Alexis Sanchez | Udinese: No Deal Yet

Isn't Defour more of a box to box? Could work with Fletcher and Anderson around. Besides I'm talking more about a profile of player - i.e. talented but not very expensive. Hamsik would probably cost twice as much. It's not unthinkable that we will pull out another unexpected signing.

Yes but do we need another box to box midfielder? Carrick is doing the playmaking job when Scholes is not there but he is not as good as he was two years ago.

I must say, though you've got people touting about all these Defour/Moutinho/Hamsik/Veloso wankers, this guy looks a seriously impressive talent. The way he uses his agility to turn is incredible.

Well what people suggest here is because he is a winger, we don't really need him right now because of the options we have. The players you mentioned are all central midfielders. But I don't want Veloso or Moutinho to come anywhere near United. I m still not sure about Defour also.

He's excellent but he is a winger and we don't need a winger as much as we need a midfielder. Veloso isn't all that anyway and I don't think Moutinho is good enough either, Hamsik I'm not sure about because I have not seen enough of him and I know absolutely nothing about Defour.

Just mean that, in general, this guy looks to be a massive talent irrespective of his position. I know that he's not a central midfielder.

We often get linked with a particular bracket of player simply because they are above average and young yet this guy, for once, actually looks like the bog's dollocks.

I was very impressed with him at the World Cup, in fact most of that Chile team looked like they knew their football but he was a stand-out performer. He could probably play on the left too which means we could use him there instead of Nani when Valencia comes back, and work out a rotation system. He could also play behind a striker in a trio with both of them on flanks, it would probably work too.

If we can afford him then it would make sense to bring him over here, don't think we will though.

Fergie likes this sort of player - brave and plays with no fear

To top it off, he's quite a footballer. We can't afford to miss him in my opinion

Better than Hazard?

This year Sanchez has been better than Hazard. Sanchez has made huge improvements to his game these past 12 months. Hazard has been under the radar for the past 6-8 months or so. I would prefer Hazard though because he is younger, would cost cheaper and he is more of an Ozil type player, in the sense that he can play both on the left wing and through the middle in the attacking midfield role.

I've seen almost none of either so I'm curious to know. Whose the more gifted on the ball in terms of ability to beat his man?

Sanchez is definitely quicker than Hazard so he can easily beat his man with speed. Hazard beats his man more with skill. I m not saying Sanchez has no skill but Hazard puts it to better use than Sanchez. Defenders just can't keep up with Sanchez. He is like Walcott but has better skill, finishes better, has more confidence on the ball, passes and crosses better.

So he's the footballer version of Walcott?

This has just gone on Sanchez twitter bio...

Jugador Chileno, de futbol, Ahora jugando por Udinese, Italia. Ahora con Inter y Manchester atras mio, veamos que pasa

Chilean player, of soccer, Now playing for Udinese, Italy. Now with Inter and Manchester atras mio, we see that passes

Also, on 23rd Dec

Inter o United?

Would love there to be some truth behind this, I think the lad is going to be a star and would certainly become a massive star under SAF.

Hazard vs Sanchez,

So far for me, I'd take Sanchez, he is better built ( Probably due to age ) and has a very strong upper body compared to Hazard, both have insane amount of potential and are very elegant on the ball... Sanchez is a fraction quicker from what I've seen ( Which for Hazard, I have yet to watch him frequently ).

I'd take Sanchez as he might make an immediate impact, Hazard might have a bit more potential but we might have to wait for 3-4 years to see the best out of Hazard...

Just my opinion, no harm done, both really good players and I would love it if we got either one.

Chelsea join United and Inter in £17m race for Chile winger Alexis Sanchez | Mail Online

Chelsea have expressed an interest in Udinese winger Alexis Sanchez.

The Chile World Cup star is in outstanding form in Serie A and has also been targeted by Manchester United and Inter Milan.

Udinese president Giampaolo Pazzi has previously said Sanchez, will not be sold before the summer

The 22-year-old has a £17m buy-out clause in his contract.

Why do journalists even write articles this small? Its only like four lines.

Super player, in my opinion. I'd rather we went for a left winger though, not that I can think of too many.

If we went sniffing anywhere near him, I'd be very surprised if Shitty didn't come in with a bigger bid.

Depends on what he values most, being a bit richer, or winning things :)

City already have Johnson and Silva competing for the right wing position. They'll have to get rid of one of them before they can offer Sanchez a spot

Can he play as well on the left is the main question?

Because Nani and Valencia (especially) are good on the right. So we are covered there.

feck off Barca...who else do you bloody well need?! lol

I guess this is going to be another player with whom we're constantly linked for ages and in the end he'll end up at some other club, i hope i am wrong in this case.

Dirty Sanchez with a bit of Hernandez both playing for Manchester United FC.

Man, what is this world coming to! One would never have guessed it a couple of decades ago ;)

Always liked the fella, since I watched him star for Chile when they whipped Bafana (not exactly a BIG achievement  ) about 3-4 years ago. Incidentally, if he has a good agent who is actually concerned about his clients football career (yeah right) it is really a no-brainer where his client should end up...with us.

He'd struggle to get a game at Barca. City will just buy him for the sake of buying him, not even sure if Madrid is in for him but same applies as Barca...Chelsea's sytem might not suit him and well, we have SAF
