferences.

Believe it or not, there are still some footballers in this world who value their football more than the money.

Phil Jones picked us because he knew the future was bright for him here, despite getting less game time than he would have at Pool or Arse.

I can understand that a player can choose "the best team of all times, with the best players of all times, the best manager of all times, the best supporters of all times, the city with the best sangria of all times (with this I agree)" etc etc...

It's a very silly reason then. If that's the case, accept it, if it's not the case - which we don't know it is, than reserve judgement. Well, judgement aside it doesn't really explain the anger at a statement of Barca winning the race, nor the comments from some which might have just been over-reactions, if they weren't trademark posts from a specific poster.

Having said that, the most obvious decision isn't always the best one, we don't know his preference or what he thinks. We can only hope it's United.

Anyway, I would understand United, Barcelona and Inter... the other two would be strange, especially City (well , then it would be all about the Benjamins).

I think you're missing the point on this one Hectic (at least with regards to me). I know very little about Sanchez to be honest. I've barely seen him play. I think given the hype he'll probably go to Barca. It hardly matters, we have great wingers.

And I think most agree he'll probably choose them. It's just the notion that a player has to be retarded to choose us over another club, be it Real or Barca or Milan, that I personally find very very silly. What's wrong with that? What's wrong with taking a little issue with our club being called so inferior? I don't even care about Sanchez regarding this. I think I've seen him play about two times at the World Cup where I actually wasn't very impressed.

The key word was 'won' the race as though it was a statement of fact.

Not exactly man, when i heard about United after Chicarito i youtubed the shit out of him. His array of goals on the vids led me to claim to my mate, that this lad was gonna be a fecking star. Said mate has yet to apologise for laughing his complete & utter feck out!
 
I think he'll chose United because our home shirt for next season is much nicer than Barca's.

I'm not so sure I am. That's why I highlighted Blairs post and laughed at it, I think it's ridiculous, and the posters and posts I was alluding to was exactly that. I think it's beyond silly to say that he would be retarded to choose us, it's a throwaway comment with no substance behind it, and it's not the first time either.

I think the argument from both sides is premature, given we still hardly know anything, it's pointless to argue who he would rather go too, especially in the manner of some here, where insults are more evident than actual points.

The tensions makin folk jump down throats & some folk are also fecked off at the prospect of him turning us down for Barca. Wish i was as confident of gettin him as i was yesterday, but as someone said stories sell papers & they have to twist it everyday to keep sales up. I also grasped a fair point regarding United being in the driving seat yest, by the Udinese quote that Barca comin along has changed things somewhat. Thats encouraging & if we were in the drivin seat then we wont be too far away from his thoughts when he decides where he wants to play his football!

Incidently, Sanchez apparantly regards Ronnie as the best player ever. Sanchez has that same opportunity to be that good that Ronnie got by coming here. So if he's any sense he'd follow in his footsteps & work under Football God himself - the man who takes a mound & creates a mountain :devil:

Have you really not seen him play?

He was great in the last WC. Himself and Ozil were the two young players that most caught my eye.

I'd be well pissed off if he ended up at City. Pains me watching Silva play in light blue (someone I really thought would be great at United) and could really do without watching them snap up another seriously talented young player.

I guess I must've seen him at the last World Cup but I was traveling around Asia during the time of tournament and as you'd expect, I wasn't exactly in the best "scouting" states when I was watching the games. I only really remembered Ozil because he was such a scary looking little fella, oh and because he raped Gareth Barry in broad daylight.

I seriously doubt he'll end up at City if the stories are true and he has 4 great clubs to choose from, and shitty.
