2020 US Elections | Biden certified as President | Dems control Congress

See I disagree with that, too. The US is polarised enough that walking an election is no longer possible. He barely won it against a historically unpopular candidate in Hillary Clinton.

I think we'd have had a similarly tight election even without COVID. The virus itself was and is a political issue in the US: attitudes towards it is very much predicted by party affiliation.
I agree with that broadly. Bith sides have voters locked in with very little in between. But the EC would have exaggerated any slight depression. In Dem performance. That's just the way it is.

Don't bite, I'm a novice in American politics but aren't the results usually in on election night? When are we expecting the results?
Basically, states counting votes days or even weeks after Election Day is completely normal - it's just that usually the electoral votes aren't this close. So for example California always takes a long time to count, it's just no one cares because it goes to the Democrats anyway. This time, its highly contested battleground states that can't finish counting in one day and that obviously put the issue into focus.

Really hope when this is all over that CNN changes it's name to Fox or something like that and start to Employ hot anchor women.

Bruh Trump literally wanted to make it okay for employers to discriminate based on sexuality. Its not a huge leap of faith to assume most Trump voters are homophobic.

It absolutely is a huge leap of faith.

An enormous number of US voters are single issue voters. If sexuality is not their single issue, then you can't infer homophobia.

General amusement in terms of polls. Outcome has no effect on me anyway and Biden is hardly a great choice.

Moronic.

Try telling that to a desperate 17 year old girl who can't get an abortion because of Trump. Or countless of other scenarios for that matter.

Ah OK thank you, so it will be a while yet, probably not even in the next few days then if it's that close

I have two American families in my neighbourhood, how do I know which one is the sexist, racist and evil one. I don't want to shit on the wrong car.

Why? It's all rather funny to see the amount of experts that couldn't be further off the target....Prior to the 16 election there were financial experts claiming the trade and world economy would collapse if Trump became president. Still waiting.

It really is on knife's edge isn't it? To me it looks like Biden's most likely path to victory is Georgia and Wisconsin.

I actually think there's a point their. The reason why trump has a chance is because Biden is a poor candidate.

If the Democrats had put forward a half decent candidate with an ounce of charisma this election would be a landslide.

Trump winning is certainly the worse case scenario but Biden winning is just a less worse candidate rather than a good candidate.

This is basically 2018 redux, Tony Evers was down the whole time and a 3 am Milwaukee dump put him on top. Ended up winning by 29k votes.

There have been ample examples of why. If you don't know why Trump is bad news then you need to educate yourself on American politics and society.
