Adam Johnson Looking For A Way Out

Richards is crap. Stick Smalling there and pull Cahill in CD. Smalling's versatility might see him go the same route as Brown, shuffled all over the defense. There's also that Walker kid at Spurs.

Could also stick Albrighton on the right wing.

Richards has looked like a cracking player so far. He's more disciplined to match his athleticism. Rate him higher than the other options. I also don't want to move Smalling out to the right because I don't want him to be a Brown - i.e. positionless. He's fine where he's at now because Rafael is out - but I think in the long term, you'll see Smalling move to CB, Rafeal out right, Fabio out left, Evans to CB, and Jones in the defensive midfield slot.

Agbonlahor?

Gabby has been immense this season. He has speed, goal scoring ability, and has learned how to pick a pass. All three starters up top could switch out wide or play through the middle. I hope we move away from the big, burly center forward. Have Bent on the bench, but we are more dynamic now.

Saying that... I did forget Danny Boy so please switch him with Gabby and reserve Gabby for the burst of speed at the end of the game... Sorry Danny :nervous:

I wonder if that figure is dependant on playing time, or success.

90 grand a week for a player that barely makes the bench. Utter madness.

He'll go the same way as SWP did at Chelsea, i.e. nowhere. Shame because I rated him as a player.

It's a real shame to see players like Johnson and Nasri, young players who should be playing every week because of their talent, yet they're warming the bench at City.

I suppose they're happy enough to sit on the bench while earning £90,000 or £150,000 a week.

Their own fault, though I can understand Johnson when City weren't as good but to sign an extension now..

Well, the reason why he might not play as much as he'd like would be mainly that he isn't better than any of his rivals at the time. If he's willing to stay and fight for his place, and is confident enough that he could win it back, then there's nothing wrong with signing an extension. He's in one of the best teams teams in the country, anywhere he could possibly go now would be a step down.

To be fair to City, the guy could potentially be one of the most talented wingers in the world, and he's shown glimpses of it. How ever his attitude to work and training just isn't there.

Mancini has made no secret that Johnson needs to have a better attitude to training. Just like Andy Carroll, he enjoys the lifestyle, booze and partying to much though.

Really? This is new to me.

Hard to feel sorry for someone who is on £90,000 a week.

Mancini has hinted about his attitude and work ethic plenty of times. And there always seems there is storys about him turning up somewhere for a party.

He's a talented player, a sort of poisonous winger when he's on song but maybe a loan would have been better for him. He's too good not to be playing regularly but his main problem is that his competition is either better than him or more suited for Mancini's plan (thinking of Milner here).
He has a knack for scoring cracking goals, wonderful left foot

Good player, but doesn't work hard enough when he doesn't have the ball.

Going to remain a sub till he learns there's more to the game then just attacking and looking for goals.

Very overrated player, there is a reason why Mancini doesn't start him.

He's mercurial. Which is another way of saying he hogs the ball and doesn't want to do the nitty gritty of the game.

No way he's drinking at parties without the leave to do so. No manager in the PL or top football would allow that. Aren't even allowed to that at semi-professional level in Iceland.

Seems fairly clear it's a financial decision.

What's so funny? Footballers are allowed to drink but only when the manager allows them. You can go to parties and have 1 or 2 beers and not get drunk. That's just partying. Not getting drunk and partying. I highly doubt that Adam is out partying constantly whilst getting boozed up.

As he's clearly not looking for a way out I'm closing this thread.
