Important Update

Thanks!

Last game against West Brom he was decent bit nothing incredible, the one moment which sticks in my mind was the brilliant but of play and cross onto Rafael who wad narrowly denied by a great save. Love the lad and hope he continues to get games but wouldn't mind seeing kagawa get a game now we seem to have picked up a bit and are playing more possession football.

Wasn't Sterling absolutely dog shite for a period of time after first bursting onto the scene?

Not dog shite, but he was average, aye. It's a wake up call to those who were calling him a bigger talent than Neymar and Gotze, but he's still a top prospect and most young players go through this type of period.

Moyes did say a while ago that Adnan will have to be carefully nurtured and would suffer a dip in form at some point due to his young age. He's had to play him more than he wanted to at this stage, due to injuries.

He's overachieved in his first full season as far as I'm concerned. How many people expected him to get to this level so soon?

He can play with freedom for a bit now, it's next season where it all really starts again and becomes a lot more real. I imagine he'll turn up on our screens during pre-season where we'll remember that he is an insanely good young talent. Lots of work to do still but he's just got 'it'.

Yeh he's definitely gone off the boil recently but still turning in 6s and 7s out of 10s. As many have already said it's to be expected with young players though. Nothing to worry about.

Agreed, especially due to the amount of appearances he's already made, remarkable really, from not playing last season to being a regular now, I wonder if we've promoted any other youth players (Of a similar age/situation, whereby they hadn't made first team appearances) then the next season, they are almost crucial to the XI...

I just went and searched both Neymar and Gotze in all the Sterling threads and no-one said that.

Neymar was only mentioned once and it was by a Liverpool fan (Soirse or summat?) and even he wasn't saying he was a bigger talent/prospect.

He's making poor decisions at key moments. There have been too many instances in his last few games when he beats his man and gets into a dangerous position, but fails to make it count by picking the wrong pass or not going for goal himself, or by keeping the ball for too long and eventually getting dispossessed.

It's not unnatural for a young player who lacks experience, but I hope those issues are being addressed in training. He needs to develop a hunger for numbers, too. Goals, assists, key passes - he's not notching them up as quickly as someone of his calibre should.

He made 2 or 3 appearances in 90/91 and was 17/18 and the following season at Januzaj's age hit 4 in 38 games, good company he finds himself in...
interesting you see adnan as giggsy's successor? (successor may not be right word there lol)

I think he should play on the right hand side wherever possible, would be more threatening there than on the left.

He's been below par recently. Until we see what Nani can do, Adnan is still our best winger, so should be playing ahead of the others. He is capable of switching wings which is a big tactical plus during games.

He isnt a winger imo

That's the saddest part about it really.

That is my opinion too. As a winger he just isn't ever going to reach the same heights he can reach centrally. Some basics like explosiveness, pace and dribbling isn't where it has to be for him to reach a Nani/Robben/Silva in efficiency out wide.

Those traits are of the type that players almost never improve them once they get in to a top-club as a starter.

As he's our fourth choice as an AM and our central midfield is so terrible, I'd love to give Januzaj a chance there. His dribbling is only bested by Iniesta pretty much as a central midfielder and his passing range is outstanding too.

He has the stamina, pace and alertness needed to play as the creative box to box role a la Modric. Januzaj also has played as a CM enough in his career too, to at least try it out.

It is possible it'd require a DM-CM-CM midfield, but I think even that would be worth it for Januzaj to find a central role to grow in to for the coming decade.

He's already far, far more effective than Nani has been out wide for the past two/three seasons.

not sure what you mean by that. nani had 3 goals and 5 assists last season and 8 goals and 10 assists two seasons ago. (from stats i saw) perhaps you mean effectiveness in a different way

Why are you calling Nani the Pea-King, Chicharito is the Little Pea, and Nani is the Pea-King? does that mean Nani can pull rank on Hernandez

Chicaritos real name is Little Peach, his nickname is Little Pea. So Nani can indeed pull the Pea-King rank on the Pea-princess.

"Hes better than Ronaldo was at his age."

"Hes the best 18 year old player i have ever seen."

"Hes key to United's future."

:lol::lol::lol::lol::lol::lol:

Yea lol let's criticise the 19 year old kid for failing against Liverpool when our glorified strikers and Mata looked like pub players today :lol::lol::lol:

He'll be a tip top player in a couple of seasons. Right now he's being overrated which could lead to his downfall. Leave him alone and let him develop

Invisible the past 3 games, bar falling down a lot and handling. Might cause the Caf to explode but he should've been benched and Young, kagawa or Blackwell started over him.

Young lad in not ready to be in the first team full-time and not used well by clueless desperate manager shocker.

Looked wafer thin and weak as anything today, spending too much time going to ground.

Looked a boy amongst men today, but then it was a pretty darn poor performance.

At times, if he'd been any wider, he'd have been in the crowd.

What in the feck is a Blackwell?
