Will be a great signing if this goes through, replacing Young instantly massively improves us. Next we need to replace Smalling* and Jones.

Totally bored with all the speculation now, we surely must finally get this one over the line this week....?!?

I know that people want to see new signings and that anybody is better than Young but 55 mil pounds for defensive full back? I don't know what to say anymore. 55 mil?:wenger:

It's just how it is now, and will be for the foreseeable future. We either pay these fees or fall even further behind.
I know but it is not just a money. For right player you need to pay. I agree with that. But while other( top) clubs are going forward and buying attacking full backs because full backs today are important part of general play, we are buying technically limited full back. Kid is a monster in defence, no question about that but now we will have two defensive full backs on flanks. And fans will expect at least attacking football next year...

I do agree to a certain extent, if we're not upgrading the RW (again) then we're still going to be terribly lob-sided even if this deal is completed. I'm just hoping in a more attacking side he shows more going forward.

In case of Daniel James preferring to play on the left or performs better on the left or being played by Ole on the left (And you know this is what's gonna happen because feck right wingers, They are only myths), this signing is a must. We can then play Dalot as a right wing instead of having fecking Lingard and Mata all over again. At least Dalot has the energy and enthusiasm.

Add to that is the fact that if We sign AWB, We'll be no longer required to watch Ashley Young standing still for 10 seconds, being confused if He should cross or give the ball back to Scott Mc Tominininay.

These two factors combined make this signing not only a must but dear lord, just sign someone who can play properly on the right already!

From Beckham to Ronaldo to Nani + Valencia and now We have Young + Lingard or Mata "linking up" when the only thing they link up are atoms of carbon dioxide They breathe out that somehow got mixed together.

Our right hand side is quickly becoming a place for all tippy tappy and no threat. You'd think it's Barcelona playing inverted wingers but noooo it can't be inverted wingers, We're too tactically adept for such a punny tactic, what We have are wide attacking midfielders.

There are more threats on JLingz's twitter page than ManUnited right hand side.

Carbon dioxide is a compound, not an atom.

If I had a million pounds for every time I corrected people about that, I'd be a millionaire (minus the student debt).

They want £50m guaranteed and want us to waive the 20% sell on in Zaha's contract?

We should tell them to feck off. Why are we hellbent on getting screwed on deals like this?

I seriously hope we go for alternatives if true. Signing a ultra defensive fullback would be fine if we were still in the 90s. But in the modern game, a fullback must provide both attacking and defensive contributions.

£50m guaranteed and waiving the Zaha sell on would be Palace pulling our pants down.

I bet you were the cool guy on campus

Why are we offering add ons such as 'winning the CL'. Nobody will go for that given our current state. More idiocy IF true.

This deal is taking an absolute age to do, apparently we are prioritizing this over other deals, the way it is going we are going to conclude this deal on deadline day and be done with it.

Can't say I am overly excited by it but anything is better than Ashley Young on the right. We surely have to sign a top RW, I think everyone on here see's that, at this moment in time I would take anyone!

Waiving Zaha's clause would be ridiculous piece of business. He could easily fetch 70-80m pounds next year from someone like City, considering Mahrez was gone for 60m pounds.

Essentially it would mean we would buy AWB for somewhere in between 70-80m pounds..

It’s taken us 3 weeks to get this far. I doubt we’d be removing any Zaha clause, u less they want to knock off £15m.

it'll happen. AWB wants to leave, Palace aren't going to give up all that money to keep a disgruntled player.

Seen that this morning, it is the sort of thing that we would end up agreeing to as well you can see it.

Sick to death of us just getting our pants pulled down constantly over transfers, passed being a joke now.

I hope this will hit a snag and we divert our attention to Semedo or Cancelo or any other attacking full back as AWB looks like a total defensive RB.

We need more attacking players and I dont want fans complaining half way through the season that AWB stopping all our attacks and we need another better RB.

Unfortunately, that's true.

Just imagine if City sign Cancelo for 60m and Juventus sign De Ligt for 70m while we overpaid for Maguire and Wan Bissaka who are in a tier below.

I think we need to just pull out of this now, its getting stupid. I'm sick of us getting ripped off.

just sign Max Aarons and let Laird get a game or two. We sold Zaha to them for 14 mill or something now they want more money... do one

It's because
a) we are desperate
b) tier 1 players do not want to join us

However we need to improve what we have so it is a vicious circle I am afraid

I want the guy, but if that is true, Palace are being extremely unreasonable and more for Ed and the team to not caving atm.

Ed spent the entire of last season walking away from unreasonable deals. How are we hellbent on getting fecked over?

Can’t believe he walked away from deals for key players because they charge too much. Are we hellbent on getting fecked over?

Unfortunately I can see this being true and they will take us for a ride if the deal goes through. Would explain the stall in negotiations.

Ed would want to include CL win, PL champions and clauses like that which on Palace side would seem unreasonable given the current state of the club. They'd rather see Zaha clause to be waved which is more probably given he's sold next year.

Problem is AWB seems like the most realistic signing we're about to make with 1-2 weeks before pre season and if we lost all that time fanning about it we will only grow more desperate. Our other options most likely will be gone by the time we conclude a deal with Palace, unless we bring 50 years old Alves.

Unfortunately, that's true.

Sadly I can. We overpaid Fellaini's release clause. This would be less humiliating tbh.

Sanchez on a potential £505k a week if reports are to be believed. That was just last year.

I refuse to believe a club currently not involved in the CL would use that as a singular £15m add on clause.

Sounds like spouted salty bullshit because AWB wants an imminent move, and Palace are reluctant to lose another young talent as it means further stand-stillness for them.
