2024 U.S. Elections | Trump wins

The problem is that by definition half of the people in the US are of below average (median) intelligence, which keeps the Republican party afloat. It was the same problem in the UK with Brexit.

The argument that people are stupid doesn’t hold and it didn’t hold for brexit either.

They just want different things to you and I.

It is not a notion I would want to subscribe to as a political philosophy, but I can hardly think of a more compelling case for the argument that people are stupid than Brexit.

If I want to be more nuanced or analytical, I'd say people are rabidly xenophobic/racist and this makes them stupid.

It is obviously a bit more nuanced than voters being "stupid", but it is definitely a significant part of the equation! :p

The fact they re jumping through so many more dubious hoops to circumvent the will of the people should tell you how scared Donnie and co are to lose this election. And that should motivate everyone to make sure that they do. It has been a full on assault on the very core of our Democratic institutions for years now and not enough people are paying attention to the fact they re doing it piece by piece.

Another poll that shows a close senate race in Nebraska.

That chart is an absolute disaster for republicans, when Harris has closed the gap on multiple issues that they are supposed to win on.

This, and polls being close, doesn't quite add up for me, partisanship and all.

They’re Evangelical Christians, they definitely don’t want what you and I want.

Not very responsive to reason, but they’re not all stupid.

Here we go again… before every election, Republicans try to do something. After every election, they try to do something. Rinse, repeat.

Why can’t we as a country ever deal with issues once and for all? Why do we get into these endless loops? Nothing done on immigration, nothing done on guns, nothing done on childcare, nothing done to protect our right to vote, each time a state comes with a new election law, our electoral system is a mess, and so on. It’s the same every election.

Harris shouldn’t debate Trump. She should focus on traveling to swing states instead. She got a win two weeks ago. Don’t debate; nothing good will come out of it. Trump will do better this time. Don’t give him that opportunity.

If Trump doesn't win, will it kick off in the US? Like a mini civil war?
