My favorite player in this squad, just love him.
Yeh he turned away from the shot, which is criminal, but to be fair it was an absolute worldie so not that big of a criticismThe name of this thread is what he wasnt on that Neves shot. He jumped but made himself smaller than he is, which is surely the exact opposite of why you jump to try and block a shot. You want to make yourself big so its hard for the ball to get past you.
Still despite a couple of things like that, he made 9 tackles, 1 interception and 1 clearance. So despite not doing very well with his "wall" or closing down of Neves, he was still our biggest ball winner and most honest/hard working defender.

He was not at fault for that goal at all.
We all know he's great defensively, but that pass to Lingard was just brilliant.
I'll say it again I was sceptical about him but love him bits now, my favourite RB after Rafael. But his attacking output is pretty mediocre and crossing non existent, he is young so he must improve both if he wants to be the best RB in England, TAA and Walker are pretty good at crossing and if AWB catches up in that aspect he could be the best RB in the world.
Barring a serious injury, we now have a RB for years to come. Never seen a 21 y/o fullback being that incredible at defending as he is
He tackles with both feet too. Not many defenders do that tbhYou just can't get past him. His tackling is top notch.
He's also good with the ball under pressure, and isn't afraid to take risks while passing. To think that he is only going to improve from here is crazy. What a player.
How about The Great Wall of China? Or in his case The Great Wall of Croydon. He is impenetrable, from now on I'm going to call him the Berlin Wall.
Wait, no..
