It probably does have to do with the fact that she’s a woman. She mostly comes across well every time I’ve seen her speak - obviously not a stellar public speaker but she comes across as intelligent and well meaning. I don’t see what about her is so annoying, that her laugh and giggle gets to you?
I believe her history as a district and general attorney may have had a huge impact on minority men. Democrats shouldn't run one of those until the criminal justice system is fixed in the very distant future.

Such a stupid move from the Democratic Party to have her as a nominee.
Feels like Moyes at Utd.
Be mad at him all you want for looking like an utter embarrassment [and god did I despise him].

But why the hell hire him in the first fecking place?

I knew of her but had no opinion about her whatsoever.
The very few videos of her I've seen made me want to punch the screen.
And I don't remember a single thing she said except for that 'passage of time' schtick.
For all I know she might be the most brilliant person in the world, but she gave me such an annoying impression that I probably didn't listen to her.

I read recently that Mel Gibson said that she has the IQ of a lamp post and I gotta say that I get the sentiment,
even though she clearly is a smart and capable woman. That smirk, those gigglings...

Is it a secret that a lot of people vote based on such petty things that create an impression in one's mind,
rather than actual policies and track records?

It should have been a rather straightforward task to beat the abomination that is Trump in an election race.

I don't think this has to do with the fact that she's a woman.
I don't think that I get annoyed by her because she's a woman.
There's something off about her presence in front of a camera on many occasions.
Tulsi probably would have had a better shot at it. Gavin too.

Sad times.
I think the problem here might be you.

Question - why didn’t the Biden administration do better on immigration / border security these past four years? Aside from inflation and playing to the degenerate aspects of human psyche, that seems to really be what’s winning this for Trump.
This isn’t a problem that Biden created. Immigration has been an issue for more than 2 decades. Blaming it all on Biden is stupid but he made half the country fall for that. Trump will NOT solve this issue.

Secondly this is prolly the 5th time I’m posting this in this thread - for all his talk of rounding up illegals did you know he deported only 1.5m illegals which was less than both Obama and Biden.

Thirdly there was a bipartisan bill earlier this year which was huge and Trump cried foul and the Reps bent over backwards and followed him.

What I mean is that, as a matter of fact, it would be more ethnically divided if 90%+ of the ethnic minority population voted for just one party. What they’re voting for is another thing.
No. If you vote for a divisive bigot it's a sign of unity? Fair enough. We'll just park it there.

We’ll have Farage cock a hoop and fecking getting more extreme with his views. Other right wingers in this country will see this as more excuse to be more bigoted and racist with their views. Politics will become more and more toxic again. Outright racism will be the norm.

It probably does have to do with the fact that she’s a woman. She mostly comes across well every time I’ve seen her speak - obviously not a stellar public speaker and slightly generic in her speak some issues but she usually comes across as intelligent and well meaning. I don’t see what about her is so annoying, that her laugh and giggle gets to you? Maybe it’s due to the fact that in day age it’s more important to be notable rather than good. It’s better to be a meme than capable.

Yep, and Walz added the charm her campaign needed.

I’d say her biggest issue was/is a lack of a clear defining policy. There was no tent pole ambitious campaign policy.

Yeah, so I’m pretty sure 99% of his base have absolutely no idea what you are talking about.
Oh they absolutely don’t.

Which, again, brings out the spiteful side of me…

“Hey, good job guys, enjoy the higher prices that you would’ve known about if you’d cracked a goddamned book just once in your life”

Seems like they just thought the Trump stopped the immigration bill ankle was enough and they never had a clean response to the open border accusations of "Biden let in 6 million illegal immigrants".

Don't forget felon and rapist.

They'll just deny the rapist part of claim "lawfare" and going after a political opponent so fake charge. It's a completely different world they live in.

I also can't explain what annoys me about her, but the feeling was there right from the off.
there are many female politicians around the world to whom I don't react the same way, so it's not about the sex.

idk.

Not to mention the deleterious effect another Trump presidency will have on the politics of European counties, where right-wing groups constantly parrot American talking points.
And not just European countries. That’s why I feel deflated by this - it’s not just about the US. The effects of this win on the global political landscape will be huge. This type of politics and these type of values clearly work - and they’ll work even more going forward.

Don't worry, you ll grow to hate DC regardless of who's in the WH. Like everyone else before you, myself included.
I’ve been in DC twice in the last week and had a nice time both times. Went to warriors game last night and got nice and drunk with a friend last week

Legal permanent resident since the day I arrived to this country, citizen since 2007. More than a half of my life I have lived in United States. Not quite as American as John Wayne but working toward it. ;)
Voting for trump won't make you more American either, immigrant.

Donald Trump mocked a crippled person, bragged about sexual assault, got convicted of rape, held a German-American Bund Rally 2.0 in New York, and mimicked a blow job on a microphone…

But yeah, Kamala’s mannerisms, man…
It’s defo not because he has something against women.

When the current government is awful, many people will either not vote at all or vote against them.

When will people start to understand this basic principle of democracy?

All the whining over Trump that came before and will come on the future should he win is aimed at the wrong person, you can't change Trump, he's insane. Aim it towards the useless fecks looking like they're about to lose to him for the second time. What mistakes have they made very the past 4 years that have allowed him back in? That's where the anger should be directed.

Absolutely this. Are people surprised at all that Trump is leading? Win lose or draw, it is a damning indictment of the establishment. Whatever Trump’s faults are, there is so much disillusionment and faults with the current system. People say we are fecked with Trump, but are we not currently fecked?

Does it have to be one and not the other?
I suspect that there's a percentage of people that wouldn't vote for either.

Which is why I said that other people imo- male of female- would have fared better against fecking Trump.

all speculation though.

We are about to find out, aren’t we.

idk.

What are your feelings about the things that have been mentioned about Trump? Rapist, misogynist, racist, fascist, lies more than any politician we’ve ever seen, and just plain stupid.

But no, Kamala’s mannerisms are what needs to be focused on.

Honestly, it’s hard to believe you’re sincere.

Utterly depressing news to wake up to. It hits differently this time with a little boy that will be 2 years old a week today. I just can’t help but fear for the world he’s growing into. What’s going to become of Ukraine?

Tell that to the people though. Sire, you've outperformed the G7 and it makes a good headline...

What's the reality for the people on the ground though? The people who are out voting tonight?
Well, the reality for me when I voted today was that I have an understanding of basic economic concepts and recent history.

But yes, you’re right, the average Trump voter likely does not have said cognitive abilities and therefore are unreachable by reasonable means.
