I think he would excel under a different manager, like Guardiola or Sarri or Klopp. It is mourinhos tactics that impede him especially away from home, where it is all about winning 1-0.

He appears to have lost half a yard and looks a shadow of his former self - hard to believe he will get back to the player he was.

Said it already before his first game here. Some players can get away with getting slower but not Sanchez.

Not sure that even China clubs can afford to give him those crazy wages. Besides, why would he go to China?

What are you drama queens on about? That wasn't even near his worst game for us. In fact, I thought he was ok.

I've been a massive critic of his since signing but what was he supposed to do with a tired attack that pressed all game and when we were losing 3-0? Sweet feck all.

He might not be the same player he was at Arsenal but this talk that he's lost a yard of pace is complete Bollox. He's 29 ffs, not 33/34.

Was Rooney 34, or Torres, or Shevchenko or Raul etc etc etc

The fact he never really takes the fullback on is baffling: he used to be one of the best dribblers in the league. Seems like the only thing in his arsenal these days is that appalling chipped pass through the middle.

One of them will go over the defender soon!!

He’s the business case a DOF was based on. No need signing at a time we didn't need him who upset the balance of a winning team at the time we least needed it which resulted in pissing off a future (younger) prospect in the process.

And he’s still at it when it comes to ‘using lots of energy for little or no return’.

So disillusioned with our club right now. I’m off to bed.

Stick him out on the right and hope. He might still be shit but it's unlikely he can be as bad as Mata and he won't be in Rashford's or Martial's way.

I can't even say what I think about Sanchez being the highest paid player in the whole of the UK and possibly Europe . . to think that his wage rivals that of Ronaldo or Messi is stunning and is an indictment against whoever manages player recruitment. We're a laughing stock . .

This guy is just so bad it boggles the mind. Not only is he pretty much the worst player on the squad and gets paid the most...but we have alienated and kicked to the curb a top young player in martial who was just coming into his own before this guy. There were no problems with martial before he came. If I were him I'd be livid too if I had to watch Sanchez's disastrous performances week in week out.

Not only that, we broke our wage structure and gave him a ridiculous contract just to convince him to choose us over City, opening the floodgates for our actual top players to ask for much high salaries themselves.

I really wouldn't mind selling him. We need players on the up. Maybe he'll get it right in time, but it just seems like such a pointless addition given he's lost his burst of pace.

Good luck on him agreeing to a move.

He's not giving up 350k pounds a week without a fight.

Bigger fraud than Di Maria. At least we were able to cut the loss with the snake, Sanchez on other hand, no other european club gonna pay his wage.
Hope Chinese Clubs come knocking the door one day.

We didn't pay all those wages just for 3 goals in something like 20 games. What a disappointment. People were giving excuses about how he desperately needed a full pre season to get back to his best. No, he just isn't good enough. Otherwise we would've seen him make a difference last season but he put in average game after average game.

Signing Sanchez offset Martial and our last season imo. Guy is yet to show anything resembling a players from his Arsenal / uefacelona days. Utterly useless 30 y old on astronomical wages...

I have no doubt this was only done to prevent City from getting him as if it would have somehow hindered them. We didn't need him and we didn't have to give him those ridiculous wages.

Don't agree, Mourinho wanted a world class player thinking that would fix all his problems and pushed for his transfer I think. Another reason why Woodward and the board don't trust Mourinho's transfer targets anymore.

China talks are wishful thinking. Their government have imposed some new law regarding transfer / salary which is why they aren't making crazy signings anymore.

On the other hand, you guys think he's regretting he didn't go the other way, blue way?

I've been a massive fan for as long as I can remember.

Exceptional quality married with a warrior attitude, I was convinced he was a united player and hated seeing him carrying arsenal

Needless to say I was over the moon with the signing but he just looks lost atm like he's a stranger in our side. I don't know the answer but right now it's hard to justify playing him which is crazy given his status in the game and his wages at the club

Yup and by doing so we took some of our fan's biggest excuse from them - "Pep was fully backed".

Remember hoping that his aura would brush of other players...that went to shit. On top of it, he moved a player in decent form from LW position and its still his to this day, regardless of his form, how at the time Sanchez-Lukaku-Mata is better then Martial/Rashford-Lukaku-Sanchez i will never know.

We literally only signed him to piss off City. The exact sort of small-time gesture we used to make fun of them for doing.

I know. We've made a mess of this whole situation. Should have focused on players on the rise.

Will be far worse than the Rooney contract too.

At least Rooney gave us fantastic years.

Sanchez gives us some good piano playing?

No idea what Mourinho/Woodward were thinking.

Probably the worst bit of business we've done since Woodward has been at the club.

Think he needs to play centrally which is where he seemed to play best for Arsenal.

He does look like someone who is in decline already and would have been better for everyone involved if he went to City.

Have you thought about how this post translates to the real world? You genuinely believe we bought one of the leagues best players for the last 3 years, while offloading one of our worse with no transfer fee, then paid him more than any player at the club- to 'piss off' city?

He has flopped badly so far, but thats a shocking post.
