If Arsenal do end up getting around £30m for him its not a bad result for them really.
They'll have had him for three and a half years and will have gotten what they paid for him back.
I mean its horrendous in every other sense - letting your best player run down his contract, being forced to sell to a rival, selling for 0 profit when they could've gotten £60m for him 6 months ago etc.
But in pure financial terms (which let's face it, is how Arsenal is run) its not the worst case scenario.
