Alexis Sanchez | Signed for Arsenal

I'm not convinced he's what Arsenal need go be honest. The Ox, Theo, Ozil, Cazorla etc they have a lot of players who play in the three behind the striker already. Unless Sanchez is going to be through the middle replacing Giroud.

I would have to agree with that. Every year it seems like most of arsenals players are injured. I remember in 2010 they played Barcelona with almost there reserve team. If they can keep players fit then it will make a massive difference and they should be much better for it.

I remember that game, we had Silvestre in central defence and brought on Eboue to replace him with Bendnter up top on his own and Merida + Traore amongst our subs.

If I remember correctly, Fabregas, Van Persie, Adebayor, Gallas, Song and Djourou were all injured. At one point so many defenders got injured we had to resign Sol Campbell as back up. Its still not as bad as the season where we lost all four full backs and had to play Vermaelen at LB with Koscielny (?) at right back.

That fitness coach will do us the world of good.

Still not confident on Sanchez though, until I see him on the Arsenal website holding up the shirt the deal isn't done.

Sanchez is superior to all these players, except maybe bug eyes who enjoyed a fairly mediocre season anyway.

I agree that he's better than them all.

Is he £40m better? Don't know about that. Think they'd be better off spending that money in a position they need new talent I.E. Someone to replace Giroud

don't understand Wnger's fascination with attackers, his best period came as a manager when he had good defenders,

It was a pity. It was a massively hyped match that everyone was looking forward too but it was ruined by arsenal having so many injuries imo. It would have been a much closer and better game if they had their whole team fit. In all of my years following Madrid I can only think of one season (08/09) where we had near as much injuries that arsenal have every year. If the new fitness coach can improve it then it will make a massive difference.

Wenger's maintained this problem for quite some time now, fancying pretty and dainty footballers over steely winners with leadership. There needs to be a balance.

Christ, it's cliche o'clock.

We have some dainty footballers. We also have Ramsey and Mertesacker. These guys are steely and leaders too.
I think Sanchez will prove an excellent signing, but I don't see him elevating Arsenal to title winners. There's still some obvious weaknesses that Wenger has yet to address.

Sure. If we don't sign a DM, it's curtains. I still think we should loan Jenkinson and buy a proper defender who can play CB/RB too.

We're not miles away from a brilliant squad. It takes time to rebuild your squad to title quality after chronic under-investment over a period of years.

It's amusing how whenever a top player signs for another club, most people here attempt to criticize it as being a bad fit/not needed/[insert odd justification].

''We didn't need them anyway'' is quite popular too.

He's a brilliant player and he'll do well for them, but if it's true that Vidal is available for the same fee as Sanchez (40m), I don't understand why Arsenal aren't after him. Attacking midfielders and wingers they have plenty of.

If the rumours are true, the amount is around 40m euros, not pounds.

He can play centrally as their front man. Would be interesting to see them try it since it's going to be difficult for them to get a top class striker (few about these days). With the likes of Ozil and Walcott then they have a squad capable of playing that way.. and Giroud isn't a half bad player to bring in for the games where you want someone to target with good hold up play.

Silvestre v Messi

To be fair to Wenger he's got a defense of - Flamini, Sanderock, Djourou and Eboue to the CL Final (granted we had Sol Campbell too, but it looks more impressive if I type it up this way).

The oneupmanship can get pathetic sometimes, if it's not a wind-up.

Liverpool would be a decent choice as well as Arsenal. If he's chosen us, great. I'm glad Wenger speaks so many languages and knows a good Chilean restaurant in Hampstead.

Exactly. You can't say much around here without idiots like NoArroJusBeta jumping up and whipping their knob out for a pissing contest.

Great piece of business if they pull it off, as they are rumoured to be doing. The three of Ozil, Sanchez and Walcort behind a very good/great striker has the potential to be unplayable . Now if they signed players for the roles they really need, like fullback and DM, and have better luck with injuries then they could realistically challenge for the title.

And Henry, Bergkamp, Pires etc
true but i meant to say, he always has agood staple of attackers, but loses matches in CM and defence, in his most successfull days he had it solid at the back and in CM areas, allowing his attacking style to be effective, now for years he's been trying to recreate that same type of team upfront but has neglected the foundation (his world class defence)

hopefully he goes to Arsenal, we need them to win a few derbies for us, and also make nani more appealing in our pursuit of Vidal , ;)

Overall, you're a bunch of fannies though.

As opposed to the fannies who threw the league away at Crystal Palace in 10 minutes after being 0-3 up.

Best case, he goes to Juve. He will make Arsenal stronger and I can see easily why he is choosing Arsenal over others.

I think that's worst case. If that happens then why would Vidal want to push through a transfer? He'd probably stay knowing his mate had just joined the club. I want Sanchez in the Premier League, so I hope he goes to Arsenal.

The more quality players the premiership has the better!

Come to England Sanchez (preferably United! but if not then you are still welcome)

He'll be a great signing for Arsenal.

Having said that, they're still Arsenal, so nothing much to worry about.
