Alejandro Garnacho (out)

If Napoli sell Kvaratskheli they have the money for Garnacho. I'm fine with selling him for 50+ as long as we're signing Cunha and a LWB.

He’s a good player, especially for his age, but I struggle to see how he gets to the required level with such big weaknesses in his game.

If we get a decent offer 50-60m, and factoring in the hole we’re in financially, I’d look at cashing in

Will be sad to see him go, and no doubt he'll go on to become a very capable winger, probably even come back to haunt us at some stage, but I can't see this going any other way. From an INEOS perspective, they have an asset that will depreciate in value the longer he spends as a sub, who doesn't quite fit into the new system of the manager they brought in. Amorim will want players that fit. No ifs, no buts, no waiting on potential. He will hold no sentiment toward any of the players he's inherited.

Part of me feels like it's time for the club to start practising what they've been preaching about moving in a new direction, and it's a shame that Garnacho may be one of the players that falls victim to club's sheer ineptitude they've demonstrated these past few years, because ideally, he'd be settled into a system that gives him free reign down that left-wing, and we'd be the ones to reap the rewards of a prime Garnacho, but I feel like it's going to be a case of the one who got away. Hope I'm wrong.

10/10 performance for the last 20 he comes on today, please.
I think you're probably right sadly.

I don't like selling our best young players but if we get a large fee for him I can excuse this one. He can still offer us something for sure but for 60m+ we can probably sort out 2 positions in this team.

He has great qualities but isn't a natural fit as a 10.

It would be insane if we let him go and I would really begin to question what direction we are headed in as a club if we let him go now. Yes he has some bad traits in his game but may I remind everyone that he is 20 years old!!! He has barely even started his career and we're ready to give up on him? Even with all he has already shown us? I just cannot understand why on earth we would even entertain offers for him.
Unless he plans on becoming a LWB there’s no future for him at United because he’s terrible in the 10s.

I think it would be a mistake for us to let him go after really just 18 months of gametime. There is a great deal of potential there and we need to exercise patience and allow him to work with Amorim. The kid is not even 21 yet. Cannot believe that we would be willing to entertain any offers for him at this stage. I'd be exasperated if we let him go.
Totally agree. We have to keep him.

PSR and FFP. We need to sell in order to buy and restructure the squad. Garnacho qualifies as home grown and is pure profit.

PSR is changing the football landscape. Days of homegrown players staying at their first club might very well be over and it's a shame.

I'd personally like him to stay and I think it would be madness to sell him for less that £70mil (promise of potential and all that jazz).

Same. Could be wrong but I do feel the noise around the finances points towards a big sale this month or in the summer. I'd rather that be Rashford but I reckon we're reliant on him having a brilliant loan for that. So I fear it's looking like Garnacho simply given he isn't a natural fit for the formation (or at least doesn't look presently like he is).

I'd rather that not be the case but that's my hunch.

Would not sell him yet. He is young, but has that fire in him to improve and be a top player. Selling him would be a mistake, selling him for 50m a joke considering his potential.

He doesn't fit and the money would be incredibly helpful to us right now. No brainer at the right price for me.

Think the point is £50m isn't the right price. He's a frustrating player right now but has the potential to be world class, we should be looking for £75m in this market.

Personally I wouldn't be completely against selling him. But £50 mil seems like a relatively low price for him considering the infamous United tax and how good of a replacement we can get for him for that money. Although Napoli did just supposedly agree on a not-so-different sum for the outgoing, better player.

Obviously a swap (+ cash) for Kvaratskhelia would've been ideal. Osimhen wouldn't be the end of the world either. But not straight cash if it's that low of an amount! And yeah, I know that swap deals almost never happen.

I wouldn’t be surprised if there will be a sell-on clause included as part of the £50m deal..

It might given the financial position but personally I'd want and expect more than £42m.
Absolutely worth more when you have clubs like Citeh spending 40m on unknown teenage CB's.

He's put up better numbers this season in less minutes than the guy he would be replacing too and Napoli have a 80m tag on him.

If Garnacho were playing for Benfica he'd be getting quoted at 80m+ with his production at his age

The difference is that Garnacho isn’t being linked to any top European sides known having deep pockets.

If he and Rash leaves that is insane amount of money to spend since both are our own.

But it’s also selling a bit of the soul of United. They are two of biggest talented we produced the last decade. We are proud of our own.

I guess City would love to have back Palmer, but he flourished in Chelsea. I guess he would never gotten the chance under Pep. Sometimes that’s life. Garnacho is no pressing machine and is really delicate. Nothing like the players Amorim prefer.

Maybe it’s a win win for everyone. But heck we need to buy players up front if they leave.

If he does go, have a feeling he'll be a hot commodity in 2 years time or so
