Adnan Januzaj

Sounds good, and tbf to the Guardian they are a bit more reliable than the sources all scaremongering that he's on his way out.

If he's getting games here, which now looks likely, and he's going to get offered ££ then why would he leave? He's at a top club and even if he wanted to move down the line he could easily do a Ronaldo and leave in his early 20's.

I saw the photo of Januzaj and the other players at the NBA game and it genuinely made me wonder if he could even consider leaving. I mean, you're an 18 year old lad, hanging around with senior, superstar footballers and getting a taste of the life that awaits.

I like the way it is going, with the other players taking him under their wing and actually spending time with him away from football and making him feel a part of it. It'd be a massive decision for him to give all that up at this stage. He's got all the support around him to be a success here.

The good thing is, that this time around all the noises are sounding like he will sign a new contract. With the Pogba situation, all the rumours were that he was going to leave.

I never even had a doubt he would leave, where as with Pogba it all felt uncertain.

I would be shocked if the lad suddenly just ran his contract down and left.

We have given him everything so far, he is working his way into the first team, what more could he want?

I recall there was a strong rumour at one point that Pogba had signed a 5 year contract with us, however that turned out to BS.

Yep, quality stuff from the senior players.

All depends on who's bending his ear and how easily he can be influenced. If his dad, for example, advises him to go to another club, it would likely carry some weight.

It seems his dad has him pretty focused on his career and as it stands right now he couldn't be in a better place.

If the likes of Barca are attractive he could always join them later, why go now and risk ending up like Afellay or Alexis Sánchez?

If it were all about glory surely he would have plumped for Belgium in a desperate bid to make it to the World Cup next year?

Everything indicates if he is given the games his performances deserve and there's a decent offer on the table he will sign on.

Yep. It's been pretty good.

Both RVP and Rooney praised him on their Instagram and Twitter accounts respectively.

He's getting match chances, the manager praises him in every interview and he's playing at Man Utd, I'm not sure why would he want to leave, but we don't know about players.

Injured in Ibi's case or a starter in that of the Chilean? No youth player whose come to the club has seen their career suffer

There are plenty of incentives for a challenge like Barcelona, especially if you're ambitious - I never quite understood people who argued the opposite and failed to see this as an equally compelling choice

The NT choice is an interesting one, makes me wonder if his Balkan heritage lends itself to political/cultural issues. I don't buy the 'wanting to focus on his professional career' line.

Could be as simple as that, you have to say his dad/agent haven't really demonstrated anything less than consummate professionalism wrt his status. Many agents would be starting a bidding war

Barcalona are a club at least as well known as ourselves for giving youth players a chance. To say otherwise is ludicrous. That said, the point made about Adnan being better off staying at United is correct for now at least. He's getting his chances and taking them well, even if he signs a 5 year deal he could easily leave in 3-4 years if he wanted to at that point and he's still a very very young player.

Exactly. If you go to another club, no matter their record with youngsters, you have to earn that trust all over again. Given that he seems to have won Moyes over, it would make no sense to go anywhere else.

Sanchez has been up and down and struggled for a long time. Afellay got injured, indeed, but you moved on. You come in and get injured or don't cut it and it's on to the next flavour of the month. There's no way Barca would hang on to the likes of Anderson waiting for them to come good for as long as we have. That's one massive difference I would consider as a young player, Barca are not going to wait around or nurse anyone. Compare how we've dealt with Fletcher and how you've dealt with Abidal.

I don't mean to paint Barca as some sort of career destroyer, by no means, but he is quite blatantly better off and more likely to find his feet, play regularly and develop here than there. He's on course and it makes no sense to start all over again with the risks that involves.

His dad probably wants him to play for Albania but is in no rush to throw him into the deep end as some sort of saviour. If anything that works in our favour having Giggs around and showing him the upside of possibly missing out on most top tournaments is a longer career at the top.

Whilst Barcelona have a great record with young talent but there also cases like Keirrison and Henrique which inspite of being signed for decent amount of money, never got any chances at Barcelona.

Obviously Barcelona will be attractive to Adnan but I think United is the best option for him right now.

Keirrison & Henrique never played with Barcelona though

They did sign for Barcelona though and were instead sent on loans rather than given a proper chance.

Which is the point, there are no guarantees. Here he has a pretty clear idea of how things will pan out and he avoids the upheaval of moving. I mentioned Sanchez earlier, not because you screwed him or anything, just because it's a clear example of someone hitting top, possibly World Class, form and then going into transition/adaptation after a move. At 18 I would avoid that like the plague, let alone the 6 months in the wilderness some already argue he should get if he doesn't sign by Jan/Feb (I disagree on dropping him entirely, but I certainly would put more focus on Zaha).

Don't tinker with it if it ain't broken.

If he hasn't signed a contract by January we should put a saddle on him and let Anderson ride him like a horse around the training pitch every day. That'll teach him.

Hypothetically, of course.

We want to get his signature, not kill the lad.

His tweets with KP remind me a hellofalot of my Gunnar supporting mate whom I am constantly correcting on football matters.

Haha. Should have corrected me. Be more ironic.

Blame mobile.

Don't know if this as already been posted.

Much has been talked about Januzaj’s new contract for Red Devils. However his agent has rubbished all the rumors but has warned Manchester United big time.
He claimed:
“These figures (50k-60 a week) have not come from us as I see no reason why we would leak this kind of information to the press,”
“Manchester United have wanted to discuss a new deal for the Albanian Belgian for a while now but due to the retirement of Sir Alex Ferguson and Adnan not being in a rush to sign a new deal, this has been delayed.”
“If by 1 January no new deal has been signed, Adnan is free to speak to other clubs.”

Sounds misquoted again from the other article, the second line reads like it's taken from the author rather than the agent.

Anyway, the comments on that article are great.

Moyes,if u must excell in united,u have to bring in a man who is already familiar with the team. And who is that man?Meusteleen. He is d solution to man united retardation.Keepin ur bunch of nobody to help u out is never gonna help you.speakin of adnan januzaj,do not slack over the issue and snap him up,cos vultures are really gatherin’.Just man up as fast as you can

Can someone ask moyes wat anderson is stil doing in man utd.u r overusing rooney 4 christ sake gv him a break n allow kagawa 2 play behind RVP.gosh u r d dummest coach in premiership even paolo di canio has a foresight than u.we dnt nid all d midfielders u r chasing bt we only 1 center back n maybe a left back.as a coach u r nt suppose 2 keep grudge if zaha slept wit ur daughter so wat if doesnt sum1 else will.

That’s being too much rude i think David has made a number of mistakes in his first games as Man Utd manager mostly through too much rotation of his squad which has really coasted him and all of us as Man Utd fans.
my only prayer is that he stops this as soon as possible or else he is likely to face a disaster which will cost him much more in reputation and results. other wise i still have hope in him as a coach.
other big mistakes 1 why not use Zaha? plz if there is any way my letter can be posted where David M can read this i kindly as a strong supporter of Man utd ask David to find where to field these lads 1 Zaha 2 Adnan 3 kagawa on top of Rooney, RVP, Rafael, Evans clevary , Carri ck Vidic , Evra and De Gea.

Mr David moyes! U must make sure u keep januzaj as well as other united young stars like zaha, kagawa, powel and others cos they are really promising. More over u did not sign any so make do with what u have. Ur training is too hard, it causes injuries and tiredness in the players dats y we hav’nt performed wel since u came!

Well, a lot of it has been said by posters here, although in a more legible way.

Love this one: "Meusteleen. He is d solution to man united retardation"

Where's that from? I don't really understand it - is it supposed to be the agent saying those things, or what is going on? Surely it can't be the agent referring to Januzaj as "the Albanian Belgian".

Its convenient that he is now making these statements -- since Fergie is gone and will not respond for the sake of Moyes.

These quotes have been posted two-three pages back. Surely people can look in the last two-three pages instead of posting the same quotes over and over again.

He was in Sydney in July. He went to the zoo and touched a koala, that should be enough for a link with the Socceroos surely?
