Alexis Sanchez | Signed for Arsenal

Seems Juve don't have the cash to pull it off. If we'd sign Vidal before Sanchez moves that situation might change and he might still join Juventus, but for the moment I think the Sanchez move is closer than the Vidal move and all reports seem to suggest Arsenal is his most likely destination. No doubt if Juventus had the cash and pay what Barcelona is asking they'd be his prefered destination.

Why his preferred destination? I think right now Arsenal are more attractive for a player than Juventus. Playing in the Premier League is a massive draw for any player. Also based on your logic earlier, what have Juventus done in the last 10 years in Europe? You did say Arsenal do nothing in Europe therefore Sanchez shouldn't join them.

Financially, they would have been worse of without him. You just couldn't see another manager without Wenger's know how in business and finance undertaking a massive stadium project and doing it with minimal funds. They would have still been at Highbury IMHO if it wasn't for Wenger.

That is bullshit, Wenger is a sportive manager and I'am 99% sure investment issues and business deals are managed by other people at the club than Wenger.

It seems certain that he is England bound. I am excited to see him come to the PL. A top player and real entertainer.

I hope it's to United but in still happy of he goes to Arsenal. The league is losing for the second year in a row the player of the season. I think it's important that some big imports come in.

You seem so certain of everything. You must know something we don't

If he's decided to join Arsenal then that's good for him, people used to brag about stability as a reason players should choose United, now we forget Arsenal have that, and we don't now, they seem to have also loosened their purse after all these years, they play good football, are good to watch, and they have a world class manager in Wenger, there's a lot of reasons for him to join Arsenal.

Absolute rubbish.

Arsenal can pay him more. They are in the PL, which is by far the most watched and talked about sports league in the world.

London > Turin. It's no competitor for a young millionaire.

Play in front if 60 every week or empty stadiums in Italy.

And Arsenal can pay him more.

When I was talking about Europe I was talking about Arsenal not being a bigger draw than Manchester United in that area simply because we are out of the CL for one season. We're a bigger club than them in Europe and if that was the reason he'd reject us for Arsenal it'd be a bit silly.

Juventus aren't anything special either in Europe you are right, not saying he'd join them over Arsenal because of his aspirations on that area. But Juventus are the leading club in the Serie A and CL qualification is more assured there than at Arsenal, winning trophies is also more assured, and yea the PL is more attractive than Serie A but it is well known Sanchez loves Italy and the Serie A so in his that might not be an issue. If Juve can match what Arsenal is paying to barca and can match the salary on the table I'am almost certain he'd go there.

I think this Sanchez interest is purely smoke and mirrors. There has no official comment from Arsenal, Sanchez, Barcelona regarding his future and where that may lie. Pure fabrication and I think this one could run for a while. A deal wont take place until Suarez is sold.

What is more attractive, competing for 4th spot in the PL or competing for the title year in year out in Italy ?

Also stadiums in Italy aren't empty and playing every week in the Juventus stadium is equal to playing every week at the emirates.

Sanchez has family and a life in Italy, he'd chose Turin over London no doubt.

About the salary you are correct, but I'am just saying if Juve could match what Arsenal puts on the table he'd join them over Arsenal.

Probably already mentioned, Sanchez and his agent are in Barcelona and his agent has started following Arsenal players on twitter, whatever that's worth.

Today on Bravo's presentation Zubizarreta mentioned they could be announcing many outgoing players this week, so this could be solved soon.

Only Balotelli at this point and that has really died down.

Maybe if Campbell coming back we won't sign one. Who knows what Wenger will do with Walcott when he returns and with Sanchez IF he ends up signing for us.

If Arsene uses the excuse that Walcott can play up front then you might aswell not bother with this season. I don't think you guys are signing a striker, which is quite shocking tbh.

The real question is...which top striker should they buy and still have money left over for other parts of the squad that needs to be addressed. They still need a GK, DM, CB and a RB. I don't think they'd go out and spend over 40 million on any one player with 5 positions that really need to be filled. Wenger is too much of an economist for that.

This is quite bizarrely biased.

Juventus are a legendary club, bigger than Arsenal, and win their domestic league, whereas Arsenal never do anything but flatter to deceive.
For a South American, Italy is probably a more natural setting, and his pal Vidal is currently there too.

He won't exactly be on peanuts at Juve either.
I don't get this London obsession. Living on the continent is surely more appealing to many.

Yet they have spent £40 Million on Ozil and probably about £30 Million on Sanchez. Arsene probably has a few kids he wants to give a chance or something. If he doesn't sign a striker he's delusional.

PL > Serie A

By a long distance.

If Arsenal nails this signing they are taking huge steps. Cazorla out and Sanchez and Walcott on either side of Ozil is world class if they get a striker of quality as well.

They spent 40 million on Ozil yes but Wenger didn't see a need to fill the other spots in the squad. This season with Sagna, Fabianski and a glaring lack of a top striker absent after last season, spending 40 plus million on one player won't make any sense this time around. There would be only 60 million remaining to grab at least 4 more players, unless he's only spending 15 million on each of them. Hardly likely.

I know, I was just saying it was a bit mad that they are spending on Ozil and Sanchez when they need defenders and a striker.

But surely he would want to play in front of the self proclaimed best fans in the world rather than win league titles ?

Liverpool are out of the running, according to BBC's Ben Smith.

:(

This time I'm the one unhappy about something Liverpool have briefed the media with. We've had a stinker this summer, was hoping Alexis would change that.

Just for the record here, there is no order in which you must do your business.

Sanchez isn't a priority position for us but if we get him and the rest of the players we need, I have no interest in which order they were signed.

Stay positive - the money for Suarez is apparently not linked to your expenditure so far so maybe that £75m will be reinvested in top class players, not the Lallanas of this world.

He won't be doing either at Arsenal.
To be honest I am shocked non of the big guns are in for him, especially that apart from Hazard and eventually Sterling there are no top wingers in the league. City should push hard for him and let Navas go back to Spain.

They'll have a significantly better squad with a higher standard of player. Add to that a better manager and better location.

Liverpool don't have a single thing to offer that Arsenal couldn't.

I think Moyesie said similar things last summer...

Not sure we can attract the top players though, Alexis was a possibility because of the Suárez deal but guess that's not a goer. Markovic seems like a decent signing and I haven't seen enough of Can but otherwise it's been decent players at premium prices...and Bertrand would be a travesty.

The oneupmanship can get pathetic sometimes, if it's not a wind-up.

Liverpool would be a decent choice as well as Arsenal. If he's chosen us, great. I'm glad Wenger speaks so many languages and knows a good Chilean restaurant in Hampstead.

Rodgers speaks Spanish too. :(

Yeh, there has been a big overspend on second class players, it would seem.

If Liverpool can't attract top players, it would make more sense to attract top talents. Get the next big thing out of Porto, for example. That Markovic signing is on those lines.

I don't see why Liverpool don't dangle a £50m carrot in front of Monaco for Rodriguez, for example. That might be pushing it, but there's no harm trying.

He isn't worth 50 million.

Until their sort their bottling out it won't change. As talented a squad in the league but always have a severe case of mental midgetry.
