2022 US Elections

Whilst that is in the window of possibilities its surely far more likely that they loose one or both of the house / senate and Biden ends up a lame duck as the dems will no doubt fracture even more if they cant get legislation passed and the question of who runs in 2024 comes to the fore. throw on top of that one or two obstructive republican majority house / senate and I would guess a matter of time before they try to impeach Biden for something

I don't think Biden will face any serious primary challengers unless disaster overtakes him. He has the advantage of being the incumbent and has beaten Trump once already, which is what matters to the Dems. Sanders said he won't run again and the next generation can afford to wait. The Dems have an easier choice than the GOP.

I think the GOP already put their money on DeSantis.

A Biden vs. DeSantis match is most definitely an unknown. My biggest fear is that the SOB from Florida can and will resort to much dirtier tactics than what Trump used while going off with similarly grotesque lies.

Former colleagues think she started going rogue during the pandemic.

Isolated from her co-workers, Lake became enmeshed in far-right viewpoints about the coronavirus, including pushing unproven treatments such as hydroxychloroquine for the virus.--

I swear that she would have been better off reading books and accounts about how people coped with past crises like wars and pandemics. Being someone who is always interested in knowing more about history as a personal hobby, I personally found comfort in stories about people enduring and surviving the 1940 Blitz in London. It was good stuff to read when we were in lockdown in the first few months of the COVID-19 pandemic, and those kept me sane.

The Monkeypox outbreak has been handled quite poorly, especially considering there is a somewhat workable vaccine as well as medicine that's effective for managing some of the worst of the symptoms.

Got a feeling it's a layup for the republicans to point out during the elections. After all the criticism around covid, failing the first test immediately after is not a good look.

To them it’s a “gay disease”, so they are probably worried that showing a government feckup that hurt people would be a boost to democrats with their christian base.

only partial sarcasm which is depressing.

It'll be a question of how clever the campaign teams are. They can easily play both sides - that ultra conservative Christian base you're both referring to will happily ignore certain facts to fit the narrative of their party.

But this isn't about far left or far right. It's a chance to get votes of the arguably most important demographic - the middle.

Will be interesting to see how it gets twisted, by either side. Both parties are full of it .. it's all just class warfare covered up :wenger:

The difference being one side is actively discussing actual warfare as an election strategy.

So it appears Alito and his cronies aborted the GOP's enthusiasm advantage with Dobbs.

God help them if the Dems hold the house and add more than two seats in the Senate.

I believe he's thinking of Jews, who follow the old testament rules.

Otherwise women would be isolated on their periods and if you had a rash in your beard you'd be locked in a room with no food or water for 7 days in Christian communities.

You know how his type only know 1 amendment? Well, they know about as many Bible verses, too.

Stoning people is all fun and games until you get off at the wrong bus stop in Israel in the wrong outfit and almost get killed. Guess he'd find it excessive, they'd just point to the same Old Testament.

Talking about human civilization* might require an asterisk.
