Books A Song of Ice and Fire (Books) | TV show? What TV show?

Sapochnik getting 3 episodes is great news.
Don't think this is completely true yet, my ordering was just what I hoped for. Just going off what people have rumoured based on D&D only giving themselves the finale.

D & D deciding to direct the final episode, despite that they haven't directed any episode is a weird decision. Probably Sapochnik will direct it anyway, and just give them the credit.

True, we do know from HBO Nutter/Sapochnik are official so will do 5 between them. Good news either way as both are 2 of the best directors for show. EW reporting Sapochnik could get 3 but we'll have to wait and see.

I'd all crazy stuff will be over by then be just a rebuilding the world and a new ruler sort of thing. Obviously still a massive episode of TV I think it will be quieter then the other episode, which will help. As you say I think Sapochnik and Nutter will help along if not direct it let them take the credit. I'm just glad we get at least 5 episode directed by if not the best 2 directors in Thrones.

They've both directed an episode each, just never together. I'm not exactly excited about it but I guess they kinda deserve the chance to finish it off.

Am I allowed to post cast related info on here?
I think it could potentially reveal certain plot points for season 8 so it's best left avoided. They're auditioning for a new character to only appear in two episodes, for example, which could just give away this character's entire story.

According to a 4chan user, who called the directors last week apparently, Dave Hill has episodes 1 and 4, while Sapochnik has episodes 2, 3 and 5. D&D obviously have the finale for themselves which isn't ideal but I suppose it's fair enough.

If sapochnik has episode 2 then that "fan fiction" plot doesn't seem as far fetched

Are you also rewatching the episodes or just doing it from the memory? Considering doing a full rewatch myself.

Watching the episodes on Wednesday afternoons, writing about them over the weekend, posting on Mondays and Tuesdays.

Thank you! Was the podcast feature a good idea? I've had some people say it's made it more accessible, which is a good start.
I don't really listen to podcasts because I'm far too easily distracted and end up missing half of what's said. It's easier for me to flick back and forth between tabs and read it over a small period of time. Having said that, it'll undoubtedly be preferable to a chunk of people (as you've had confirmed) so I'd continue if I were you. If I get a chance I'll listen to it later myself and let you know what I think.

Grrr... Could we just bump this when there's fecking news on the fecking books?

I would bump the TV thread but I'm banned from posting in there. So, you know.

News on the books: the next one will come out after the show is finished. Might as well get used to it.

Every week a little bit of me dies when this thread is bumped and we have no news on the new book.

Maybe these posts could go in another, non TV thread? Just to reduce the amount of mini heart attacks I have over the festive period.

I vote you bump neither.
I dunno, I spend a good 5-6 hours on this every week and don't get paid for it. I reckon yous lot could get over seeing this thread bumped every once in a while so I get something small in return for the effort I put in.
