Our strikers don't make runs because the ball is never crossed early, how many times have we seen wingers or full backs crossing the ball early, not much. Once we get players who can deliver good quality early crosses obviously our tactics would change. The team will make sure of it. I don't get logic of who would be at the end of those crosses argument. We don't take two steps into a problem, we first complete the first step and then solve the next one.
This is a Manchester United forum, not a cult or a church.Would it be possible for someone to create a 'positive statements only' thread in relation to anything utd, just for once? We seem to have the moaniest neediest trolls of any football fan forum.

This is seriously one of the most retarded forum I have ever seen during every transfer window. Some people here just look at a few useless stats (caps for international side, age because 27 is too fecking old etc.) and then call a player shit. They call the Portuguese League shit too because apparently the EPL is significantly better that no players in the Portuguese League could dream of doing well there. Get real, Porto is a fecking regular in the Champions League and Telles is one of their best player while we are no where near the best team in our own league.
You lot are the ones that wanted Sean Longstaff over Bruno Fernandes last summer. Clueless as hell.
Yeah I’ll have a look for the article, I tend to agree, I feel attacking fullbacks are a luxury and in reality very few exist that can attack and defend in equal measure.there was a good piece in the Guardian last week with Nev saying he should not worry too much about the attacking side of his game, to the detriment of his own game if he is not that player (doesn’t say neglect it) Recognise your own strengths as potentially one of the best defenders in the game. Get a right winger and an effective attacking LB
Shaw was there yesterday. Where was Rashford?
Funny how Shaw was moaning about our lack of transfer activity after the Palace game - now it seems like it'll finally happen, with his replacement being signed![]()
There seems to next to no excitement about this.. are we thinking it won’t happen or do we not care? Or are we just drained from the summer![]()
Yep, and fantastically well done by Shaw to do so despite knowing Telles would be signing number 2. Shows he’s a team player who wants to win trophies. He’s majorly gone up in my estimation after that. You'd be very naive to think that Shaw didn't expect a new LB is one of our key priority signing before he opened up to the press.

I'm excited. We had 5 gigantic holes this summer to fill and we'll have filled two if we sign Telles.
LB to challenge Shaw- Telles
Backup for Pogba and Bruno so we never have to see Lingard, Pereira or Mata (sorry, loved ya!) again as a 10/8 - Van De Beek
CB to start next to and carry Maguire mentally and organizationally and let him be the bruiser -
DM to start while McTominay eases into the job as a backup and we evaluate if he can be #1 there -
RW who can create by dribbling or playmaking like Ziyech or Sancho -
Only 3 to go before we have a proper squad for the next manager I reckon
And Rashford has no serious competition at LW (James doesnt count)We also need an other striker or a winger, it seems that the club forgot that Ighalo was only extended until January.

Not one that is good enough to be here though and provide serious competition for the spotIf James is anything, he is a left winger. That's where he looks most comfortable.
Fred should get a chance at the DM role. He played there twice at the end of the season and did much better than McTominay did in his chances, and better than Matic often was.I'm excited. We had 5 gigantic holes this summer to fill and we'll have filled two if we sign Telles.

Pretty much. Not sure why McTominay played over him. Maybe fitnessFred should get a chance at the DM role. He played there twice at the end of the season and did much better than McTominay did in his chances, and better than Matic often was.
Yia I have always thought that Shaw is like Alex Moran from blue mountain state. You'd be very naive to think that Shaw didn't expect a new LB is one of our key priority signing before he opened up to the press.
I agree but I think the 3 positions mentioned by @NoPace take priority. You're right though - for the squad to be really up there amongst the best we need to cover these positions too.We also need an other striker or a winger, it seems that the club forgot that Ighalo was only extended until January.
Turkeys voting for Christmas.Funny how Shaw was moaning about our lack of transfer activity after the Palace game - now it seems like it'll finally happen, with his replacement being signed![]()
Interestingly enough our best cross was from TFM. Perfectly weighted it the far postOur strikers don't make runs because the ball is never crossed early, how many times have we seen wingers or full backs crossing the ball early, not much. I can see Shaw being the type to rise to the challenge of having decent competition for his place.
He needs to stay fit for him to rise to the occasion. Don’t see it happening.I can see Shaw being the type to rise to the challenge of having decent competition for his place.
Are we that desperate for signings that we are pining after Rojo mk. 2?
Every single Champions League winner in the last few years had at least one. Davies, Alexander-Arnold, Marcelo, Dani Alves... if anything, it's essential to have one if you want to challenge for the biggest trophies.Yeah I’ll have a look for the article, I tend to agree, I feel attacking fullbacks are a luxury and in reality very few exist that can attack and defend in equal measure.
I also don’t believe we are geared up for attacking fullbacks until we have adequate cover at DM to fill in when said fullbacks bomb forward. Would be suicide in this current team without adequate additions to accommodate them.
I don't think it's the case with Brazil LB situation. Emerson for all his flaw showed higher ceiling thus deserving more cap for Brazil NT.Of course he’s not playing for Brazil, they have Marcelo and Alex Sandro! A lot of international players stay in squads on reputation so I don’t think that’s a negative for him. He has actually played a game for Brazil but interestingly when I looked it up, he’s also half Italian. Maybe we’re getting the best of both worlds!![]()
Monitoring the situation. No value in the market. Are we still agreeing the fee with the club?!
