Alexis Sanchez | Done deal

He might be a better player than Siggy but there's a massive diffeeence between the two transfers. One club didn't want to sell and the sale could possibly have affected their survival and one club is basically forcing the player out.

That affects bargaining positioning.
I've said that.

We all need to calm down dear!

All of the guff coming from Mkhitaryan's agent is just news management for Arsenal.

If they just straight up announced the swap the Arsenal fans would be marching on the stadium with pitch forks.

These stories allow time for Arsenal fans to get used to the idea and maybe also stall until Auba deal is sorted too.

It's all sorted and the usual media stuff will be being prepared behind closed doors.

The will he won't he stuff is all window dressing so that Arsenal don't look desperate to their fans. Given enough stories the Arsenal fans will talk themselves into it being a good deal.

Given enough time and space and the inner muppet gets to us all

If you don't believe me check the page count on this thread!

Remember that RVP was basically accused of having attitude problems before he joined us too yet never caused any problems when he was here?
Yup, it's Arsenal Blatant Propaganda Time again:

There is no doubt that John Cross’ piece on Alexis Sanchez and Arsenal’s parting of ways is excellently sourced. It’s just that Mediawatch can’t help thinking that this is the perfect time for Arsenal to try and persuade supporters that selling Sanchez to Manchester United or Chelsea is the right thing to do. And the only way to do that is by questioning the Chilean’s professionalism.

‘Alexis Sanchez is the £60m gamble which backfired so badly it has left the club in meltdown,’ begins Cross’ piece in the Daily Mirror. Meltdown, you say? Glad he’s leaving then.

And so you get accusations like this:

‘The harsh reality is that Sanchez became such an unmanageable diva that he has left a trail of destruction in his wake which raises serious questions about Arsene Wenger’s future.

‘The moment Chile went out of the World Cup was a game changer and Sanchez was dead set on leaving Arsenal quickly. At 29, his last shot at glory for his country was gone and he wanted to join a club with a chance of winning silverware.

‘Sanchez also switched off in training and was petulant on the training ground – last year he was dropped at Liverpool for having a bust-up after storming off. That got worse. His levels dropped, he was the first to leave and displayed more arrogance than usual.’

The suggestion that the World Cup exit changed things is interesting. Chile’s elimination from World Cup qualifying was confirmed on October 11. Yet on November 26, six weeks after he had supposedly downed tools, Cross wrote that Sanchez was ‘a bundle of energy, desire and non-stop work rate’ who ‘drove Arsenal on’ during an away win against Burnley.

'Never did understand why some Arsenal fans thought it was good business to sell Sanchez on deadline day,’ Cross tweeted the next day. ‘Yesterday proved the point. Football over balance sheet to keep him. Why any fan wants to lose their best player is beyond me.’

An awful lot has changed in six weeks.

What’s the summary of today’s events? Haven’t been following !
Mkhi hasn't decided whether to go to Arsenal or not
Raiola has decided that if Mkhi does not go to Arsenal, he wont allow Sanchez to come to Utd
Conte says he has no idea who his club buys or sells and he thinks (assumes) they are not in for Sanchez, as no one has told him

How can Raiola not allow Sanchez to come to United? Surely he didn't say that.

I still think worst case scenario we will pay cash.

Getting Sanchez and Ozil in over the next two windows for no outlay in terms of transfer fees and only losing a player who doesn't fit in at United seems almost too good to be true. Hope it isn't.

Arsenal supporters seem reasonable. A guy on Arsenal Mania called Troopz with a picture of the Arsenal fan tv guy (could actually be him) posted this:

And a lot of people subsequently agreed with him.
Lack of blud and fam words makes me thnik, it is not him, unless blud and fam is for tv apereances only.

Mkhitaryan will be a baller for Arsenal, fam. I’ll not be one bit surprised when he’s terrorising defences in the PL. He is a good player, there is no doubt about it, but he’s mentally weak as feck. His form will rise with Arsenal and dip with Arsenal.

He’s only like 34 days younger than Sanchez too. It doesn’t matter if Sanchez has 6 months left on his contract - this deal is straight outta MasterLeague.

We’re getting a deal of the century here. Getting a player we desperately need to take us to the next level from our rival, right under the noses of our bitter rivals and giving them a player we don’t want. A player that won’t pull up trees when shit hits the fan. So essentially leaving Arsenal where they always been at.

fecking buzzing.

PS - Raiola is some fecking agent. I bet after this is over his phone will be buzzing for days from players who’ll want that type of representation.

needs more bluds

Mkhi's agent just trying to get the best deal for his client. He's in some position of strength too; United need to get rid to get Sanchez. Wouldn't surprise me if he gets a nice 'buy out' bonus.

Jose clearly doesn't rate Miki so represents an ok deal, not fantastic. Sanchez will decline in a year or so due to his age. And he strikes me as a down tools kinda guy, so lets hope he stays happy during his stay here or he'll stink the place out with his attitude.

We need to get the best out of him for 2-3 years and ship him off to china or America who will pay his high wages. Hopefully it works out good.
That's very harsh. It has to be remembered that there was a long period in the middle of last season where Sanchez was the only player at Arsenal actually playing with passion. He was pretty much single-handedly dragging them along and keeping them in the hunt for top 4. It wasn't until the last couple of months of the season after he'd been let down time after time by the rest of the team around him (in the sense that they seemed to be incredibly weak mentally and just didn't have the drive to get results), that he seemed to get incredibly frustrated and started acting out. So basically he only 'downed tools' after he grew tired of everyone else in the team having done so months ago.

Who will be first with the next update? Let's start betting.

Attackers doing well under Wenger (in modern times) is a myth, unless you are bonafide world class like Sanchez and you could argue even he could have done even more. Look at Ox for example, he's progressed more in 6 months under Klopp than 6 years under Wenger, heck even Wilshere looks revitalized after a year away from him. The last time Wenger had his teams playing attractive football suited to attacking talent was 10/11, they have actually been crap on the eye since.

Raised a good point there. Ozil not been to bad if late but that is probably more to do with putting himself in the shop window.

I can see why Miki wouldn't want to move to Arsenal tbh. They're in a right state at the moment and it's not the most harmonious of dressing rooms. Saying all that, i really can't see him getting another game at United if he does stay. He wasn't exactly flavour of the month before, so after all this i can't see a way back for him.

Probably be in his best interest to leave. Hopefully, for us, that means moving to Arsenal. He is in a bit of a shit situation though tbf.

Ox has been garbage this season. He had a great game against City though.

Attacking wise, the second bolded is nonsense.

The player holds the cards ultimately when a contract is run down this far, he's free to sign a pre contract now with other clubs for next season. Arsenal wont let him walk away for nothing in the Summer, especially with Ozil potentially leaving for nothing. They have sold up in the past and it looks like they will sell again, we are negotiating with the club. We wouldn't be after Rvp but they have got themselves in a mess with contracts once again. Yeah usually the club selling are in the strong position, not this time. Not even the most deluded Arsenal fan would disagree. I think you'll find you have made the 'shit comment'.

No, you do not understand. For this window, arsenal can play ball. You cannot sign him to a pre contract until march, at which point he may already have signed a contact with a foreign club.

The point of the matter is if you want him this month, arsenal can still dictate whether to accept the bid or tell you where to go. Hence, they are trying to get the best deal for us since you are so willing to get the deal done so ultimately while Sanchez and united may want this to happen, arsenal will only sanction it if they are happy with what we are getting. In other words, we still hold all the cards.
Otherwise, we can cut this out and have Sanchez play the rest of the 4 months of whatever there is left and then look to replace in the summer.

Imagine thinking this isnt a done dealio :lol:What a bunch of actually practical cnuts because tbh its a complicated deal and anything can go wrong!
Me thinks its a done delio though, Raiola wouldnt be naming names if it wasnt or at least close to completion.
Btw does anyone remember any other high profile player swaps? Only the papers go on and on about swaps when they actually never happen. They'll go fecking bonkers now.

He has not been garbage at all - he’s gradually been getting better. The city game wasn’t an anomaly - the last few he has been good.

I imagine Henrikh isn't jumping for joy at the prospect of a drastic drop in wage and a high probability of no champions league football again. I'm sure he'd much prefer to go back to the bundesliga but from what I remember Dortmund were very unimpressed with him when he left.

Some on twitter panicking over the BBC saying Arsenal won't sell Sanchez for cash but only want Mkhi --- none of them realize that's straight from the pen of Raiola? Who else would make Mkhi seem as though he's desperately wanted?

The official website referenced Sanchez. Would they do that if this wasn't all but certain.
