Adnan Januzaj

It'd put him ahead of the likes of Büttner, and lord knows he deserves more money than him.

But yeah, pretty sure the reported wage is bollocks, think his agent laughed it off.

Not sure how accurate this is, but I cropped a screen grab off the page above.

£50k would put him on either above, on par with or close to a lot of relatively senior players, but if the Zaha figure is true and he's on£35k then if Adnan continues how he's going I can see it being in that region.

i do admire the stance but when do you draw the line? I mean can you constantly let talent like that leave? Its not like Barca where they all are from there and want to go back eventually. We take talented kids from around Europe because we unfortunately don't get enough local talent that will stay loyal or want to come back should they leave as youngsters. Barca have that luxury but we don't

I don't think it is a significant problem. We basically lost one chap we didn't want to lose.

One.

Playing ball over ridiculous contract clauses is likely to do more long term harm than losing some French chap who was rather good but simply wasn't committed to United.

Vida and Carrick are on low wages if these are accurate. Ashley young on the other hand, cnut's stealing a living.

Young's wages add more strength to Januzaj's negotiations too. If that useless cnut is bringing that much home every week...

Ashley fecking Young. :(

Even if we wanted to move him on we'd really struggle to get anyone mental enough to pay those wages. His contract is up next summer though so that should free up some cash as surely he won't be offered anywhere near the same amount. If needs be I'd let him go on a free next year.

Not sure who is taking the piss the most, after Young of course, Fletcher on 80K has good reasons but Ando????

Based on that 40K would be reasonable. Christ, every week he doesn't sign on he carries on making 1K, surely that should be more relevant than some unnecessary nonsense clause?

I'm pretty sure his wages are so high due to his signing on fee being payed in weekly supplements.

I can't believe those Young wages are correct, just no way we'd pay a limited player like him that kind of money.

As for Januzaj, he seems very level headed so hopefully he will sign a 5 year contract, but you always have to worry about the damn agents and their selfish motivations.

Sets a precedent though does it not?

No it doesn't. What would set a precedent is doing things differently, not the fact doing things our way didn't work once. What's the precedent? Pogba did well for himself moving on? Anyone with half a brain would know he was bound to get a good run last season. He was helped by moving to a more packed midfield as well, not having to master the art of partnering Carrick. That is all irrelevant here, each player is a different story.

It's actually imperative the deadwood gets moved on soon. It's an unnecessary drain on resources, though I understand Moyes wanting to keep the squad together to assess it himself in his first season here. But fecking hell Ashley Young.

This always strikes me as odd too. Players on really low money stalling on signing big money contracts over a few quid when they are losing money hand over fist on the old contract. FFS, he could break his leg now or get ill so surely it's in his best interests to get a 5 year big money deal signed ASAP and then focus 100% on the football.

So we'd end up paying that even if we did sell him.

I actually looked again and it's 2015 that he's up so we could move him on in Jan or next summer and use that ££ to pay the likes of Adnan.

There is little to no way Young is on that much.

Feeky said above that it could be a combination of wages and sign on bonus spread out over the duration of the contract which is quite possible. At the end of the day, he was an 18m signing and was expected to go straight into the first team.

It's not like it was a free transfer. Let's assume he would be level with Valencia (despite being complete dogshite), that's a 7-8M signing on fee.

The problem I see is we may have to pay someone to take him off our books. Is there anyone out there who would be willing to pay him half what we do? With three years remaining that's 9.5M knocked off whatever his fee would be.

His contract is up in 2015 and the earliest we would be selling would be next summer. We'd surely recoup some of that on a transfer fee and with only one year left on his contract I can't see Young wanting to hang around if he's not wanted and not playing.

I can't believe that Buttner is getting paid £15k a week more than he's worth.

From that perspective the January window could present a real opportunity to move him on and try get himself into the England WC squad.

It's worse, he actually complains about it and how we are stopping him from making the Dutch WC squad. Are they so desperate or have they been smoking too much weed?

 I refuse to believe Ashley Young is on 120k. No way can he be on more than vidic at 90k either.

He'd be on more than everyone bar van Persie and Rooney. It's most certainly nonsense, he's probably on something like £80k a week (still £78k more than he merits).

Darren fletcher is on an insane amount considering everything.
Yup. He's been a good servant to the club so I don't mind but by the end of his contract he'll have picked up about £15m basically without playing any football for 4 years. Mind you, he'd have much rather be healthy and play so I don't mind (unlike Hargreaves who wasn't really bothered).

Buttner isn't happy? He just signed another contract with us a year after joining, didn't he?

I may be behind on the news, last I read about him (other than "wtf is he doing on the pitch????") his agent was banging on about him being stalled by not having gone on loan, assuming it meant he was an important player and such shite.

Exactly how I feel about it, Fat Ando on the other hand... If only we could get all his excess weight onto Fletcher we would be spoilt for choice in midfield.

I don't think that Hargreaves bit is true at all. He said some shit about the club/physios when he left etc but I don't think we should be making such assumptions. By all accounts, Hargreaves was a good trainer & professional. Very similar to a fletcher on the field - a fighter & a winner.

I'm sure he was gutted he didn't play, unlike some guys who'd willingly sit on the bench & get paid.

The worst thing about young isn't his massive undeserved salary, i don't pay it so i don't care, it's the fact that we are stuck with him for another 3 years, i don't think he'd mind playing for the reserves with that salary, fecking hell, even ben amos should be pissed reading this.
