Think you've highlighted it perfectly. Klopp / Pep can bring in world class players and keep them motivated. Solskjaer has achieved nothing but failure managerially, so the only calibre of players he will be able to motivate is the younger generation of British players.

Too many people place emphasis on the invidiuals within a team but it's 50 / 50 the manager needs the pedigree to motivate the players. That's why the argument of saying that Madrid won three champions leagues because of their the starting 11 and not the influence of Zidane is mind boggling.

We're in a mess right now due to lowering of standards by our board/managers (When you consider we hired Jose/LVG, its even more ridiculous) and it will continue until someone (Ole or next manager) puts a stop to this by being ruthless with consistent under performers, until then it won't matter whether we sign WC players or young British players.

We had two brilliant managers in Jose and LVG both of them were happy with Old wingers as FBs, Jones/smalling/Rojo as CBs.....We're talking about WC managers having mediocre players in first 11 and keeping them there even when they played shit consistently and both managers got what they deserved. Now we have Ole as our manager and not expecting much from him but at least we finally have a manager who doesn't want to play old wingers as FBs (This shouldn't be a thing to be happy about ffs, how we have fallen).

So is this done? Is Stone reporting it? Had a look and can’t see it - May have missed it!

Eh ? What're people talking about ? Looks like it's very far from being "done".

Why should we believe Simon Stone?

This Simon chap on twitter has got more right than Stone ever has

He may say done deal now, the deal concludes 2 weeks later and say "yeah I told you so". Hardly something worthy of being "trusted". Everyone know that it's matter of time of agreeing a fee with Palace as much as his logic with James deal, so yeah don't get the reason to trust him that much as if tweets are facts.

He was not one of the best right backs in world football. He was regularly caught out of position and his tackling was largely miss-timed and horrendous. He did a job adequately enough for a season or two.

He was extremely steady and reliable defensively and very rarely caught out of position or giving away silly fouls. He excelled for three seasons, then his form dipped for one before falling off a cliff.

OK, we have a RB, so who are we getting next?

Is it not? Show me something Stone has got right then....
Jesus wept  you made the claim that Reddit Simon was more reliable than BBC journalist Simon Stone so maybe you should be the one to provide evidence that Stone isn’t reliable?

I did and you're the one that said it's not true. Prove it's not true then otherwise feck off

You made a stupid claim then don’t want to back it up? Fair enough, we’ll leave it there then.

For the amount this guy costs, I'm expecting him to be Javier Zanetti-like for us & lock up that right back berth for many years.

Wonder what must be going through the heads of Dalot, Darmian, Laird and O'Connor now.

Oh & especially TFM.

Oh & especially TFM.

Why especially TFM?

TFM isn't in contention for the RB position at United. It's Dalot and Young.

Well, I imagine that they want to play for one of the best teams in the world, so to do so they might have some competition? Darmian won't care, he's just getting paid until he can go home... Young will probably call it next season... Dalot can play RB, LB, and on the wing... he'll get plenty of games, and might thrive with a little more protection behind him. Laird and O'Connor are talented, and in a year's time it could be Shaw, Wan-Bissaka, Dalot and the two of them, competing hard for two spots in the first 11.

What?

Simon Stone is very reliable considering his competition in the media.

I'm shocked people believe people on Reddit. If they had any sources they'd be making money off it. They are full of shit.

Don't get the reason why should we believe this guy.
Because he clearly does have a source at the club.

You can't guess 10 minutes before an announcement is made, saying an announcement will be made at 3pm and not have a source.

He isn't the type that says multiple things and lies about it either, he tweets very little and only when sure.

Only time will tell, but I believe this guy.

Think this will get done, but the time its taken will impact other more important signings.

Will be done by Friday.

To be fair that Simon guy has a good track record. The only ‘ITK’ that probably has a solid source. Wouldn’t believe those other bullshitters.

To be honest all of those ITKs on reddit are complete and utter rubbish...except this guy

He isn't like the rest, he doesn't tweet updates every 2 hours like spoof or the other muppets. He just appears, raises hell and leaves. He literally told everyone at 2.30pm to check the 3pm tweets at United and all across their social media as James was being announced.

I expect he has a mate who works in the IT or Marketing department who just gets a brief from a line manager saying get the graphics made. This Simon lad though I would believe.

Hopefully they'll think they actually have to perform and improve.

Would be interesting to see what your thoughts would be on the Reddit guy if United were to announce a signing within the next 2 days or so. - Something which Stone and others aren't implying, in fact the opposite in that it's far from done.

Like I said prove that Stone is 'very reliable'. He's never once put his neck out and got a scoop that no one else has, he's just part of the group that regurgitates briefings from the club, he's got no inside sources or anything like that he's just a puppet

Anything from Howard Nurse? Not believing anything until he confirms it.

He works for the BBC, which means no inside scoops but only confirmed news from all parties involved before they publish anything as their own information. Although I do feel that most of the time it's juste Simon Stone spewing out 'his opinions' rather than posting concrete news. Probably because he's employed to cover United and supply desperate and starving United muppets with some info.

Oh yeah, I don't believe any of those other guys because they waffle on way too much. It's obvious they're in it for the admiration.

I like that he isn't even putting a doubt on it either. He's stating it's DONE and that the others are simply following protocol.
