Alexis Sanchez | Udinese: No Deal Yet

I'm as confused as the next supporter, I can't imagine that we can be considering loosing Nani, he is generally agreed as our most creative player.

I guess we must be cashing in on Berba then?

But why pay £27M for Sanchez as another striking option with Welbeck joining the 1st team (at last)?

What happens to the Rooney/Chico partnership then?

Is Rooney actually the 'new' Scholes then, negating the need for Shneider/Modric/Nasri?

Confused? You will be...

I think Fergie is operating along the same lines he usually does. If he sees someone out there that he believe will be a top class player for us then he will buy them. It doesn't matter if we already have Nani, or if Berbatov goes. If Sanchez is better, and the indications are that he could well for us, then it's tough shit for Nani.

Personally I don't think Sir Alex has faith in Nani. If you're claiming he is our most creative player, but yet wasn't trusted to start in the biggest game last season, then it's obviously that we need better. He's got better, but still most developed the decision making and final ball that's expected of him. His playing acting is cringeworthy. It's a no brainer for me should we sign Sanchez. Young, Valencia, Park, Sanchez.

As for positions then Sanchez will start wide on the left with the licence to come inside, as Ronaldo did, and thus create space for Evra to overlap. We may see Young and Rooney as attacking mids ahead of Carrick or Fletcher.

I think this is all bad news for Anderson.

If signing Sanchez signals the end for someone, which I don't necessarily think it does, perhaps their is a semblance of truth about Nani going to Inter for Sneijder.

----Carrick--Sneijder----
Valencia-Rooney-Sanchez
-------Hernandez--------

feck me.

I've always been a transfer muppet but the more I think of it, the more I come to the conclusion that we should trust Fergie, he sure does have a plan and if it includes buying Sanchez, then who am I to question it? Let's just wait and see.

There's not much muppetry on Sky Sports on Sanchez.

They haven't got a clue what is going on.

A very entertaining thread in here too. I am unfussed whether Sanchez ends up playing for United or not, in SAF I trust. It would make me laugh a lot if it transpires that the player genuinely didn't want to play for City, despite big money being offered.

I actually Young would be a more likely signing or at least one that would fit in with our signings in recent times. That's because we are already strong on the flanks and it's hard to see us spending a huge amount on a position we're already strong in.

The facts of the case are that Gill met with representatives.

The papers are saying this is a done deal at £27m but let's not get our knickers in a twist. I don't know where they get these figures form.

I don't know if Udinese are keen to sell to another Italian team. I suspect they don't give a shit they just want to bid up the price. I think we'll pay for him. I also think he's a United fan.

So still a while to go on this (a whole transfer window).

So we'll wait and see!

Let's look at some facts.

Nani just had his best season to date with us.

Rooney-Hernandez partnership looks very promising.

Welbeck and cleverley coming back from loan.

Already well stocked on the wings.

Rooney enjoying some of his best form playing the deep lying #10 role.

Now tell me why some people on here want to sacrifice pretty much all of that so that we can spunk our transfer budget on Sanchez and leave a large gaping hole in central midfield, already deemed by most as the weakest area of our squad.

Please tell me, because I'm having this discussion with some guys from work and it is annoying me now.

Fully agreed, I don't want Sanchez anywhere near us. I rather we look for box-to-box type of a CM and push Cleverley/Morrison to the flank and rotate with Tony, Nani and Park.

If this transfer occurs, which I have serious doubts about, then I can only suggest that either, Nani is considering his options, SAF doesn't think he is good enough or indeed he thinks this Sanchez boy is that much better.

All of what I have just said is complete muppetry, but, like many have said, this is a strange transfer target at this time. I am convinced that Ashley Young is a done deal and if Sanchez is a target then somebody is leaving.

With regards the CM position, the money will be there for the right player, have no fear about that.

Yeah i have a spare - you can have this one..

Well every media source said that Gill met with Udinese people in Barcelona yesterday.

And I bet you know this but are just being pedantic as there's no photgraphic evidence or what not.

So being "pedantic" is not believing the bullshit that the rags spin on a daily basis?

I don't see anything on the BBC's website. Oh wait, I do. In The GOSSIP Column. I wonder why that is?

Because some players are too special to pass the opertunity of signing.

We sacrificed a world class striker in Van Nistelrooy to bring the best out of Ronaldo. What's to say we're not prepared to make the same sort of sarifice for Sanchez?

Left wing: Pure attacking options; Young, Nani and Sanchez. Defensive minded; Park.

Right wing: Pure attacking options; Sanchez and Nani. Defensive Minded; Valencia.

Forward: Sanchez, Young and Rooney

We seem to be so afraid as United fans to believe that we could have such a strong squad because it's "muppet like" to believe we could keep so many top players happy. We're a squad club now and have proven we can offer planty of games to players over the course of a season so rather than having a second grade replacement to fill in for whoever is injured, with the 25 man sqaud rule it is better to have a top quality replacement or someone that can bring something different to the table.

Ferguson has made it his quest to bring this team up to Barcelona's level. You don't do that by thinking "oh we could never keep that quality player if we signed that quality player".

From yesterday - Sky Sports

Alexis Sanchez's agent insists a deal with Manchester City is not in place, as reports claim that rivals Manchester United are still in for him.

The Chilean international looked to be edging towards a move to City after their president Gino Pozzo confirmed that Roberto Mancini's men were most likely to land him despite interest from Juventus, Inter Milan and Barcelona.

City have reportedly offered Vladimir Weiss as part of the deal, which is believed to have appealed to Udinese, but his agent insists his future is not yet decided.

"An agreement with Manchester City? Sanchez's future is still wide open," Fernando Felicevich told La Gazzetta dello Sport

"We're working on it, after meetings with City, today we will have new appointments."

And one of those meetings is reportedly due to be with United in the Catalan capital, where they will also talk with Barcelona.

It was Gazzetta who originally reported that United representatives met with Udinese in Barcelona yesterday, and they're at least significantly less inclined to make things up than The Sun.

I'd rather we went this way too. Sell Berbatov now, get Sanchez & Young and keep Nani.

Selling Berbatov would also meen Welbeck get the promotion he deserves.

Sell Berba & Diouf.. Loan Welbeck for another season and then bring him back the season after to replace the hopefully outbound Owen..

Rooney, Hernandez, Sanchez, Owen, Macheda.

Yeah. The Italians seem to hate all that tabloid shit-stirring bollox that we have over here. I'll be keeping an eye out for any info from Gazzetta regarding this!

So one minute it is "We never sign anyone, blame the Glazers, we have no money", and the next it is "We don't need X player, we have too many".

Sometimes you just can't win!
