Exactly, that is just a ridiculous valuation/demand. They want to price him out a move, be my guest. We move on to Aaron’s and the like. As much as I’d want him here - Palace are being obtuse.I guess they're including the demand to waive the Zaha clause that is probably worth about £15m.
I think we'd be crazy to accept that. They bought him for peanuts from us. I think we should leave a a final offer on the table at £50m and walk away if they don't want it. Ceding to all these demands just puts on the back foot even more in future transfers.
Just look at the way prices are going up every year mate. How on earth do you think AWB is going to be worth 100 million pounds in a few years? As someone's already said, Shaw wouldn't fetch the price United paid for him now. I don't see any sell-on profit potential from this deal at all.
I don't think its that. He's come in and seen what a disunited mess the dressing room is, how many unmotivated and weak willed players we have, and wants a British core to be the central part of it. He's going after talented young British players to build a foundation of continuity for years to come. Naturally that base will be added to with talented players from all countries as we go along. I'm sure we'll sign some foreign players in this window too.
Valencia under Van Gaal and then before his body gave up on him under Mourinho was one of the best right backs in world football. Far too many here were steadfastly hung up on the notion that he was out of position, somehow managing to ignore his consistently high performance levels in that role. Quite simply, he was better as a right back than he ever was as a winger. If Wan-Bissaka can give us something similar - and for a decade - then he will have been a resounding success.
This is literally just a guess. There's nothing that even remotely supports that theory. You might as well could've theorised we pick our transfer targets based on their star signs and dick length and it would hold as much water as your conjecture.
It's not though. It's literally a guess. There's nothing educated about it.Its an educated opinion.

I've read it, but there's no point in responding to anything else if you're completely wrong in the first sentence. Your statement was a guess, not an "educated opinion" and no amount of qualifying your stance is going to change that.Well if you bothered reading past that sentence then maybe you'll notice that. Oh well.
See this is why it's worth sticking with.A very young Wan-Bissaka, born to wear our shirt!
What kind of talks will it be this time? Ramped up talks? Or maybe locked in talks?Looking forward to more talks on this one.
I totally agree why he is the right choice, but seriously, CP asking for 50M plus losing the Zaha clause? They're the ones stopping this, that is not reasonable in the slightest.See this is why it's worth sticking with.
People like him and Maddison will die for the shirt, just like Neville / Becks / Scholes did etc. His family won't be pushing him out either.
Yes we could go and buy somebody else for less but will we get the same commitment? AWB all the way for me.
See this is why it's worth sticking with.

I'm hoping for some crunch talks.
Yeah they're taking the piss which is why it's taking so long.I totally agree why he is the right choice, but seriously, CP asking for 50M plus losing the Zaha clause? They're the ones stopping this, that is not reasonable in the slightest.

I think we have to stick to our guns and hope the lad gets tetchy about the move collapsing. We are offering reasonable money for the lad and if we end up caving, it just is a concertina effect on our subsequent signings, IMHO. For example, if we were in for Bruno, they'd definitely stick to the 70m euros for him if we end up paying 50m up front for AWB.Yeah they're taking the piss which is why it's taking so long.
It'll get done i'm sure of that, we just have to be patient. For once I don't blame Woodward on this as they're clearly being unreasonable.
IF they don't shift then we have a hard choice to make, but i'd personally just pay it as we can't afford to be picky right now.

Not really?Bit of a jump from one picture mate.
"Dying for the shirt" from mediocre or average players will get you mid table . These guys are nowhere near or never will be the standard of Scholes , Neville , Becks etc .See this is why it's worth sticking with.

And now we're talking about talks about talks. We're edging closer to the realm of football journalism! I feel cold.It will be talks about talks unfortuantely.
Yep I don't blame Palace for being cheeky as they know we're in a tricky position, they're going to milk it for all it's worth.I think we have to stick to our guns and hope the lad gets tetchy about the move collapsing. He's not mediocre or average, no idea where you're getting this from. He has the best defensive stats for a fullback in all the top leagues."Dying for the shirt" from mediocre or average players will get you mid table . Recruiting players from the "home countries" is an excellent idea , but only if they are good enough for us to compete at the top in Europe . Very few of the available ones are .

It's just proof that the family are United fans, so he's more than likely a united fan/has a soft spot for us at least.
I don't think it's a coincidence that most of the players we've been linked to recently are genuinely united fans - I think this is what Ole meant by wanting "british" players. Not just nationality but players who want to be here for more than just the money.
We've tried to be the English Galactico's but we failed miserably, we need to get back to what were good at.
Bit of a jump from one picture mate.
Agree. I was made to wear a Birmingham city shirt as a kid and hated it. Based on what he believes, Sanchez also should have been dying for the shirt cause I saw a picture of him in a Utd tracksuit top as a kid.
Sanchez works his ass off in fairness, it’s the rest of his game that has often fallen to pieces.

Not that it means anything but not one of them is English/British. No one can really kick up a fuss about us changing our focus to British players this summer. We've had so many flops in our squad.... It's ridiculous
Flops (since Fergie left)
Fellaini
Mata [hasn't really hit the heights where he reached while he was at Chelsea]
Darmian [The board and the guy are completely delusional as to what he has to offer]
Schneiderlen
Depay
Di Maria
Falcao
Schweinsteiger
Blind [We never utilized him well]
Rojo
Victor Valdez
Bailly
Sanchez
Mhikitariyan
Matic
Fred
It's been 6 years and we've already had 16 flops.... And not sure if Lukaku should be considered a flop for having a tragic last season or Pogba for not replicating his Juve performances consistently for us. Is Martial a flop as well since he has had seasons where he's performed well for half the season. Luke Shaw could have been considered a flop until this past season. And that does not even include the likes of Smalling, Jones & Young whom we've inherited from Fergie himself. We've managed to do such bad business that every season, we've had to look to have an overhaul done. For all the "good" work that Woodward has done for the club in getting sponsorships, we aren't doing so well moneywise when it comes to transfers.
You don't need to be a United fan to give it all for the club when you sign.
Also if I'm not mistaken hes am Arsenal fan.
While that's true - most people SHOULD be giving their all for their employer anyway, it doesn't always work that way. Having players that have a love for the club will help us with keeping the players and stop them having wondering eyes for abroad clubs.Agree. Look at people like Scholes/Giggs. they had admirers from many famous and probably better clubs at the time, but they loved United and their home is England, they didn't want to leave. Compare that to Pogba / Lukaku etc, it's just a different situation.
