2024 Summer Olympics (Paris)

Isn't Saint Lucia just beaches and mountains? Where did she learn to run like that?!

Richardson wasn’t even close. The Americans aren’t having a great night on the track.

Neita so unlucky to just miss out on bronze. Yet *another* 4th place for GB

Neita 0.04 of Richardson, these fine margins keep fecking over our athletes.

That’s a reasonably big gap at 100m. Alfred being half a track clear made the gaps for the places seem look a lot smaller!

I think a dry track and no rain and she probably gets much closer to the WR

That 100m women’s record finally going will feel an astonishing day. Flo-Jo winning the 88 Olympics is probably my earliest athletics memory. Hard to imagine how many great 100m runners have come and gone since without her record falling.

Ledecky’s stroke is just so amazing to see. Much more relaxed kick yet is going at the same speed as Titmus who is still kicking normally. Should be a real interesting finish

Too good! Pulled away with relative ease at the end.

Does the schedule not work for the top male 400m runners to do the mixed relay? For example, Hudson-Smith for Britain probably turns that bronze to a gold.
Just a choice - Doom, who did the lead leg for Belgium, will be running the 400 as will Klaver from the Dutch for instance. Plenty do both and you don't have to run the same team in the semi and the final

I think with MHS and Dobson they probably think they have realistic medal chances so have sat them out and let the others do it. May seem silly if neither of them medal.

They should stop providing them altogether. Imagine the world records falling all over the gaff in 20 years time.
There was one report about an Olympian admitting to how much boinking is going on, he said, "her face was a 7, but her body was a 20" (on the scale of 1-10). Humanity demands these physically perfect specimens procreate across national borders!

Yeah, I see the heats are tomorrow so it would be running Saturday, Sunday, Tuesday, Wednesday. Probably just think that’s a bit too much if chasing a gold medal in the individual.

The decathlon scoring looks super confusing, the lead guy is miles back but is apparently still going to get gold

Am I imagining it or are the US having a poor Olympics relative to their usual standards?

Not a spectator friendly sport, but damn impressive. The closest we get to the original ideal of being good at everything?

These decathlon runners look like slugs compared to the specialist runners but they are still traveling at like 20Kph after 2 days of everything while I am dying at 15KPH.

After 3 seconds.

That's the Norwegian way. We're far behind the big countries on most things, but still winning!

I’m proud to that Katie Ledecky is from my home state. What an athlete.

Hustle with a legendary finish.
