Same poll that favored Trump in 2016 when most others were calling the race in favor of Hillary.

Also interesting to see it covers all four days of the Republican convention.

@oneniltothearsenal @Rado_N what is your opinions is the best newspaper out there in US? Something that is relatively less unbiased and in most occasions a good and comprehensive source of information? May not be perfect, but the best out there.
For me, USA Today is the best, most centered newspaper in my country. What one needs to realize is to take away the editorial page bias as that is what drives the perceived slant of a paper. For example, NYT is castigated as a liberal rag, but can be conservative in its editorial pages. WSJ has a very conservative editorial board. USA Today’s editorial board leans left, but the rest of the paper is pretty spot on.

I can’t really offer you a well informed opinion on that to be honest. I always grab a USA Today when I’m in the country, and often read the online versions of NYT and WAPO but not in sufficient detail to have a firm view on their slants.

I saw Trump juxtaposed the American dream with socialism in his speech. That's hilarious. The American dream is about social mobility, and the last time I saw data, Denmark did best globally in that regard, and the US was very behind. So the American dream requires more socialism, if anything.

I know stating this doesn't help anything, I won't ever convince any GOP voters, and that people will happily go and quote anecdotal evidence ('look at this one guy!') to refute solid social data. But the myth of the American dream is a pet peeve of mine, so there.

Just the simple fact alone he s bragging about protecting coverage of pre existing medical conditions and protecting social security and Medicare (even though he obviously has been doing the opposite) make it even more laughable - there are hardly more socialistic things than that. Not to mention the funding of police, and a lot of other things.

Considering that Denmark has the highest social mobility in the world it's really grimm how much I managed to drop down the ladder.

I think hes going to win

I think so as well, unfortunately. I don't want him to, but I feel like his outright racism/prejudice and divisiveness are more popular than we think. I hope the American people prove me wrong.

I agree that he will win and most Americans don't care about his outright racism/prejudice and divisiveness.

They do care about economics and the economy was strong for most of his presidency and now, a lot of them like getting free checks signed by Trump (though UBI is a leftist policy and Trump's actions are a large cause of Covid causing so much damage in the US to begin with).

The riots are also not helping Biden and the dems with the suburban voters; the Dems got an uptick when the initial protests happened but BLM actually being an anarchist movement and derailing into that in a lot of places has been steadily causing damage.

Biden would have won if the polls had happened in April to July but his chances are fading.

It's not a newspaper but I trust the Atlantic Monthly more than any newspaper.

Great thread here:

This nails it.

Sadly I genuinely believe that this election is going to be completely corrupted by Trump’s GOP. A combination of voter suppression and outright fraud and digital attacks on voting machines will win it for Trump. They won’t even bother with the investigation this time, they will have won and the DOJ and Senate will investigate the seats the democrats actually won to rub it in their faces.

I follow American politics far more than the UK. Both administrations currently in office make me sick. I can't explain how much I'll be invested in you guys come November 3rd. I constantly remind people online not to rely on polls and think it's a given, they must vote.

There's nothing more I'd give than to gorge on a huge plate of Schadenfreude for the orange shitstain.
