Adidas To Launch United Originals.

Fecking hell, they really do pay attention don't they.

Would like to see yellow and green Newton Heath style

Something like this (with the blue stripe also yellow). Have 3 pairs of those Onitsuka Tiger shoes at home and they are the best, especially because 90% of the people are stupid and don't know what brand this is.

As someone who has spent a lot of time photographing objects like these trainers for work, I'd hazard a bet that the blue is actually much truer to the shade of the kit work in '68 than it appears in the photos. Not that any of us are likely to see a pair in the flesh.

So they came out .... apparently. Not only did Adidas not inform of details of where and when at all.....they are already all flying on eBay.

seems that Size in Manchester had 135 pairs to sell on a first come first served basis this morning. Adidas sent me an email saying that they will email within the next 2 weeks to tell me when and where they are available to buy online.

Odd that they have a staggered release though

So it is the same shade of blue as the 1968 shirt then, I see. Walked past Size this morning, shame I missed this investment opportunity.

All selling for 900 quid upwards on ebay. feck me, people are thick with money.

How about this? I bought these for 35 quid off Schuh a few months back, probably have the more fitting colours than the Stretfords, but ye know, who cares about that? They don't have the word "STRETFORD" blazed across them.

If they do the 86-88 shirt, I'm all over it, feck where the money is going to. Tempted enough by the 80-82 they have out already.

They're much nicer! Although at first glance they do look like they have Benitez written on the side

Horrible style of shoe. Do you wear flair jeans, an open necked brown polo, running style sunglasses and gel your hair too?

Why do the classic stuff on the Adidas site have 2 boots on the top of the United logo/badge? Looks very odd to me.

I thought signing up with Adidas meant that they will inform us when they go on sale?

@Lynk Those are filthy :devil:

Same here. Come to think about it, when I see the prices at eBay it would be tempting to try to flog a pair if I get them at retail..

Yeah man, me too. As far as terrace trainers go they're right up there. (Nothing will ever beat the trimm trabs though )

Green and yellow Sambas (super) look great and all. Thing is as you said they are terrace trainers and if some want the latest hipster fashion they ought to look elsewhere.

The boots were added to the crest in the late 70s when Admiral made the kits. Adidas added their three stripes to them in 1984.

Saw the classic jersey (one with the collar) in a shop here in Singapore yesterday and I really liked it. Great quality material and a good fit. $100 is steep but it's something you could wear until it fell apart. Love that tshirt with the black colour and the white stripe as well - Adidas are going to break me.

All the '85 stuff is 50% now. Gah, ordered a trackie top. Be rude not to. That cup final is one of my oldest and fondest memories.

The reaction alone to these trainers proves what a massive mistake Adidas has made, okay we won the European cup in 68 wearing blue, it's not the colour you associate with United though.
Controversial limited edition? Marketing genius!
There's no publicity in selling red/white/black United sneakers.

I see adidas have released some new originals gear...

That track top is a beauty. I usually don't like wearing red shirts but when combined with black, that's a lovely combo.

I used to have that tracksuit (or very similar, don't remember the red lower arms.) I wore that top to death.

Yeah I think that tracky top had black arms
