I don't know why people love Martial so much. We got bumped for him.

He isn't that good. Those hoping for him to become a world class player will be disappointed.

If Wenger wants him (because of his French player bias) then we should exploit it. Get rid of the dead wood and bring in a certified world class player to add to our firepower.

He is 22 and still plays like he did when he first came. No noticeable development. No consistency. Wrong attitude.

Sanchez is on the same level as Aguero, Kane, Hazard etc...

Also, he wouldn't be worth 100 mil in the current market. Noone would pay that for Martial. The max we would get is 50 mil. We can have Sanchez NOW. He can play in the Champions League, he can win games on his own, he has the work ethic, he has the quality.

Stop clinging onto the hopes of Martial becoming a world class player. He won't ever be that guy.

We should cut our losses now and get rid of him before everyone notices how average he is.

Wow he may not ever become world class but he is als double teamed in every game because he is our only threat

Would not get rid of him at all crazy at 22 years old

Your profile scan has came back as WUM positive.

Now only 1/3 for United. Done dealio and will be confirmed before end of next week. ;)

e. After that agent Alex will ask his friend Arturo to join us too. You read it first from here.

1/3 is as good as done. No way the bookies will give you such odds if it wasn't a done deal.

Bookies odds are the single worst indicator of the likely outcome. If I've learnt nothing else from the likes of Vidal and Griezeman in the past, I have learnt this

They had probably already planned to visit England a while back. You don't get that many people to drop what they're doing and come over at moment's notice

Yep, they all came to visit to help him choose his new house in Cheshire.

I just joined to read news about United as its easier than going to different sites and thought it will be better to join in case this site becomes members only and never posted anything but i am just astonished to see this.
Why would anyone even think about selling probably our most important player and also the most exciting prospect? There is a reason why Arsenal fans want him in exchange. Even opposition fans admire his quality.
 I love how you made an exception to not posting to ridicule that post. Your first and only post on the caf. But yeah, it was a dreadful post and probably a wum.

First post to reply to that utter monstrosity. Well done

Got a feeling tonight we'll get lots of news seeing as the Sunday papers go out in a few hours.

Honestly in @saaypundit defence, Martial is extremely overrated on this forum and we should get rid of him soon before his value drops too much with his poor performances. Sanchez for Martial would actually be a very good deal for us and we should try pushing it through asap.
Now that I'm wumming, can I get some attention now too, thanks.

regardless of your thoughts on Martial, you're missing the simple fact that we don't need to include him in any deal. Arsenal are clearly willing to sell at the right price.

Martial as 'dead wood' is one of the most bizarre things I've heard. Even if you don't rate him highly, it's still a weird thing to say.

Also we bought Martial for £36m with a lot of add ons and I think we have currently paid £56m for him, and that was well before transfer fees went through the roof. If you think he's worth £50m now then you really haven't got a clue! I bet you are useless with finances.

Clear wum. Nothing to look at.

You’re either a WUM or you simply don’t understand football.

Only has 9 goals and 8 assists this season, get rid!

Even if the rest of your post wasn't hilariously wrong (no difference this season to last? Do you actually watch matches?), the highlighted part completely destroys your own argument. Sanchez is going for around £25-30m, so even if you're right (once again, you're not, btw) and Martial is only worth £50m, why are you so keen to throw away £20m?

What a load of rubbish.

Did i miss some white text or something?Martial is our best attacking player and our biggest talent since ronaldo.

clearly your opinion is in the minority.

Mourinho doesnt keep half arses, just ask Memphis. If Martial wasn't good enough he wouldn't be at the club simple. Theres a reason Arsenal fans want to replace Sanchez with Martial.

Jesus christ, you're making us newbies look like complete idiots.
50m for Martial? Are you kidding me? He's only 22, that's 5-6 years before he even hits his prime and you're already talking about cutting our losses?

Even if we assume all the tripe you’ve written is correct, why would anyone at United in their right minds move a player who is, in your own words, worth ~50 million when the other team is only looking for 30-35 million?

In a world where Lingard is having the season of his life, the writing off of Martial is so painfully backwards, it's just plain stupid.

Based on this post and your previous one, I'm guessing that you're an Arsenal fan? If not, then I'm not entirely sure where you're coming from when suggesting that we straight swap Sanchez for Martial. Right now, I wouldn't even straight swap Lingard for Sanchez from a financial perspective. Sanchez is simply a world class player, but only has 5/6 months left on his contract and is 29, while Martial is not quite the same level as Sanchez, but he's only 22, has been one of our best attackers this season and was bought for a fee that's now risen above £50m.

This all being said, Sanchez's current market value with only 5/6 months left on his contract is about £25/30m, while we could easily demand a total of £130/140m (including add ons) for Martial in this current market where Coutinho and Dembele went for similar amounts and Mbappe will cost near £180m. It would be incredibly stupid of us to sell Martial for less than £100m, never mind for the equivalent of about £25m (which would be a loss of about £30m on our initial investment for him).

Please "fix" the newbie system, this hurts.
Edit: removed tag as it seems it didn't come across jokingly like it was meant.

'Newbie' status is irrelevant surely. If SAF joined today he'd know less about the club and players then.... In this case though, Martial has been excellent this year- would I take him over Dembele? Of course I would

Yeah I'm fairly sure @saaypundit is a blatant wum and is a getting a real kick from all these responses he's getting

At the end of the day, my point is that Martial is average. If Wenger is willing to take Martial for Sanchez, I would do that all day without any hesitation.

I don't understand why people are so protective of an average player. What does he do that is so spectacular?

In a couple of years, Martial will be just another guy who could have been this or that.

This is just my opinion. People don't have to lose their shit.

The question you need to ask is who would you have in your team now? Martial or Sanchez?

Martial on the left and Sanchez on the right. It’s really that simple since Sanchez is productive across the front three!

Sanchez is understood to prefer the prospect of a move to City to work with Pep Guardiola and it now remains to be seen whether or not money talks.

 Or, you know, he just wanted to play for the most successful club in England.

But of course, City were just going to pay him in photos of Pep's scalp.

Bookies are one of the best indicators what we can have. Better than random tweets... Of course even 99% sure transfers doesn't happen every time, like in DDG case shows. I guess in Griezmann case odds werent badly wrong actually. It just didn't happen because of Atletico transfer ban. And if you don't remember, Pogba, Zlatan and Mkhi and many others all were in odds 1/5, 1/10, 1/20 etc before we signed them. It doesn't guarantee anything but it's a good sign if odds collapse.

So, odds that go up and down according to how much and how many people that place bets are more reliable than 'random tweets' when in fact the mentioned people use those random tweets to dictate their betting? Makes no sense

I agree! He is overrated, but only by United fans!
Oh, crap, you have white text!
so do I, teehee,

I've been criticised (unfairly, I might add) for some of my posts on here, so don't want to join in the pitchfork brigade, but come on mate. Do you seriously believe that?

Nah, I prefer WUMs, flight paths, and random twitter accounts.

I will come back to the economical aspects of an eventual deal.

From my understanding Sanchez wants a sign on bonus that gives him a total salary in the region of £350k/w. I expects his agent to only accept a minimum of 3 year so a 3+1 contract seems reasonable.

If we compare us buying, let’s say, Dybala we probably have to fork out a transfer fee north of £130m and a salary of at least £225k/w plus. 5+1 year contract.

Assumptions

Total cost Dybala per year (6) incl wages £31,7m.
(120m + 70,2m (225k x 52 + 5) = 190,2m/6 = 31,7m)

Total cost Sanchez per year (4) incl wages £24,5m.
(30m (fee) + 20m (sign bonus) + 47,8m (230k x 52 x 3) = 97,8m/4 = 24,5m)

I expects both of them to receive a loyalty bonus if they stay 3/5 years and similar personal performance incentives.

So in this scenario who’s most value for money and who will suit our overall situation (Martial/Rashford) best?

When we get out of the craziness of your mind, real world concrete data shows that Martial has delivered goals/assists this season on a similar level to Sanchez with less minutes. In fact Martial is the most efficient forward in the EPL despite being double teamed and limited fullback overlap. That's just how talented he is. Now I agree he isn't as consistent as Sanchez and has plenty to do to get to world class level, but that is no reason to give up a player probably worth 160-180m in the market. Top 3 U-23 forwards today would probably be Mbappe, then Martial, and then Dembele.

Too many people overhype Martial, while too many criticize him for not being world class playing for a defensive manager when he's 22??? The truth is in between, we have a developing player with world class potential. We have an amazing young core with Lukaku, Pogba, Martial, Rashford, and Lingard. You don't give that up, you add pieces to it.

Arsenal have 0 leverage in this situation. You try to take advantage of it. If they sell him great. If they don't let's hope Sanchez wants to play for us in the summer. Otherwise it wasn't mean't to be, its as simple as that.
