Wilshere is the stand out talent, the rest have taken that bit too long to shine?

Bar Chamberlain of course.

I thought young Gibbs has looked a good player, he seems a bit injury prone, which is hampering his development and appearances at Arsenal.

Ramsey, looked very good straight away, again another player with a massive injury setback. But he's gone on loan I think, will be back at Arsenal, and get plenty of 1st team football next season.

Walcott is the example of a player who took some time to settle(some might say this is still an ongoing process)

Exactly. I be you if Ramsey hadn't had his injury he'd be in the same stage of development as Wilshire. Gibbs like you said seems very injury prone but is a decent prospect. I keep forgetting Walcott is only 21 he's been around for so long you'd think he'd be older.

Before Ramsey's injury he looked a phenomenal talent, I would say he looked better than Wilshire (who is also a great talent). Gibbs looks good on a sporadic basis, but Rafael is in another league.

I think Walcott is the one that needs to step up, despite only being 21 he has played over 100 times for Arsenal and looks no better now than probably 3 years ago from what I've seen (bar a couple of random good performances).

I rate Wilshere as by far the better prospect out of the two. Ramsey is a very promising player in his own right but Wilshere is a level above, both now and in terms of future potential...

Nah I'd takes Ramsey over Wilshere. Ramsey was a solid talent looked great before the injury, if given a choice of the two Ramsey it would be for me.

I'm in the same boat, I think Ramsey is offensively outrageously skilled and talented, Wilshere probably has more to his game because he's shown a willingness to track back, do his part as far as defending is concerned. But Ramsey much better going forward.

He´s a bit like Rafael at the moment, Rafael so far makes more plus points by going forward than his work in defence.......it`s all about experience.

He's nowhere like Rafael, he's basically a left winger converted to left back, don't know why he is rated so highly on the Caf, never been that impressive(I know he is young)

This.

Rafael's defensive work is criminally underrated. If Rafael was like Gibbs defensively we'd be leaking a LOT of goals from the right.

Why? As far as I can see he's signed for no one so far and Southampton have yet to accept any bids.

Similar scenario to all the recent promising young players, Ramsey,Walcott,Bale....it'll be down to where theywant to go not about the best bid.

By all accounts Ramsey was offered a huge salary by l'Arse.

That's the way their business model works. They pay youngster much more than other clubs and skimp on salaries for the established stars to make ends meet. That's why their best players are on relatively low salaries, yet their overall wage bill is right up there with Chelsea and United.

Which is why they struggled to hold onto the likes of Cashley, Hleb, Flamini and Adebayor but usually win out in any battle to sign promising youngsters.

That's true to an extent, but not with Ramsey. The fact is that Wenger flew him out so that he could meet him, whilst SAF sent Neville to show him round the training ground. That was why he didn't go to United, he didn't feel wanted enough. We're only paying him about 10k a week, which is similar, I imagine, to what you would pay him.

From reports that I can remember we only offered 6-8 thousand a week, but there is no doubt that sending Neville and not the gaffer had an influence on his decision.

Yep, we certainly offered more than you did to him, but 4k a week is very little in footballing terms. I think the decision was made footballistically at first - ie, how quickly he'd get in the first team, how much he was wanted, and the increased wage would have acted as a sweetener.

I like many others thought that one was in the bag, he was a United fan and all. But I think a few factors came into his decision including financial.

So more money and a shitter team helped him to choose Arsenal, fair enough.

footballistically

Deserved a quote of it's own.

So yes, Ramsey joined the club that offered him the highest salary. About 50% higher, apparently.

Miracle retard strikes again.

You just read what you want to read. Your post implied that he went to Arsenal for the money, as opposed to for football. I corrected it, because it was wrong.
