It wasn't higher we didn't only play in England either. The fullbacks and wingers around when Irwin was playing cannot be said to be weaker than when Evra was playing. Thats a complete myth
It's a myth in your head. Now if you want to discuss this further then create a thread in the FF and stop derailing the thread.

I'd have Bruce a level below those you mentioned. Stam, Vida, McGrath and Rio were our best center backs bar none. Each one of them fantastic players individually that have proven themselves time after time and were the pinnacle of our domestic success and that in Europe.

Then comes the Bruce, Pallister tier - great on their own but not as complete and as dominant as those you mentioned.

Having said that and considering the defences of today have no doubt Bruce will be a world class CB and one of the best currently.

True. But Bruce and Pallister together complimented each other very well. A team that was better than the 2 players separately. Not as good as Rio and Vidic, but a great pairing in the middle of defence.

Can someone tell me the significance of that Instagram video? It’s just him looking into the distance while some shit music plays? And I guess Adidas make our kits. Other than that, what am I missing?

Don’t give two shits about the price. We need an actual right fullback in our team. Everyone knows we badly need one too hence the price hike.

What's their ball control like ?

Haha good point! I'm just excited at potentially revamping the right side which has been poor by our standards for awhile now. I think AWB's ability on the ball is being underestimated on here somewhat.

He's no Alexander Arnold with the ball but he would still be a big upgrade on Valencia going forward whilst being solid at the back too. Dalot can be used if the final delivery is needed more.

People are so sensitive regarding price. We are rich, the club brags about it and we are also pretty shit which everyone can see. Of course players will be at a premium, most teams do not need the money like in the past. We want we must pay, if too expensive go for a cheaper option like Meunier. Anyone but Young though. We could have released him this summer on a free and saved 15m in wage but we decided to keep him. Who else for the money being quoted should we buy instead?

If you wanted to go full muppet he references "always bringing the heat" with a little flame. At a stretch it's a bit like how a devil is associated with fire.... Or it's a simple video he agree to shoot with his sponsor.

I wasn’t even trying to be a dick, I was genuinely wondering if there was something I’d missed!

He's not, but I do believe he has the same successful crossing percentage as him.

Yes, that’s true as well. Individually though they were pretty highly rated before they came to United. From memory we paid top dollar to get them at United. I think Pallister also broke the British record for a defender at the time.

Cancelo. Possibly Florenzi.

If we want a younger option (I don't see why we would - what is wrong with Dalot?), I'd go for Atal.

Not really.

AWB:
0.3 crosses completed per 90 mins, 18% accuracy.
0.5 chances created per 90.

TAA:
2.1 crosses completed per 90 mins, 29% accuracy.
2.3 chances created per 90.
Tbf I just read it somewhere.

Neither sounds great based on that though really. Alexander Arnold is one of the best in the league but for every 10 crosses only 3 will be successful (and 2 for Wan-Bissaka), 7 hit shins etc that people consistently moan about on here with our right backs.

Oh so it was me derailing :lol: no need to be rude. No need at all

One plays for palace and one plays for Pool - hard to compare those stats until AWB plays in a better team. I'd still expect Trent to be better given his crossing ability though.

I’m happy to see Young replaced but I feel a bit for Dalot. He’s still young and looks to have potential, he won’t improve much on the bench.

Completely agree. When we initially bought Dalot everyone seemed to be excited about signing a young fullback with bags of potential.

I feel like just because he is a Mourinho signing, and he didn't exactly tear it up last season (although he did have some very good games) people have moved on. Moving him to RW was also a confusing move, as I personally don't know what the plans are for him.

Diogo is only 19, and deserves a chance to improve. Alexander Arnold was ripped to shreds by Rashford 2 seasons ago at Old Trafford and look at him now. United fans always harp about giving the youth a change, but when a shiny new signing potentially appears, all that goes out the window. Give Dalot a chance.

He's the best option you could possibly get if you want to start competing with Liverpool and City again.

He played really well last season under a defensively minded manager, so I'll be intrigued to see how he gets on in a more attacking team.

The fee is very high, but he could potentially be your right back for the next ten years? If Liverpool didn't have TAA, Wan Bissaka is the right back I would most want to sign.

I really like TAA and actually think they have a better defender too in Gomez if he stays fit, they missed him at times durign his injury....but I would put Bissaka ahead of TAA. TAA has a fantastic cross and is a really good full back, he has lots of developing to do in his game though, positionally especially. I think bar the fantastic crossing TAA has Bissaka has more ability, I really do

You could say Arnold is no Bissaka without the ball

He's not worth 60 mill pounds. He had one good season at RB.
And he's way too poor going forward and meh on the ball to be called a modern fullback

If your username is anything to go by, then your judgement of players is pretty piss poor!

We will have about 50 games next season, 60 if we go further in the cups and Europa. Do you seriously think that AWB is gonna start every single game while Dalot will be sitting on the bench the whole time?
