Alexis Sanchez | Udinese: No Deal Yet

Have you really not seen him play?

He was great in the last WC. Himself and Ozil were the two young players that most caught my eye.

I'd be well pissed off if he ended up at City. Pains me watching Silva play in light blue (someone I really thought would be great at United) and could really do without watching them snap up another seriously talented young player.

No doubt about that, I think I've said previously in the footy forum I rate Silva over Modric. Silva is a sublime footballer and would have suited United alot more than City.

I also agree about Sanchez, if he chooses City over the options of United and Barca then well, he wants his head checked. It's not as if the money is that much different, really when you earn over a hundred thousand a week, what's an extra 20 grand really?

It does seem to make a difference to these guys, it's baffling.

Sir Alex has made an official bid of £30.5million for the Chilean winger Alexis Sanchez. [Gazzetta dello Sport] #MUFC

Before someone says anything i can't find any actual article in the Gazetta dello Sport website..

Today's front page of the Gazzetta. You can see the Sanchez bit on the right, it basically means "Auction for Sanchez, United up offer" (at least according to Football Italia).

The point is that when you're already earning millions a year, that extra bit doesn't really affect your spending power.

It shouldn't but I think its more of a case of social standing within footballers. You know the whole "If he is earning X then i should earn atleast X+5".

Anyway Sanchez I doubt will go for the money. If he did he'll join City. The fact that City aren't favorites suggests he wants more. South American players prefer Spain anyways. Always been the case. Culture, climate, language, style of play etc. I can see him choosing Barca for those reasons.

Over a year an extra 20 grand is a million. So it does make a difference.

But they're already extremely wealthy, a career is forged by trophies and glory, you'll still live be comfortably richer than everyone else.

Perhaps this is idealistic, perhaps footballers are greedy wankers.

True, and to a certain degree it's understandable that a player would want to know he is on a level with similar calibre players. But it's not the only factor, or at least it shouldn't be.

I better get to the airport sharpish.

Walkie-talkie - check.
Binoculars - check.
Comfortable Jeans, which hug the lower leg but have adequate penis room - check.
A sign saying "ARE YOU SANCHEZ IM MUFC" - check.

This thread is now going to explode with muppetry, and then when everyone realises the Marca story is bollocks there will be suicides.

Just at the airport, lad just said to me, "I like your Sanchez sign who is he?"

His sign said "Miss Stones Limo - promise I'm not an axe-wielding murderer."

Dunno if this story is fabricated or not, eitherway, it has to be between us and barca. So I wouldn't rule it out completely.. Still to early to tell.

Sources close to a source of Harry Redknapps source says that Harry said 'triffic' earlier today.

Context unknown.

Cocks out

For all the talk about the benefits of communicating information rapidly through twitter, it seems to do much more harm creating false and rubbish information that is communicated rapidly rather than anything with credibility.
