Kevin's post should easily win the post of the year award. It's so stupid and meaningless that is actually quite funny.

Maybe berry berry shrew is his version of duck duck goose. it still wouldnt make sense though.

Everyone staking a claim on the kid who just wants to focus on cementing his place in our first team. I think his agent said they've dedicated whole TV programmes to convincing him to opt for Albania over there. Unnecessary pressure, but he doesn't seem fazed.

Is there any chance he would not renew his contract with us? Bayern and Juventus are lurking around, surely we all know he will have better opportunities and set up here for his necessary growth as a player, but that's what we all thought when we have players like Fabregas and Thiago linking with us in the summer too...

(Ok perhaps chance of Januzaj staying here would be much higher, but I am losing more confidence the longer the contract situation hasn't been solved. How comes we always leave this so late?)

I think that remains to be seen. Most of the talk has come since the Sunderland game.

Well yeah, I kind of agree, but what I meant in regard to him not seeming fazed was that the added pressure, which pretty much blew up like a storm in a teacup, doesn't seem to be forcing him to make an NT decision any sooner than he's comfortable with. He had the club release that statement on his behalf saying that he isn't ready to make a decision yet, until he's starting regularly for us, which has been his stance all along.

Also what we've seen from him so far suggests that he is a very strong character. Best player in the U18s at the start of last season, moved up to the U21s half way through, and in little to no time became their best player putting in dominant performances earning him reserve player of the year despite just half a season with them, and a spot on the tour this summer. The same mentality has carried him through to now be starting games for the first team, and not just playing well, but putting in dominant performances when were on the back foot. It's been a massive twelve months and he's handled every stage fantastically.

Rooney also said after the Sunderland game: "there was big pressure on us, but the manager has trusted him and he has repaid that. He's very confident, that's great to see. A lot of the young players who come through are a little bit timid and shy, but he looks comfortable and he's confident in his own ability, which you need to be. It was a brave move to play him in the circumstances and we're delighted it's paid off."

As an aside, I trust Moyes and the club to look after him and keep his feet on the ground. I remember th paps following Rooney and Coleen around in their school uniform when he was at Everton and Moyes seemed to manage to keep him focused on his football.

He has to play next weekend. One of the few wide players not involved internationally, so we should take age out of the equation and slot him in.

Reports in the media suggest his people are asking for £20k p/w plus a £100k sweetener - doesn't seem massively unreasonable to me, if true...
