90's Serie A - Draft Thread

Well I call shotgun on playing in the next draft if it will be anytime soon, got some nice ideas of anyone wants to hear. Just incase I miss the thread.
I'll not be posting my team and formations until tomorrow gents, is that okay? Workload is piling up here and I won't be online until tomorrow evening when I get back from work.

What do you have in mind mate?
Well, a couple of ideas.
First one is same as I always suggested but its a current ability nationality draft, but I've come to realize that people are against current ability and that's all right.
My next idea is to do a draft of talent, like say it's now 2017, and pick according to what we predict players will become at that time regardless of what happenss between now and then.
I saw that in the mains they did a EPL 20 years draft which can also be nice.
I love the second one mostly.
If I'll think hard I'm sure I can come up with a couple more..

Well less attractive. Maybe 2000s Premier league is more interesting.

Not sure, look you need a lot of players, 16 teams x 12 players each is 192 players. Too hard IMO

I think we should not go with the same draft as mains (20 years premier league). People will follow the mains draft for ideas and posts and it will be kinda similar.

LA liga didnt have same quality as 90s serie A and even this draft was painfully slow with lot of posters backing out.

One thing's for sure I'm not doing the polls again. It's such a small thing yet at the same time it's a commitment that I just can't be arsed with. So before you do anything else, find another mod who will...because there's no other way to do it. Newbies won't be given the create poll function even for a short period.

Agreed. Serie A had exceptional players and even then posters weren't motivated. This draft shouldn't be taken as a benchmark.
As for the Premier League 20 seasons one in mains, we had an exact same one here before the Nationality draft.
I don't really mind a current ability draft but I don;t find it as interesting as the ones which involves past players and helps us in discovering a lot of new stuff. But if everyone wants a current one, or even better a youth players draft, I am up for it.
The problem I find with the talent draft is there is no way to judge it. How many times we have seen a player being promising early on and bombing due to some or the other circumstance. I mean, if this was 2009, Macheda would have been a sure pick in a draft like that, but look at him now. Many examples like that. But having said that, if you can come up with a straight forward way of judging it, it wouldn't be bad at all and would provide a nice change from the ones we have had.

Neg reps or infraction for those who exploit it and even then give the poll function to one or two poster.
i dont think a youth draft would work, what about a general 90's draft? or a 90's nationality draft?

I can only see that as a recipe for disaster, with requiring everyone to be online with all the different time zones and all.Nope, it won't require everyone to be online at same time.

I racked up my brain, but honestly, it will be a travesty if my team win. Brwned can afford to bench Crespo and Sosa, FFS! So as it stands, it's 11-5 right now. Judging from previous ones, he only needs 6 more votes as a guarantee winner.

Brwned surely will take Maldini. He doesn't need Baggio and Albertini. So, Dunga is a pragmatic second pick. Or he versatile Gullit could also another sound option in midfield or attack.

I think a 50s or 40s draft would be good, that is, players that were born in the 1950s or 40s.
Another slightly easy but a tricky one is Euro League 20 seasons: Underrated Players Draft. It's about players from the 90's to now that's never play in European Cup/Champions League (and has, at least, play 80 games during those two decades era). Now there won't be any website with a list of those players, I assume .
.Perhaps a Champions League one, but the problem with that is everyone will just pick the current Barca players. Or a European Cup draft so any player who's played in the competition pre 1992.
Because it's not that simple. You don't just click a button and you can add polls, you have to create an entirely new usergroup specifically for that function, or give them permission to access anything the mods can...neither of which any of the admins can be bothered with.

Who knows, maybe in a few years Messi will be playing horribly for Boca or something, but he probably won't and probably will still be a top player. And that's why it's fantasy, last time this talent draft came up I picked first pick at 5th or 6th pick Aguero and people said I was crazy. But you pick a team that is based on what you rate and hope people rate these players as high as you, as in any other draft.

Would be interesting to have a draft where CL winners or WC/UEFA Euro winners are eligible. Say 1990 onwards. Of course counting their peaks in their entire careers and not only performances in those competitions, don't wanna go through the same arguments again saying how some players didn't perform well in those tournaments and are being picked on reputation and all.

That'd be a pretty fun draft. There'd be some great unknown picks in there with there being pretty much no list of such players.
