Books A Song of Ice and Fire (Books) | TV show? What TV show?

I can't take anything that cartoon character says seriously. That Eyrie scene yesterday was comical, all round.

I think it's Ned. So Jon - Ned = Jon + Sansa. Which is completely ignoring that Ned should be E.
I originally thought it was 'Nights Watch' which would have to be NW rather than N.

It's ripping my brain apart  but yours sounds like it could be right

Erm, no. They're first cousins in that case, so it's still pretty fecked up. Although he does fancy redheads.

Edit: This was meant for the other thread but whatever.

Being that they were raised as brother and sister or at least half brother and sister, I am not sure that if they suddenly found out Jon was not a Stark if romance would really kindle. But then again this is the made up universe of GRRM so anything is possible.

Aren't Joanna and Tywin Lannister cousins? I'm not sure if first or not.

Anyhow, they weren't that close growing up, so I guess there's a chance, especially after being apart for all that time. The first draft have Tyrion and Jon fighting over.... Arya :nervous:

First cousins, for sure.

Cousins back then wasn't seen as strange or incest, many cousins got together I believe.

Correct. Wasn't sure what to use, but Ned seems to be more common that Eddard.

And after reading into that (I certainly wasn't the only one noticing), I'm convinced it will happen. It does make a lot of sense, even in a "pissing of some readers with a kinda incestous relationship"-way.

They keep saying that Arya most resembles Lyanna and Lyanna was beautiful enough to start the rebellion, but Arya in the books as well as TV appears like a boy

By the end of book 5 and in the released chapter for 6, she has been complimented on her beauty a few times. Sort of a ugly duckling transformation. Masie Williams ain't Emma Watson-ing anytime soon though.

Maybe she'll morph into someone after stepping into ice or fire or something.

Also, I can't believe the Rhaegar's rubies theory in the internet came true. Mostly coincidental, but still cool detective skills from the Internet readers piecing together the texts

When Brienne and Ser Hyde meet the Elder brothers, they claim that they pick up valuable things from Trident and mentions Rubies. Immediately someone Mentions about Rhaegar. It seems rubies are always symbolized with Fire and Blood, the Targaryean items.

The Septon replies they found six, but they are waiting for the seventh. Go back to the Prince that was Promised prophecy by the woods witch, which claims that the prince would arise from Aerys+Rhaella line. In the book, we have 6 from that line so far (Rhaegar, Viserys, Dany as immediate children, Rhaenys, Aegon and Rhaego (still born) as grand children).

The 7th one? Jon Snow.

Of all the things that has happened in the show and books, Jon and Sansa ending up together would be one of the most upsetting for me. Don't ask me why, it's not even logical, but I'd just really HATE it

I'm surprised lots of people found the episode great. It had the recurring theme of a few episodes starting from Season 3: "Okay-ish episode saved by one 'awesome' twist or popcorn moment that makes people seemingly forget about the other dull 50 mins, in this case being another Daenerys "white Jesus" Targaryen moment.

Has anyone read some of the spoilers floating around on reddit? Looks to be an unsatisfying season if true (and some of the spoilers have been right so far).

I also don't understand why so many considered it a good episode, it was poor. The scenes with Cersei, Jamie and the small council at King's Landing, so so poor. The dialogue is laughable. Brining Osha back and immediately killing her off, pointless. Jorah and Dario sneaking into Vaes Dothrak and killing some, including the ones guarding that temple thing, with about 5 seconds of preparation, absurd. I'm probably forgetting some other shit stuff. The Wall scenes are decent, I'll give them that.

I'm too invested in the story and we don't have the book yet so I can't stop watching it. But if this is supposed to be a good episode it just shows how low standards have fallen.

It would have been such a good feeling to binge watch this shit instead of having to wait for a week.

Good episode. He did hold the door then. It's a tough time to be a direwolf.

Random thoughts:

1. So we learned where the white walkers come from and how Hodor got his name. Neat.

2. The mistrust between Sansa and Jon is interesting. Not something I had considered.

3. Brienne heading towards Riverrun? Lady Stoneheart inched a bit closer.

4. What's the actual point of the Direwolves? I always figured they'd be important to the plot in some way or symbolise something but as is they're just nifty pets with short life expectancy.

How do Bran and Meera get saved? Because it seems like they're pretty fecked. Coldhands?
A guess would be
benjen

Both of them are great and intriguing options.

I just hope this entire
Time travel
doesn't become a theme of the show. There has been previously weird theories about this.

So the Children of the Forest created the Whitewalkers?

Not sure I'd buy that, but it does explain the strenuous tie with the Starks (First Men etc..)

Oh and the red priest who is supposed to be Moqorro is
