It just hit me that the Republicans have only won the popular vote once since 1988 (Bush v Kerry). What a fecking candidate to turn things around with

Don't be naive. He'll run 2028, mark my words. Laws will be adjusted to allow it and the Trump fanbase will love it.
Nah.

He's already sundowning, he only ran to save himself from dying in prison. Now that he's achieved that, it's golf and junk food all the way while Vance and Musk run the country. His position is secure and one or more of his brood will be guaranteed support should they run for office, the Trump name after this win is political royalty in the GOP now.

Has Starmer issued a statement yet praising Britain and America’s shared values and the continuation of the ‘special relationship’?

On course to win the popular vote, EC, Senate and maybe even the House.

Just incredible.

So it’s the immigrants who are helping Germany and not Germans helping immigrants from a humanitarian standpoint?
Ideally, it would be both. Pracitcally, we're fecking up on both fronts.

This all kind of misses the point anyway.

Trump seemed to love Abe. Love Johnson. Hate Merkel.

In the end, his fundamental message to all of them was the same. He’s completely transactional and if you’re not American, he couldn’t care less. Pay more for your own defence (or pay us). Buy more of our stuff. Or else.

Johnson didn’t get a trade deal out of Trump and Starmer won’t either. Same as the EU. Mexico and Canada will do well to maintain theirs with the USA.

Does it have to be one and not the other?

I don’t want to open up a can of worms but as far as I’m aware, there’s questionable methodology about lumping all migrants together when it comes to economic benefit. Clearly, an already fluent individual young male coming into Germany from India and working as a software engineer has a completely different impact on finances and public services vs a non fluent family of 5 from Syria for instance. I don’t think defaulting to that economic argument is helpful when people are often seeing something different on the ground.

The humanitarian argument is of course something else entirely , though one I’m sadly not sure will garner much sympathy anymore in USA or Europe.

So you don’t think he’s these things?
Going by his other comments he obviously thinks being those things is perfectly fine.

Why mods don't just ban these posters I'll never know. Would anyone give these people the time of day in real life? I certainly wouldn't. All for different political views, draw the line at blatant fascism.

No, by normal people. Yet again the left wing rhetoric of racism is used when losing a discussion. Why do you think Vance
said what he said?

Probably because it’s impossible to get anywhere in the Republican Party now without following Trumps line.

Why do you think Vance called Trump an idiot, reprehensible and Americas hitler?

Ashworth is not an MP. Starmer couldn't stop them going, as long as no one from the Government went.

Of course he could stop them, he controls their social media output to and you had sitting MPs posting about being there.

If starmer didn't want labour members campaigning for harris, they wouldn't have been there.

I know ashworth is not an MP, he's an unofficial spokesman, which is why hes always on the TV when labour want a voice on there, and why it is patently ridiculous to pretend he just toddled off to advise harris' team without any input from the leadership of his party.

Again the left using the racist card. Give it a rest, just look at the demography in London.
Does changing demography mean that places are automatically re-named? News to me. Seems like something that racists would cook up.

This kind of campaigning has always occurred, this year the media seemed to make a big song and dance about it. There are that many MPs, I would be surprised if he could stop them unless he issued a specific order to MPs which I don't think he did.

The filthy “other” coming in and spreading their poison. RW nonesense rinse and repeat.
