He was just okay. Not good enough as first choice. Having seen horrible games from him, this was definitely refreshing. He is now showing up for balls which is quite good to see rather than hiding .

Would still sell him if we get a decent fee but definitely keep as a backup if there are no offers

It’s like some people want him to fail just to be right, he’s not perfect, but for someone who hasn’t played all season, he’s come in and done a good job.

Don’t think anyone was expecting to suddenly be Hakimi.
Same with Rashford. It's really weird. Seems like a lot on here are more fans of their opinions than the club.

He's too good to be a back up. He's a PL quality player. We should sell him for £30m and buy a cheap back up like Malacia
You might want to look at the PL champions squad there and have a rethink about what you said .

He’s was decent I thought , let’s hope Dalot is back for City though

Sums it up. His passing (both combination play and passing forward) was really not good today either. Never will be. And it is an issue.

Good game and a few good games from Bissaka now. He'll never be Cancelo, but he's got a lot of talent.

Fundamentally isn't good enough technically. And at 25 years old there's only so much upside in terms of improvement. So should unquestionably be replaced when possible.

However he has done decently in recent games, which wasn't a given when not having played much and obviously not being favoured by the manager, so credit where it's due on that front.

Funny part is Cancelo was a bit part player for Portugal and Dalot was an undisputed starting player and core to their team.

He played their knockout games. You know, the important ones that decide if you're in the tournament or not

Teams tend to play their undisputed starter from the beginning. His starting sport wasn't guaranteed, there are no two ways about it.

It was after the first time he played. He kicked Cancelo out for Portugal's progression. You're right though Cancelo was in for 2 games, then Dalot got his chance and Cancelo was dropped from then on. He didnt start undisputed but he finished it.

There was a moment where he was part of a few players in the corner exchanging passes and they were nipping first time passes at each other and where you’d expect him to have trouble he seemed to be doing all right and finding the pass.

I thought overall he was quite good yesterday, chose to go inside Antony. Also isnt diving in as much as he used to I feel which is a vast improvement. Still at times seems to lose his man just not concentrating when defending set pieces or even in game.

If he keeps going I don’t see why with Dalot and Bissaka we really need a RB. Especially when it seems that the going inside the winger and being more of an extra midfielder is something Dalot especially could do.

Am I the only one who can't stand him trying to cross the ball while simultaneously do it while tackling ? it just pisses me way off. stand on you feet you bloody cnut.

I still don’t think he has a future here, but he deserves acknowledgement for contributing despite being on the outs for so long. Well done.

His passing and progress up the pitch is looking so much better.

No real surprise when the players around him actually want the ball.

ETH has done a great job with Dalot and Wan-Bissaka, both have gone from not looking good enough to right back being our strongest position.

Looks to have the bit between the teeth. Some great defending and looking very respectable on the ball.

Proved to be a capable option. That said I would bring Dalot back into the line up now he's fit.

No beating around the bush he’s actually filled in well in Dalot’s absence.

He was good tonight again, can't deny his form. Can't understand a prem side not taking a chance on him.

Funny how a good coach can improve players.
The biggest indicator of a quality coach by far. The amount of players who have improved from last season is pretty much everyone. Players who were being judged as not nearly good enough last year or needing to be replaced in the first team now look like good quality players. The calls of this team needing 10 quality players last year just to become a competent team were so far off. We had 2 new signings in the squad today plus an 18 year old in Garnacho who played a significant amount in the second half and yet we played with more fluidity and creativity than at any point last season.

Wan Bissaka is just another example of this. If players have a well defined roll and are trained well, they will always look miles better than when playing in a disjointed side.

I'm impressed, not by how good he plays football (he was usually pretty decent defender in semi-professional back 4), but how he seems unfazed and just does his job. Especially considering it looked like he was on his way out a few weeks ago.

He's OK at defending, will be useful still this season. Dalot is obviously on a different level in attacking game and progressive play, but still AWB is a good option to have.
