And some folks used to say it's gonna get worse if he gets re elected...at this point how much worse is it going to get? Tbf election aside this attack on USPS falls right in line with his attacks on public education, public broadcasting, public parks, public infrastructure, social services, public health, and basically everything else that is usually at the core foundation of a strong representative democracy and functional government.

Always interesting to see what is uncovered when the onion is peeled a couple of layers.

I'm still not sure if Eboue is truly the bitter man he appears to be or is just trolling us all this time. The Eboue enigma I guess. It does make me feel like I'm an optimist, which is much appreciated.

currently watching msnbc talk about "an amazing moment for the fourth estate". apparently some reporter asked trump if he regrets lying and trump just moved on to the next question.

it was truly epic. hes done for now. we got him guys

i browse and post on this thread which you correctly avoid, but you watch msnbc which i couldn't even do if i tried. who is the bigger loser?

Amazing anyone would still vote for Trump no matter your political persuasion. Who could be worse? I'd vote for my cat or a tub of economy lard first.

He wouldn't even qualify to apply for IT technician in any government agency. And now this guy is running for Congress? Cantona bless North Carolina.

Biden picking Harris has completely knocked the wind out of Trump's strategy. He is resorting to 4th grade insults now.

Is there anything being done to protect the USPS?

He's the American version of Dries Van Langhenhove. He's an independent candidate for a extremist far right party in Belgium and has a seat in the Flemish parliament. He looks like the perfect son in law, is eloquent and is very popular.

He's also a racist scumbag, laughs publicly on twitter with disabled people, is founding member of a fascist organization and is a holocaust denier.

For anyone interested: https://www.diggitmagazine.com/column/model-behind-schild-en-vrienden

Don't punch left is obviously wrong since you can win by punching left, but Biden is punching centre too and this is glorius. Crush the moderates and centre-leftists and incrementalists from he right, Joe. The left has lost but the centre can still lose
The intolerant Bernie bros were beaten and the fakes who paper over all differences inside the party may be swep away too, and that is a clear positive development. Vote for Joe for the long-term!

Apart from the fact that this dude has hitler jugend written all over his face, I don't agree that it's weird to have visiting Hitlers vacation home on your bucketlist. I would be very interested in visiting it for its historical significance.

I agree, the historical significance is definitely there. On the whole, this kid is definitely not the bastion of virtue he has been peddled to be.

Let covid spread unchecked, dismantle the post office, democrats stay home as they have no desire to actively hurt people by standing in lines, the trump cult come out in droves, the next President of the United States......Donald J Trump.

I would not be surprised that once the gop get a sense that the post office has been sufficiently destoyed all this delay election talk will spin back to "must hold in person ballot voting"

Wonder how much the polls matter when everything is being done to make it as easy as possible to overrepresent the cult trump voter who will happily stand in line and infect 3 people as long as they can vote for trump, and the potential biden voter doesnt want to risk their or other lives and stays home.

Good video on polling vs anecdotal evidence

Trump supporters with their heads in the sand

While absurd and not the least important, let's be honest, this is more likely to get under his skin than pretty much anything else.
He's quite rich. I don't think he'll worry.

He really was 'owned' when Obama gave him what for in that famous moment years ago. He just carried on. He doesn't care. Why should he?

He is thin skinned but he's also aware enough to know that none of this bullshit can hurt him.

This Is Where I Stand
The power of conservative radicalism in an age of upheaval.

By David Brooks

Today, we’re in the middle of another historic transition when dramatic change is necessary if we are to preserve what we love about America. The crises tearing our society are well known: economic inequality, racial injustice, dissolving families and communities, a crisis of legitimacy.

To some, this feels like a revolutionary moment. In Commentary, for example, Abe Greenwald argues that the radicals have seized control. They are pushing radical agendas (No police! No rent!). Worse, they undermine the liberal fundamentals of our democracy — the belief that democracy is a search for truth from a wide variety of perspectives; the belief that America is a noble experiment worth defending.

I am not as alarmed. I’m convinced that the forces that brought Joe Biden the nomination are far more powerful than a few extremists in Portland and even the leftist illiberals on campus. I’m hopeful that if given power, Biden, Kamala Harris, Nancy Pelosi and Chuck Schumer will forge a new conservative radicalism.

They have spent their lives within the liberal system, understand politics, understand radicalism’s advantages and dangers. They’re drawing support from an astonishingly wide swath of the ideological spectrum. I’m convinced that if Donald Trump is defeated, revolutionary zealotry will fade as debates over practical change and legislation dominate.

Famous idiot David Brooks with a clearer read on the situation than Bernie and other progressives.

Edit - to clarify, I do not think (like he compares) that Biden is going to be George Washington or Lincoln or even Teddy Roosevelt. I do not think incremental change leading to potential reform can solve many of these crises especially given the institutional blocks, *and* the time-bound problem of climate change. But I do think that it has and will continue to dominate the politics of the supposed left-leaning party. And I do think that these figures (Obama, Biden, Pelosi, Schumer) have shown that they know who their internal enemies are, which they don't really show when facing the Republicans.

The wegothim sarcastic bullshit is getting tedious. No-one is claiming he will resign in disgrace because he doesn't have enough followers. The piece of site should be mocked at every possible opportunity though.

WTF are the primary voters doing then? 52% are crying that they wanted sommeone else while 60% actually voted for him. This is the guy you wanted!

For reference, 56 for Clinton is almost exactly the votes she got in the primary.

After multiple fantastic bourbons and driving through rural Wisconsin today (not in that order) I have come to a few conclusions:
1) the majority of rural white voters don't give any shits about which candidate will benefit them personally
2) the majority of rural white voters are fukcing racist pieces of shit
3) i am terrified for this next election
4) i miss the south (only for the bourbon and bbq)
