Alexis Sanchez | Udinese: No Deal Yet

I don't see it myself. Anderson coming into form, Valencia due back in a month or so, Park coming back soon and Nani and Berbatov in the form of their lives. Where would he play?

If Gibson can get into the team, I'm pretty sure Sanchez can. :p

Like I said, I'm almost certain it's a load of crap, which was confirmed by yogi suggesting it's legit.

I've got the makings of a rager here ladies and gents... I mean just gents, ah now that sounds gay. Not that there's anything wrong with them! Shit i'm... um, yeah so Sanchez then?

Yeah but Gibson is happy enough to be back up to our back ups and to start half a dozen games a season. I don't see Sanchez being the same

Marcotti: Many asking *** Alexis Sanchez + United/Chelsea. Don't have new info, apart from Udinese confirming they've been in touch.(which isn't new)

Disappointing.

just to play the devils advocate here, perhaps valencia is not making smooth enough progress or perhaps he wont be able to reach his peak in time for the run in.

just saying like :D

I hope not, I really rate Valencia. Can't wait to see him back, and in particular can't wait to see him and Rafael team up properly on that right wing

Sanchez signing would hardly be 'major - and boy do I mean it'. It'll probably be some mammoth offer from Chelsea for Aguero, Pato or someone. Very, very unlikely to even be related to us.

We don't really need him, do we? We've already got Nani, Valencia and Park who can cover the right wing, with Giggsy maybe doing another season and Welbeck (I guess he'll be play wide quite a big next season) and Cleverley coming back from their respective loans. If we really intend to go for a winger let's buy a left-sided player.

Perhaps Fergie thinks Sanchez could play on either wing - and would plan to primarily rotate between Nani, Valencia and Sanchez for the two winger spots.

No guarantee Valencia will come straight back into form even remotely close to that which he had before he was injured. Park, for once in his life might feel knackered coming back from the cup and Giggs can't play left-wing week in, week out, no matter how good he's playing currently.

Saying that, who knows what role Sanchez will have?

He's better on the left than Gibson, though. Which, in all fairness, you could say is the same for Hitler's corpse which is still fairly right-wing.

hmm its possible though I thought Sanchez was primarily right footed?

So is Nani, and basically every winger we sign, so it doesn't seem to stop Fergie thinking they can play on the left.

It's about the Olympic Stadium..

:nono: I've had it confirmed that the news from the Guardian is as follows: City still haven't won anything in 34 years.

The only reason buying Sanchez makes much sense is if there's a lot of worry over whether Valencia will get back to top form before April/May, Park needs a rest following the Asia Cup, and Nani can't be expected to play every game. If Nani gets injured before Valencia gets back, we're boned.

I'm here my underlings. Gazetto Del Radio.

Smashed, I think it's pretty hopeful of you to think Valencia will come straight back in and perform at such a high level - it could potentially take a while. Park might need a bit of a break after playing in the Asia Cup - I'm not expecting him to come back and have the form he had just before he left either. That leaves Giggs and Nani who are comfortable on the wing - and Giggs is not going to last forever (although I'm now beginning to have doubts about this!). Also, signing Sanchez in this window would allow him a bit of a settling in period (like Evra and Vidic had) and we could maybe slowly stop our reliance on an ageing Giggs to win us games.

Apparantly devilish has said that he's played quite a few games for Udinese as a second striker as well, so adding depth to the squad is always welcome (especially when it's someone with his ability).

EDIT - Basically what Adzz said. I swear I hadn't read your post!

Gambit, you have my sword...

(Think i've done this before)

Offer for Suarez has been accepted apparently :

GuillemBalague :Its false that Ajax have accepted an offer for Suarez

One day, we should start a transfer rumor on Twitter and get the Twitterverse into a frenzy for no real reason. Kinda like the person who started this(probably) did.

I'm getting rumours from all over the shop, i've heard thesefour things.

1) Sanchez to United
2) Olympic Stadium to West Ham
3) United accept takeover bid
4) Atletico accept crazy bid for Aguero

Now watch as it turns out it's none of those.

I'm not saying he will come straight back and perform to his best- but he will be fully fit sooner or later, and then what? If we bought a new player every time we had a serious injury we have a squad larger than the populace of greater Manchester. When Valencia does come back, we will have himself, Nani and Park playing for the two wing positions and Giggs as a fourth choice if need be. Neither Nani or Valencia deserve to be dropped, and Park has proven time and again he is good enough to be third choice.

And we have enough talented young strikers without adding another. I just honestly don't think he is the player we need, and can't see us going for him

A journo started this and he's more likely to be believed than we are :p

Alexis Sanchez has a twitter account and he follows MUFootballClub. Just adding fuel to the proverbial fire so as to thicken the smoke.

Yeah but again- Gibson is what, 3rd or fourth choice for the left? You don't bring in a player of Samchez's calibre because he is better than your 8th choice winger or something.

Sure he's right footed, but this kid is potentially magnificent, and he's versatile, he can easily be moulded into a striker or an AM. He can play both wings. A future with him, Valencia and Nani would be pretty bright.

I'd happily take him.

Latest rumour is that Edwin VdS won't be the only Man Utd retirement announcement today. Pure speculation though. #SAF

He's a flair player. Our new number 7? This guardianexclusive is too long to wait for

Well met, I dub thee Field Marshall Muppet General AdZzzzzzzzzzzzzzz!

Woohoo!

Also Smashed, I've no doubt Valencia is already in pretty good fitness but fitness isn't always intrinsically linked to form - undoubtedly it's drastically important but I doubt very much Antonio will be in the best form for a good few weeks. Who knows though? Because he's mentally strong as feck and all round a great player.

Still, if we were to sign Sanchez it really wouldn't impact on him much to be honest.
