Seen as the perfect replacement for Scholes? Where do these journalists get this kind of shit from?

^^ I guess they are getting it from the quality and range of his passing game.

It's Alive! It's Alive!

Frankenmuppet!

We should have pulled out all the stops last Summer. He's going to go on to be fecking huge.

Nah, he's 5'6 and is not going to grow much now.....oh wait. :D

If Sanchez signs for Barcelona, UEFA might as well give the Champions League to them before the competition begins

I don't understand this kind of thinking, is Sanchez really going to make Barca better than they are already? I can't see him adding anything to what is already the best attacking unit in world football

He'll add pace, dribbling and passing (over Pedro) which are probably the three most potent attacking attributes in the game.

'Sky Sport 24' reports that Sanchez's agent is meeting Real Madrid's leadership today.

From the Udinese website.
Soldati: “No agreement concerning Sanchez to Barcelona”
In regards to the statements which have been attributed to me, regarding a supposed relocation of the Chilean striker Alexis Sanchez to FC Barcelona, I would like to clarify that they are absolutely unsubstantiated. No agreement has been arranged between Udinese Calcio and FC Barcelona and no meeting whatsoever is scheduled to discuss such a relocation.

I don't think this will be sorted until the end of the Copa America which I'm sure Udinese will be wanting him to have a good run in so the price raise another 10 mil.

Has there been anything other that newspaper speculation to suggest we are interested in him?

quotes from either club or SAF, phelan or martin ferguson going to watch him?

Looks like its mostly his agent at work

Understandable from Udinese's point of view, maybe they might need a replacement first and also being in the CL next season they could attract a couple of decent players imo.

Anyhow, Hamsik has been extremely silent this summer, any idea why gambit ?

Hamsik was linked to AC Milan, but Napoli and Hamsik have both come out saying there is no possibility of any move as he has only just completed the first year of his new contract. Manchester City have turned their attention to Napolis players after Sanchez informed them he doesn't want to join them, with LAvezzi and Hamsik being their supposed targets, with Napoli in the champions League next year I truly can't see their players going anywhere this summer. De Laurentis himself has been very vocal about wanting to sign Sanchez as well. Now Next Summer that should be a very different story.

Yes Ferguson has been vocal in his praise and Martin Ferguson went to see him. It has been confirmed by Udinese that we have been in contact and it's believed we've been trying to sign him since he was 18. None of this means we are in for him anymore but it has more substance than Modric or Sneijder.

It's game over for United when a club like City starts bidding. United seemed to have a real interest in Yaya Toure and City ended up emptying a bank to sign him. It's even more difficult if Barca and Real go after the same player too. They can almost match City wages and well they are Barca and Real.

Except in this case, the player have rejected City's interest. So there is still some hope left in the world football:)

Yeah I know but that might have something to do with Barca showing up though;)

United can offer players success, history and "glamour". City can offer money and ambition. Barca and Real can offer success, history,"glamour",money, ambition and great weather. It's no coincidence most top players end up there at some point in their careers. Ferguson simply has to be smarter than them on the transfer market and find young talented players that aren't good enough to be on their radar yet. Hernandez is a perfect example of that.

haven't seen him much. obviously though if us, inter, and barca rate him then he must have something about him.

seen hazard a bit more.

is he really head and shoulders above hazard?

Bollox, so United can't offer money or ambition? Wash your mouth out son.

he'll help them be deeper and fresher.

Yes. He brings much better pace than Pedro and an abilty to drrible only bettered by Messi.

So instead of beating teams 4-0 he'll help them beat teams 5-0?

In La Liga they win 90% of their games anyway and they'll still have off days like every other team in the world, in Europe well they beat teams 90% of the time there as well

What would give you that idea?

So they just should just stand still, not sign anyone?

Do you rate Hazard more highly Brwned?

I do, currently a better player and he's two years younger. Seems there's more questions of him in terms of application and who knows, maybe he'll end up the worse player because of that, but for me he's more talented and does more with his talent right now too.

I've not seen enough of Hazard to contest that, will defer to your judgement!

Not in that area no, especially if they are as speculated signing Rossi as cover for Villa

The area which could be strengthened is their defence and they'll obviously get Fabregas at some point also

To be honest, it will be a hard choice to pick between Hazard and Sanchez... Worth a thread imo.

( probably people will have seen more of Sanchez... But Hazard does have UEFA cup experience )

Both teams Lille/Udinese have flourished this season with these two as one of their best contributors...

Would love either of them.

I've read on this Thai source stating that if we offer 5m more, the offer will be accepted ( Think its 30m pounds ).

I think its copied from a BS source though...

The Sun. Here's the article.

MANCHESTER UNITED will have to splash £30million to prise winger Alexis Sanchez from Udinese.
United were hoping to land the Chile golden boy, 22, for £5m less - but the Italians are refusing to lower their asking price.

Sanchez prefers a link-up with Alex Ferguson ahead of Barcelona, as he knows he would spend as much time on the bench as the Nou Camp pitch.

His agent, Fernando Felicevich, has met bosses at the Spanish giants to discuss personal terms but NO deal is in place.

And there is a belief at United, who have also held extensive talks, that it is a ploy by Udinese to push up Sanchez's price.

Manchester City were also in the hunt, yet have dropped out of the race.

That leaves Chelsea as United's biggest rivals for one of European football's most wanted men.

I don't think they'd sign both Rossi and Sanchez, I'd imagine it's one or the other. And if either were bought I'd think it was with the idea of having Pedro as the back-up and the new signing to take his place, because Pedro's simply not in the same class as the rest of the attack and can be improved upon (as unfair as that is given his contribution).

Rossi and Sanchez are two of the few attackers that can provide the same level of energy and fit into the high-pressing game while at the same time offering an improvement going forward. To me, Rossi makes more sense because he offers that threat in behind and when Barcelona have been at their peak in the last decade they've had a direct striker (Eto'o/Villa), a mercurial playmaker (Ronaldinho/Messi) and a wide attacker who threatens in behind constantly and deceptively (Giuly/Pedro).

I don't think Sanchez is as suited to this role as Rossi, although obviously he has plenty of time to improve. Then again we didn't get to see much of Ronaldinho-Eto'o-Messi so maybe two dribbling playmakers may have been even better, I just feel it might somewhat unbalance things.

nothing would. i've see hazard more so that's why i'm asking...sanchez must be shit hot if lads and teams are interested more in him than hazard.

No but I was was asking why you got this impression, where the idea the people think he's head and shoulders above Sanchez are from? The reason there's more links to clubs is because Udinese are a selling club and they're ready to sell him now just as Sanchez is ready to go, while Lille and Hazard aren't, and there's more interest on here is because he's linked with us and he's on the move this summer. I don't think any of it's implied he's a level above Hazard.

But only if they sign Rossi. Otherwise they have Afellay, Jeffren and Bojan as cover for their front three - huge drop in quality.

If Guardiola rotated his team as much as Fergie does, it would make perfect sense to sign both Sanchez and Rossi.

I rate Afellay and Bojan, Jeffren still is young and learning but does have potential...

I'm not with the Rossi buy, they wouldn't need him and I think Rossi will be wasted out wide and the boy doesn't yet possess the strength to play like Villa yet. Not that I don't rate Rossi, I think that a move to Barca will hinder his good improvement of the chance to play consistently and might end up his hopes to play for Italy...

Don't think they need any buys upfront unless they will sell first... Their team is "THAT" Good, unless its because of the election BS, they don't need to fiddle and upset it imo.
