I really think this is a road to nowhere. If your bar for candidates on one side is non-existent and the other is clean as a virgin baby, it just sets you up for failure. The playing field isn't level, I think some recognition of that has to be taken into account.
In my view, the two sides can't be compared since MAGA voters have been successfully gaslit into not believing any bad things Trump has previously done. Dem voters on the other hand, will always have a higher moral bar than what is acceptable on the right. That's not to say this news about Walz will be a game changer, but the Harris campaign won't want this to be a pattern in Walz's past.

In the 25 years or so that I studied or taught Economics, I don’t recall such a talk about recession that didn’t happen as we had over the past three years.
