Adam Johnson Looking For A Way Out

Absolutely agree, Kolarov in particular was shocking all game (aside from his corners, they were excellent). Silva was the most involved of all the attackers and I thought had a decent game all in all but he was very wasteful too, absolutely.

It was more in reply to the constant cries that Mancini's an idiot for not picking Johnson that come out so often, and I was just making the point that today he showed a lot of his worst features and does justify to some extent why Mancini's reluctant to pick him.

It was a broader point rather than singling him out for criticism in this game.

Showed real lack of quality with some of his crosses.

Sometimes he took up good positions and then gave the ball away cheaply.

Nothing earth shattering about his play today, certainly nothing to suggest that he MUST start every game for the Blue wankers.

Johnson was slightly better than Milner, who was utter wank... 26 Million???

Would much rather have Rodwell or even Cahill join United... at least Cahill plays with passion.

Oh okay, I guess I got your point wrong then. I just thought it was a bit harsh when he did bring them back into the match a bit, played a big part in their only goal and was no more wasteful than his team mates. I figured he was being the whipping boy for a dissappointing night for City when he clearly had an impact off the bench.

But there's no doubt he could have done more with his crossing and has the ability to have got his shot a yard lower and in the top corner.

Johnson reminds me of your typical English winger really. Downing with a few inneffective stepovers basically...

feck SAKE why didn't SAF sign this GUY! Twice as good as Valencia and the Azian guy roled into 1!

Losing da plot the senile old fcker!

Lack of minutes for Johnson can clearly be seen on the pitch. This lad was excellent at the start of the season. Now he is below average. He can't get good control of the ball and nor can he cross the ball well like he used to. Good man management Mancini! Another talent going down the drain at the City.

I like how he is slated after a bad game, but when on of our players is criticised it's always a knee-jerk reaction.

This guy obviously has potential but he's young and inconsistent. I wouldn't mind if he goes to another team since I think he can become a very good player for shitty.

You play him every week and believe me he won't be. A year ago he was playing for Boro and when we stepped into the Premier League, he just fit right in. He helped Shitty win a few games last season and like I said earlier, he had a very good start to this season until he was benched.

Agreed.

He'd likely be a lot more consistent if he was playing week out. He was outstanding at the start of the season and was consistently coming on and changing games, even last night he had a large hand in the city goal and they looked a lot more effective with him on the field.

Fergie must be looking at him for the £7 million they paid and be thinking he missed a trick, because at the right club he could develop into a top class player.

Well yeah if you want spend 20-25M than what we would realistically be paying to get Johnson. I m not saying we are going to get either of them but I just merely responding to your post.

Yeah, of course Bale would cost a big chunk more, but there's a reason for that. He's a much better player.

When we bought Rooney we could've bought ANY young striker in the country for less, but we're the biggest club in the world, so the brightest British talent should NEVER be out of our 'value' range.

How much do you reckon it would take to make spurs listen to an offer though?

I've never rated him as a top-class player.

Actually prefer Downing.

I like that Johnson has a bit of flair about him, but he is very immature for a 23 year-old.

I prefer Walcott, who is also 2 years younger than Adam.

Johnson has potential in the bucket loads but still not quite developed.

I think he's at the wrong club though. United would make him a fantastic winger under the watchful eyes of SAF and our coaching team.

I have a feeling he'll waste his talent in the caustic environment of the Man City dressing room.

Just because he is quicker? The amount of injury problems Walcott has is just too much. I would rather have Johnson because he can play on both wings and is genuine left foot, which is kinda what we are looking for.

First when he agreed to move to City, I thought he made the wrong choice but I understood why he did it though because he was Boro was a long time and needed a better team to move on. I just thought if he had waited six more months, then even us or definitely some other team would have made a move for him.

I thought he was not going to do well at City because they had higher profile players than him and were capable of buying even better players than they had last season. But he took his opportunity to showcase his talent very well and did excellently in the half season that was left. A lot of people noticed and he got a call up to the England squad.

Now seeing his performances drop the last couple of months, I m wondering if he is going to be an automatic choice for England or is Capello going to tell him to perform better or move on to another team to get another call up like he did with Beckham.

Whenever asked questions like this I always make a point of stating that I don't agree with the current pricing of players, but I feel it's necessary to be realistic and not remain stagnant.

Anyway -

Ronaldo - 80m
Kaka - 56m
Berbatov - 31m
Bale - 30/35m

But you'd be looking at 10 years of service down the left flank. At our club, training with the likes of Rooney, Giggs, Nani, Berbatov, Evra etc he'd end up being worth every penny.

I think we'll sign him within the next year and a half.

I only ask as Redknapp had mentioned 40-45 or something ridiculous.

Replacing Valencia or Nani? I doubt either of them will want to sit on the bench in their prime.
