Alas poor Carrick...WTF has happened?

Pussied out today, got muscled a lot and failed to win a fair few 50/50's. Not as good as he was last season.

Aye, looked a little pale. Still, nothing to moan too loudly about - he was alright, especially given that we probably rushed him back a bit for the big match. He'll be hitting serious form soon enough.

The way he started the game, I thought he could put one of best performances from United player this year, but he faded later for some reason.

Wasn't fully fit by all accounts and it showed. Looked hesitant to challenge for the 50-50 balls at times and generally less effort on the defensive end. The international break will do him a world of good.

He did his achilles twice in the 09-10 season and you all have memories of how he performed then. Not an easy injury to carry and play through.

Hopefully it's not like back then when he needed surgery in the summer; and a couple of weeks out sorts his problem.

Might explain why he kept pussying out of every 50-50 ball. That started to get really annoying.

Bit of a special case. Moyes knows the midfield is weak, so I'm sure he'll have insisted his best player in that position be tied down.

Regardless, I think as long as Moyes and the club want Carrick he'll always be here. If that means he has to sign a contract for 12 months, I'm sure he would.

Not good news. Hasn't been on top form this season but has still comfortably been our best midfielder.

If this was last season I'd have shat myself but our best performances recently have come without Carrick in the team, was pointless to patch him up for Arsenal.

We have a lot of games in December, feck. :(

Jones, Fellaini, Anderson, Cleverly and Giggs occasionally should be enough depth to get us through.

We'll miss Carrick, but this was inevitable. He's 32 now, so it'll also give us a taste of what life will be without him for a while. The club really needs to start thinking about a potential replacement for Carrick, never mind Scholes.

We are Manchester United, we will live on without Carrick for a few games.

I'm not really that fussed TBH. I reckon Jones, Fellaini and Cleverley will do a great job there in his absence.

Terrible, terrible news. It'll be OK for the smaller games but for games such as Spurs (a), Leverkusen (a) and even Everton I think it'll be made apparent that we're missing Carrick. I hope I'm wrong but we'll see.
Fellaini really needs to step up now.
