I like AWB. Always have done and I think he gets unfair criticism a lot of the time.

That being said, I don't think the performance was anything to write about. He turned up and done his job to the minimum bar expected and I hope he can build on it. Great player to have as second choice right back and we certainly should not be letting him go for pennies (£10m I saw somone on here claim the other day).

Good back up but he'll always be sup par in possession. Can't play fast one touch football that top teams require and switches off. But great in one on ones going both ways and shouldn't be given away. Teams should have to play proper fees for our players.

He did alright. I wouldn't say it was great.

He was largely given free reign on that right side, and Forest didn't even bother to get near him, so his weaknesses on the ball were never really exposed.

That said, he's the same AWB he's always been. Same strengths, same weaknesses.
He got into great positions going forward, but he's got no final ball, so pretty much every one was wasted.
Threw in some great slide tackles and broke up play well, but then you see his weakness in the air and his lack of positioning, for the goal Forest had ruled out. Completely let his man go.
Have that count as a goal, and I don't think people would be praising him around here.

Where I like Dalot is he has gone from not needed to a player constantly striving to improve every aspect of his game.
AWB is still the same player we signed without improvement despite much more game time.

Had a very decent game, reminiscent of his best form under Ole.

Those saying he’s better than Dalot must be judging Diogo on previous seasons though. This season he has improved his defensive work ten fold and is much better than AWB in this regard. He’s also far more technically accomplished and a safer bet in possession.

Happy both seem to be in good shape this season.

Good performances but it'll take more than lower league opposition and Forest to see if we can really trust him long-term.

Still a bit clumsy to me, and looked better against Burnley. One really lovely sequence of play to lead to a Garnacho chance. Malacia was better.

I think he'd be worth 15M or so to us as a backup RB, but Ten Hag would rather sell him for 20-25M now that the Prem is so flush with money, and sign a RB who he trusts on the ball for the same amount.

He played. Aside from the disallowed goal no major fcuk ups.

Still needs to go.

He played well and defensively he’s brilliant. Also showed some decent stuff going forward too, hopefully he’s another of ETH projects that improves

I’m happy with him as back up.

I would not say defensively brilliant at all as he tends to switch of. His recovery speed/ability helps him out a lot. Glad to see 2 decent games in a row. Agreed a good solid backup.

Credit where credits due, played well both attacking wise and defensively. Hopefully continues to play at this level when given a chance, will only help increase his transfer fee.

Upgrade in the summer then.

Dalot has been an integral part of our buildup. People aren't making it up. One of the major differences is how their possessions come about. Dalot is actively entrusted with ballcarrying responsibilities in the first two thirds and his hyperactive overlap is why Antony always seems to have space despite everyone knowing he wants to use his left. This matters against tougher teams. Against the likes of Forest a Malacia and AWB fullback pairing are enough but it makes a huge difference when there's an actual midfield battle.I'll trust ETH's judgment here but AWB still has someway to go displacing anyone.

Dont disagee with what you mention Dalot adds, as that is the only thing I think he adds that other options dont possess bar Laird who hasnt broken through as hoped.

But there are plenty of full backs around Europe who have this attribute too and have much more potential with other attributes.

His positioning and decision making is better than Bissakas too, but in other areas defensively I feel he is way behind and is very average defensively. But the big thing for me with DAlot is what for me is a myth bar the ball carrying of him being so much better going forward, his crossing is actually worse thaan Bissakas, his final ball is lacking and woefully inconsistent, his 1 on 1 offensivley is also not great nor is his link up with the winger any better than Bissaks.

I think bothgave shown some big weaknesses in there game, Dalot is doing pretty well at the moment, Bissaka was doing just as well in his first 18months here. Dalot probably gives more consistency and will make less big errors.....but both despite a lot of hype when gettign signed as great young players look more like second choice full backs here to me, not sure either are happy with that but I strongly feel we should be looking for a new first choice full back not someone to compete with DAlot as most seem to be saying

He had a very balanced game yesterday. Maybe ETH can coach him to make him better then? I don’t mind keeping him as a squad player if he can play like that yesterday.

I've been shocked by his last two performances, not because I think he is a terrible player (he does suffer from being hard on the eyes though), but because his confidence has been in the mud for a year now and there were no signs of it changing. Maybe it's just that he's coming in to a more confident and settled team, or maybe EtH has managed to instil some belief in him on the training ground, but it's promising for the club.

It has been looking like he would be gone before the start of next year, but maybe that plan will change. With the reported lack of funds and the fact he probably won't command a very enticing fee, perhaps we keep him as back-up and continue to try and work on turning him into a player who can operate in EtH's system.

He still made some of the same basic mistakes he was making in his worst form. But much improved elsewhere to take away from those mistakes. I think there’s a good player in there as I always have, but he’s just not got the right coaching. Not sure at this stage if he’s worth persisting with though, I guess he’ll be staying for the season so we will have to.

Another point for ETH as he’s made both right backs who I thought were lost causes improve this season, albeit a very very small showcase for AWB so far. Hopefully he can kick on and be a positive part of our squad for the rest of the season if he stays.

It’s great to see him play at his level again, because it means we have two RB’s and two LB’s of decent capability and with a bit different attributes. If we include another RB in time, we will get more for Aaron as well if he gets a few spells showing this level.

He was decent today but to say I'm worried by this is an understatement, there is obviously no money for a new right back and I really do not think ETH would play him if there was an option of signing someone.
So we're stuck with him and for the style of football we try to play he will not be the solution, let's all hope someone likes him enough to take him off our hands with a semi decent bid.
In some respects it might actually help to use him a bit. Not only was Dalot being run into the ground, the bids we received for Wan-Bissaka in the summer were a bit of a joke. If he can get a few games for us and do well in them, it might help restore some of his value for a summer sale.

AWB is more than capable of playing a rotation role. I’d like to see him stay and see how much ETH can improve him.

he played well last night.

Say what you want about him but he's unquestionably a better option at RB than Malacia and Lindelof who have filled in to replace Dalot when unavailable.

We need him in the squad.

He looked like he'd been doing alot of work on his attacking game. Not the finished article by any means but a more complete AWB is worth keeping. This is why we have ETH - to make players better. Ole just made them all worse.

I think he was excellent. Our best player in the first half. His off the ball movement was great - seemed like he understands the role he was asked to play really well

Another good performance. Showing there’s a good Premier League player in there.

AWB must be making Dalot sweat! It even seems he has a different brain with the decisions he's making

Thought he was our best player alongside Casemiro. Fair play to him, he might not be around for the long haul but he's not throwing a strop and he's getting on with it.

Not his biggest fan but have to say impressive 3 games so far.

He just doesn't offer anything offensively (although he did pass it to Rashy on the goal that was ruled out).

A lot of good work defensively, though! He's a decent right back for a smaller club in the premier league, not United

Usual story. Okay without the ball but poor with it.

Badly need Dalot back.

Good in defence but we need Dalot back. Offers nothing in attack. But i repeat, these last 3 games AWB was very very good. Did nothing wrong, did his job in defence perfectly. Just.....fb must offer something in attacking phase

One of our better players today. 3 games, one assist, three clean sheets, three wins since he's back in the side. Well done

He's decent enough backup. Looking forward to Dalot coming back though.

Can be developed evidently. No reason why the same cant be done with AWB that has been done with Dalot
