40m is a fantastic offer. I like AWB a lot, but if they want 60 they can just go pound sand.
I mean it's a young English premier league proven talent. You think we could get that for £35m in todays market? Feck no.Palace is really trying to mug us. 35 mil should be enough for him. He's quite good defensively and quite agile. In fact, I would say his quick acceleration and agility are what keeps him going. He's very difficult for opponent to twist around him because he's just as agile but offensively, he's pretty tame. His passing apart from short passes are just not good enough. So his crossing skill. He's got one move while dribbling which is to shift the ball to his left and push it forward to confuse the defender while he quickly nip forward, aided by his acceleration or could just use his acceleration straight way.
Anyway, 40 mil is even too much for him let alone 60mil. Abort plan please.
AWB at RB and Dalot/James RW?
Yep. He was always gonna cost minimum 50m as a breakout star and I don't care if we have to go 10m over that to get an important signing done. No more Young. Make it happen WoodyWe should just get this done. 50 mil or so and place would be happy. We desperately need a right back and he’s the best one we’ve been linked with. I thought the fees for walker and van dijk were high, but in today’s market prices are always gonna be crazy. Get the player and on to the next signing.

From winger playing as RB, to RB playing as winger. Progress.AWB at RB and Dalot/James RW?
We’ll be the first modern team to get nothing out of either fullback going forward.Yes overpay for someone who offers very little going forward. Can’t wait for the cafe to have a meltdown once everyone realises how bang average he is technically.
Pay the 60 and be done with it. We can solve the RB for minimum 7 to 10 years.
I would be happy yes, but if we can't sign him this summer we need to make sure we can score enough goals next season to be in top 4.Fair enough but I would go around looking for a complete fullback simply because we lack in other areas. You have to assume we fix RW too. Had we bought Sancho first I assume you'd be happy with AWB.
I'd much prefer AWB, but a 27 year old really isn't a very short term solution.
I 100% agree but I swear to god if that means Young will not play then just pay it. It's not mine or your money. But 60 mil is too much.
True, but it means less investment in other areasI 100% agree but I swear to god if that means Young will not play then just pay it. It's not mine or your money.
RBs as good defensively and as athletic as Wan-Bissaka are few and far between. I thought he was comfortably the best defensive fullback in the league last season. He's the RB version of Ashley Cole.
Probably but maybe we could make it up on a few outs.True, but it means less investment in other areas
Imagine what the best fullback in the world must go for right now. Let's say a prime Dani Alves would go for somewhere between 65-80 million pounds? No way we should pay 60 for fecking Aaron Wan-Bissaka.
Sorry. I don't see in any way they're similar.
I actually think it's a great comparison both in a defensive sense and the type of attacker both are/were. Those expecting AWB to swing crosses in like TAA are in for disappointment he's not that kind of player at all. What AWB is though is a brilliant defender especially in one v ones, he will get forward and provide width but won't get many assists or goals
People saying “can’t spend all that money for a fullback” clearly don’t realise just how important that position is.
It’s our weakest position right now, having him and james on the right will freshen us up immeasurably
Mainly yes, but just like when we signed Sanchez we very much hope he will play on the right for us.James is a left winger, isn't he?

Mostly I don't think that's the case. Look at who we've signed in the last few years and those players were meant to come in and make imediate impact. That's one of the problems we have. While other teams around us sign good players who do a good job right now, we look for players who are "possibly" good or can "possibly" become good one day.
