2024 UEFA Champions League final — Borussia Dortmund vs Real Madrid — Wembley, Sat 1 June 20:00 BST

We can loan you Joselu next year, maybe you'll have a chance too
Im not mad you won. Im even happy for Kroos and Alaba.

But being this cocky after the first half today and calling winning the biggest trophy in club football "just another Saturday" is just ridiculous and disrespectful to the opponent and the competition.

Enjoy the night and continue "celebrating" it.

Real Madrid fans have all the right to be cocky and even arrogant. Their team owns this competition.

Football has become an extremely boring sport.
In the last 24 years, Real Madrid won 8 Champions League. Basically, in the last quarter of a century, Real Madrid won 1 out of 3.
And yet, it got even worse in the last decade, with Real Madrid winning 6 CL titles in the last 11 years.
Real Madrid exemplifies in continental football what Manchester City is an example of in the English Premier League.

At this stage, in terms of palmares, there is probably more difference between Real Madrid and Man United than there is between Man United and Aston Villa.
Football was never as uncompetitive as it is right now.
The best players might be (arguably) better, but never before did the strongest teams monopolize football as much as they do today.
To an extent, there was monopoly in the past too .... but never to the extent we have today.
Football, today, is an incredibly boring and uncompetitive sport.

Well, it's no big deal. The feeling that we could win despite the first half was shared not only by Madrid fans.
You have to find the tone as a joke and parody and not interpret it literally.
Obviously it's not another Saturday, but neither is the explosion of happiness of previous champions leagues.

Thank you I will

Why so salty?

And they are adding Mbappe to this group.
I think losing Kroos will be more interesting.

Tchouameni will have to take a more important role in possession or they need to sign a CM.

Most of us took it the right way. Enjoy your evening of celebration but you’re absolutely right.

There was a sense of inevitability about tonight that it was going through the motions.

Well all in all if someone told us this is how game would go no one would be surprised. Dortmund missing few big chances in first half which you have to taken given that it's a final and against Real Madrid and then Real improving in 2nd half and taking their chances. Was all predictable at HT.

Well done to Madrid fans on here. Can't be mad at you winning it after beating Liverpool twice in finals recently and also beating City on penalties this season, basically saved us from those 2 teams winning it at least 3 times.

Also, Fergie's Aberdeen remains last team that beat Real Madrid in European final. Crazy that was 41 years ago, Fergie was 41, now 82

Still think people don’t get how good that nutmeg was, forget the CL, Vini won tonight.

Luckiest team in the world. A disgrace of a performance. Winning cups doesn't matter. Your standards have been set long ago and you shouldn't accept that from any Real Madrid team. And no way can you take any glory from it.
I'd take this kind of disgraceful performances any day.

I searched for the white text for ages here. Worse first half, better second, 2-0 win. Disgrace!

They already planned for the succession years ago by bringing Camavinga and Tchouaméni. They'll certainly buy another midfielder but I don't see a massive drop-off even if Kroos one of the best midfielders of the last two decades.

Sarcasm or buffoon?

You don't see many where they just stop the ball and let the opposition player run over it.

He's basically made the defender meg himself.

Quite right. Every Madrid fan should be miserable as sin right about now. I’d argue as miserable as us United fans when we lost 4-0 to Palace.

What an utterly ridiculous thing to suggest. Their team has just won the CL - every fan has a right to be ecstatic irrespective of performance.

Madrid must be one of the greatest sides of all times that's almost never convincing but knows how to win games. There's an inevitability about them that they'll win but they're just so meh so often.

Courtois
Carvajal Rüdiger Militão Mendy
Tchouameni Camavinga
Bellingham
Rodrygo Mbappe Vini Jr

?
Edit: Valverde for Camavinga?
Double edit: They’ve got fecking Endrick coming in too….

Unless you are someone with no sports value at all, who is in love with "victory" more than you are in love with your club ....

then there is something that's called being gracious in winning (and not just in defeat)

No he puts it through by touching it with his trailing foot. Full speed sprint as well.

Courtois
Carvajal Rüdiger Militão Mendy
Tchouameni Camavinga
Bellingham
Rodrygo Mbappe Vini Jr

?
Edit: Valverde for Camavinga?

Rodrygo will not be a starter.

Valverde for Rodrygo and they'll adopt a similar set-up as they did vs City and tonight.

Gracias, cuate! One day we should talk about how underrated I am :p

Was just thinking about him, 6 CL medals and I don't think anyone would ever have him as the one of the best right backs in the world. But he gives his all every game for Real, even if he is a horrible shithouse, you have to appreciate how consistent he's been over the years.

Courtois
Carvajal Rüdiger Militão Mendy
Tchouameni Camavinga
Bellingham
Rodrygo Mbappe Vini Jr

Not a single groundbreaking passer amongst that midfield.
Modric and Kroos's are going to be really missed.

So we thinking:
Courtois
Carvajal Rüdiger Militão Mendy
Tchouameni
Valverde Camavinga
Bellingham
Mbappe Vini Jr

We scored directly from the corner kick didn't we?

If that was the same one, the initial corner was cleared to the edge of the box, which Sancho had possession of ready for a counter attack. He then passed it tamely to Kroos/Valverde, who then had a shot that got deflected for another corner.

So basically you should thank us for loaning Sancho to Dortmund, who contributed massively to Carvajal's goal and won you your 15th CL title.

I'd take Rodrigo at a cut price of 30m, which is fair.

Courtois
Carvajal Rüdiger Militão Mendy
Tchouameni Camavinga
Bellingham
Rodrygo Mbappe Vini Jr

?
Edit: Valverde for Camavinga?

Sounds about right.

Camavinga can also do a job as left-back. I think a replacement/back-up for Carvajal is a more pressing matter. Still not entirely sold on Bellingham but time's on his side.

M'bappé is quite shite in the middle and most effective when on the left. That's the biggest headache they'll have next season.

Thought it was obvious lads

I think Camavinga has the talent to develop into something along those lines but yeah they could really do with someone emerging with that profile, probably preferably Spanish for them as they’re becoming light on domestic and homegrown talent. Always thought they’d move for Enzo at some point though
