Arent his parents Albanian? In which case that must be a viable option, no? I would have thought the nationality of your parents is quite an important factor in determining where your own national loyalties lie.
True and that's something I would like to see, him playing for Albania, just don't think it will happen.
His parents have strong connections with Albania, but it's questionable how much of Albanian does he feel since he's been born and raised in another country.
It's just my opinion he'll choose England or Belgium, for this reason(s) above and since both these teams are much stronger and have bigger chance of going to World Cup or European Championship than Albania.
Would really like him to play for Albania, but just can't see it happening.
It seems very unlikely he'll pick England. I'd be willing to bet on it it's such a long shot. He hasn't been here nearly long enough to feel English, unless he's a rampant anglophile. Even if he was an alien, Belgium is a far better fit for him anyway. They're actually a good team.
Incidentally, this is now my favorite video...
He was in Sydney in July. He went to the zoo and touched a koala, that should be enough for a link with the Socceroos surely?
Yes I agree it does tend to work that way. Same with Welbeck choosing England over Ghana. I guess it depends how much time you have spent visiting the country your parents are from, how close you are with your family there, how important that culture has been in your upbringing, in conjunction with the English / British one you are surrounded by. I have no idea what the answers to any of these are for Januzaj. My guess is he will go for Belgium. But Id imagine Albania would be more likely than England - though maybe Im wrong.

maybe he's just not interested in international football and wants to concentrate on his club career.
I really couldn't give a flying holy feck about any of this bollocks as long as he signs a new contract here. I couldn't give a toss if he wants to play for poxy jupiter.
Unless he has an Irish grandparent.
If he stays he could be a huge part of this team very soon. I love that he's a little fighter too. After his OT debut, in the interview with MUTV he spoke about how important the OT crowd were, how he felt they gave him 'power' because he knew that they were behind him and wanted him to do well so it made it easier for him.
I wondered if we would take him along to a few aways so he got used to different atmospheres without playing (I know he had travelled with the team before) but I'm glad Moyes threw caution to the wind and decided to put him straight in. He handled it brilliantly. I predicted in preseason that he wouldn't go on loan and Moyes would give him games, and I knew he would take his chance when given it. His maturity and 'responsibility' on the pitch has been impressive at every level he's played at.
I look forward to his Champions league debut next
He is eligible for the next game iirc.
Anyone who read Ross Barkleys interview in the Guardian last week will see how he said he owes a lot to David Moyes for looking after him etc. I'm sure Moyes will do the same with Adnan. United is a huge club where the spotlight on him will be massive now. Nice to see the older players taking him under his wing too.
I see him maturing as our future number 10.

If he signs a new contract with us I really think he could become our next great #7. He's not traditionally a winger of course but if he develops like we expect him to, I can see him turning into a roaming type player who drifts from wing to wing, or behind the striker. Don't know who would be more suited to being #7 at united as well then he is.
Also I don't think there's a chance in hell he'll pick England. Why would he? He was born in Belgium, grew up there, and they currently play a much better brand of football there england and are overall a better nation football wise now, and will probably be these next 5 years at least. The only debate for who he will pick IMO is between Albania and Belgium, and that depends on how strong his ties are to Albania and if it looks like they'll ever have a chance on making it somewhere.
I think he's mentally ready to be a main team player. I hope he can get 30 plus starts.
Great point, it's just strange that he hasn't chosen anything really...all despite the fact that he has played for the junior Albanian NTs

Pogba quit Old Trafford for Juve for nothing when United failed to meet his wage demands.
And since then the French midfielder has gone from strength to strength.
Juve general director Giuseppe Moratta is predicting a similar tale for United's latest wonderkid, if they don't act fast.
Moratta said: "If they fear another case like Pogba's then they are right. It's difficult to understand how we can reach a stage eight months prior to the contract expiring without seeing a renewal.
"Januzaj is a player showing big promise. He is a player of great quality."
I wonder if they'll push for him to hit the gym.He is just short of 6ft and so i reckon he can afford to bulk up a bit.He is currently pretty hard to dispossess and with some extra physical strength he'll be some opposition.I am not thinking to the extremes Ronaldo went to but I think the club will push him in that direction and he will fill out naturally as he gets older too.
Also there's a feeling that if he signs a new contract, he'll give us a couple of good years before making the step up to one of Spains elite (that coming from the newbs!) Is this the way we feel about United now and top young players?
Nope. Januzaj hasn't ever played for a junior national team.
We might lose him. Excited by our team who do contract renewals. The vultures are circling.
This is the same guy who announced Nani's renewal before United.

Berry berry shrew, after the Pogba lesson (and us profiting just a summer ago from such a situation) and in this day and age with greedy parents and Bieber-like teenagers who can't think intelligently for themselves, you let a promising talent's contract run up to the last year.
Berry berry shrew indeed, electrifying situation.
The ones who are saying calm down and act all cocksure will be the same ones who will cobtribute heavily to the upcoming thread of "falling out of love with The Game".
