Thought he was pretty average tbh. Will do much better on better pitches and with our better players around him I'm sure.

Normally wouldn’t get excited about a debut against yeovil town but even against amateur opposition, it’s so blatantly obvious he’s a world class player. The touch, the movement, he just stands out. He looked the most comfortable player on the ball by a million miles
Apart from Carrick, Gomes, Lingard, Mata anyway. Yes he did look comfortable on the ball. There were a few decent footballers on that bedraggled piece of turf.

I don't think Jose intends to play him there. I'd love to see him on the right and Martial on the left but I think he'll most likely start on the left most times

I think he will certainly try him all over the attacking line, but my relative fear is that he will be best from that left side cutting in. I say relative fear because it's, of course, the side Martial operates atm.

For now, expect him behind Lukaku for Spurs and in most games until the end of the season with giving him occasionally right and left wing to see how he produces there. He is a little bit erratic for Jose number 10, that's why I have doubts he will play there on a regular basis. Hope he can do the damage and produce good numbers in that position or on the right wing also. Know he has done it in the past, but in recent times he played mostly left wing or even as a striker. We'll see.

Do you mean Pogba, Rashford and ...
It is mostly Rashford. Pogba showed in his last match some selfishness but in general he releases the ball to create for others.
The best thing about Sanchez is the sense of urgency in his play in the final third.
Our players love extra pointless touches and often shy away from cutting/dangerous passes for fear of failure and Sanchez doesn't.

It can mean that he will be frustrating at times with misplaced passes but I'd rather that than another Mata type who plays it safe.

Did you notice how Jose mentioned his decision-making for the second goal and offered the opinion that Rashford would have been too ‘nervous’ to take that option.

Has an interesting style, sort of a playmaker winger with speed. Saw him making crossfield passes from his side all the way to the other side frequently and his ability to turn really quickly is fantastic. We've really got a fantastic player on our hands. Hopefully he scores against Spurs.

Jeff and the other presenters on SkySports News are all laughing and taking the piss at Sanchez getting MOTM.

The ABU in the media has been absolutely ridiculous over the last 2 weeks since being linked with Sanchez.

Gave the ball away a horrendous amount, but even then he was constantly trying to get the ball into the dangerous areas. That's what he's bringing us. We need a player willing to take on those risky passes to open up teams, because Pogba is the only one in the starting 11 that consistently tries them.

Did you see the tweet from Yeovil's Twitter? I would embed it but I'm not a full member yet, so here's a copy paste:

"Alexis7 is announced as man of the match. Not sure who picked it but that's a commercially-driven decision if ever there was one!"

He reminds me of Di Maria in the type, frequency and difficulty of the passes he attempts and how often they don’t come off. Luckily he’s under a different manager for us and the fact he’s a vertebrate is a massive plus.

So many weird people are going to get fed up of him "giving the ball away".

That's what he will do. He'll also create an incredible amount of attacking opportunities.

Last night was a good start.

Thought he was pretty average, particularly with his passing. Expecting some frustrating games but he'll always be trying to make things happen rather than playing safe.

He will give the ball away a lot (maybe a bit less when he fully adapts to the team) but it's just the part of his game. All best players do the same, just look at Ronaldo etc. It's simply because they don't like to play it safe, they try risky passes and not afraid to make decisions. We lacked this type of player for ages now, I think Di Maria was quite similar actually at the start of the season with LVG, he was really good and although lost the ball a lot, he created tons of chances for himself and teammates. Too bad we had LVG in charge who would prefer playing sideways and backwards passes for 90 minutes than allowing players express themselves. Luckily we have Mou who is complete opposite.

Some pundits need to get their heads out of Man City's arse, Had he joined Man City, We'd never hear the end of it in my opinion, I mean, Some of them would say we're in decline etc, But we're the bad ones, Because we bought a world-class player in Sanchez, Some of them don't half piss me off at times, Especially Martin Keown, Twat.

A player comes in and instantly looks the best player on the pitch (which he is), and people moan about giving the ball away? while he is trying to move the play forward? Stop scrutinizing for feck's sake. He created chances and had a lot of key passes, more than anyone else, by far.

Save your energy. People just have to moan

Have they talked about him on Soccer Saturday?

I agree. We have no player in the offensive third with his vision. Players like Lingard and Lukaku will thrive with his passing abilities and risk-taking. He just needs to get to know his new team-mates, and we should hopefully see a big improvement in our attacking play.

Since when did these cnuts become so obsessed with us?

Those who have fears he might be as frustrating as dimaria, i don't think so. Yes he was giving the ball away a lot but it was understandable for his first game for us in a tough away game on a horrible pitch. Our players didn't seem to turn up so he was trying things and basically made First two goals, once he plays with first team regulars and settles in, the pressure goes off and everything comes more natural.

In comparison with di maria, hes got better dribbling and can make better space for himself, so I dont think he will come as erratic. His workrate and commitment on the pitch seem higher always gives everything and he will have a new motivation now.

However what surprised me the most in is his vision, he looked more of a playmaker then I thought, so it will be understandable he will lose the ball sometimes but that's what we were crying for someone who is willing to take the risk and surrounded by clever players making runs like Pogba, Lingard, Lukaku he will find the target more often then not.

I dont know what match you guys saw but my god he was the best player on the pitch if you go by pure quality.
The movement, pace of his game and constant interplay with teammates, it was just amazing.
THAT is the level we should aim for. The way he demanded shaw to overlap

Pogba should take notes on that counter attack. Gets the assist instead of looking for glory on his own. It's what separates the top, experienced players from the rest

I think too much is being made of this Pogba shot against Burnley. People have been going on about it all week. What happens the first time Sanchez takes a shot when he should have passed? Do we need another example? Pogba is not selfish, and has demonstrated creativity on many occasions. I think the criticism is unfair.

Why wouldnt Jose try him on the right considering thats an obvious need?

He tried Jesse on the right though, so that may be more in his thinking, perhaps having Sanchez central.

He's the 910th player to play for United.....the first Chilean & the 17th South American.

If he's the next* new scorer, he'll be the 497th player to score for us.....the first Chilean & the 14th South American [Varela (Uru), Romero (Arg) & Possebon (Bra) never scored for us].

*16 current players have not scored for us.....so #500 could come this season or the next. De Gea has now played 298 games, with no goals #timetogo

Didn’t Angelos Henriquez make any first team appearances?

I like the urgency Sanchez provided in attack, and his willingness to take risks. No matter what went wrong for Sanchez last night, he persevered. Great work ethic and attitude.

Hope to see more of the same against Spurs on Wednesday night.

This is what was said many times in the hazard vs sanchez thread.he is a player that gives the ball away alot he averages about 70% pass completion a match. It's like some have never watched him. You should expect him to continue to have similar performances.

It was a bit rhetorical. Seems odd to me to think the first could be considered as one

Being an avid ice hockey fan now, I’m happy giving Sanchez the assist for the Rashford goal. All about which of our players touched the ball last before the goal scorer

Really? Seems odd to me that it wouldn’t. The way Luis Suarez (for example) dribbles he’ll often bobble the ball off a defender when he goes past them. Seems odd that this would invalidate the pass he received as a potential assist.

I’m not even 100% sure the defender touched the ball anyway. Wasn’t he just shepherding it back to the keeper? I need to see a replay.

It's risk and reward, he tries the hard passes and they don't always work, but when they do he creates a goal I would much rather have that, than somebody who does 5 yard sidways passes ala Cleverley etc.

I don't even know why I bother reading and getting angry at the posters you described. But it's fecking ridiculous.

He did everything I want from a 7. So happy we have him.

Reminds of Tevez with his urgency and style of play. He's really a handful. He's going to be a massive fan favourite.

He’ll have a few of his own iconic number 7 moments. The Ronaldo free kick, the cantina chip, Beckham from his own half, that kind of thing.

I think he did which is why I think it's not an assist. If he didn't then yeah it is an assist.

Thought this was sarcastic until your second sentence. A bit sloppy initially but looked top class and the best player on the pitch once he got going. Really boggles how you came away with average from that showing.
