On the contrary, Evangelicals have laid their cards out. It’s nothing to do with family values, morals and being a good person of faith. They've tied their flag to regressive issues like anti-LGBT, anti-abortion and anti-immigration. You can’t appeal to these people, you have to outnumber them.

Spot on. I've tried with family members. No matter how the convos go it always circles back to an original starting point.

"Gays are an abomination, Bible says so." despite homosexuality existing throughout the animal kingdom and existed when the bible was authored.
"Immigrants are taking our jobs," yet they know not a single person that has lost a job this way.
"Killing babies, up to the day before birth!" while I understand it's a touchy subject they simply cannot wrap their heads around allowing a federal/state body to govern one's individual body.

The dopes at CNN just only now recognizing the significance off the Perdue-Ossoff race finishing at below 50%.

So in the last two PA batches:

- Trump got 9k votes.
- Biden got 37k.

Does the special election take place on the same day? How likely is it in that scenario that you either win or lose both considering partisan nature of the voters?

Absolutely. There will simply not be enough defections from them to us to matter. No way to start reasoning to these people now, wait til there is more palpable pressure out on them on a constant basis n

To me it looks like the clearest Dem strategy from here on out is figuring out why they got a smaller mix of the hispanic vote (which is diverse in itself, regionally and in other ways) than 2016 and figure out what can be potentially rectified without it being a loss to other parts of the electorate that also voted Dem this time.

Not sure if its the same day but they would both likely be in early Jan.

The advantage the Dems would have is that they would have time to fundraise, organize, and bring in the heavy artillery (Obama etc.) to get out the vote in Jan. Control of the Senate would literally be at stake, so you can bet the house both sides will go all in to win.

Looking forward to that tweet where Trump misspells count and tweets STOP THE cnut!
Don't remind me!!

I was tallying some counts over a skype chat with a female colleague at my new workplace, around 4 years back. I typed "Your count is not looking good at all" or something of that sort. I missed an all important "O".

Thankfully, she didn't bring it up ever :D

The GA outstanding ballots are closer to 60k than 50k. 9,705 was added and bring the lead down by 4419, that’s another batch hitting the target 72.7-26.3.

Assuming a conservative 55k left to count, Biden needs to win 2:1 to come out 400(!) votes ahead. Still think there’s a reporting lag somewhere though, part of Fulton 28k vote dump was missing in this calculation.

For comparison this is the 1992 Election, Clinton owes his presidency to Ross Perot, last time the map was this much blue

Babble thumpers are truly a virulent strain in the evangelicals, but most evangelicals do unfortunately possess this trait to some extent.

Actually nothing wrong with having personal sets of beliefs as long as you can separate between personal beliefs and the laws.

What's ok for you might not be OK for someone else. Just no need to enforce it.

I can undetstand how religious person feels about something they strongly disagree. Kinda like how we disagree with burqa and stoning.

I'm not saying its ok. I have my own sets of belief. But their rejection and clinging to the leader that can fight for their belief is understandable

The argument isn't to dictate policies to their desires though. Biden ran better with religious voters far more than previous Democratic nominees despite his platform and party being heralded as anti-God, pro-abortion, pro-LGBTQ, pro-diversity etc. So it can't have been 'religious right' voters who went to him as opposed to normal religious people who live to their faith but aren't bigoted to others. The conservative commentary is Biden just talking on their level about his religious faith was a clever move. It may have netted him enough pro-life people who aren't fanatics to vote Democrat to cut into Trump's margins among the uber evangelicals.

Yeah sorry, I thought you were referring specifically to the extremists, rather than just socially conservative Christian voters generally. The former won't budge regardless of how much the Republican candidate personally transgresses their ethics, or how much the Democrat candidate abides by them. The latter are definitely targetable, but even then it seems you basically need the perfect storm of a very abrasive (to say the least) Republican like Trump and a very 'safe' Democrat like Biden for them to budge. Personally I doubt that the stars will align like that again in the near future.

They've been your daddy for quite a while now buddy, long before Trump took office.
Trumps policies have actually made china stronger than they were before. TPP was supposed to create a trading block that would counteract the influence of China but Trump went ahead with his simplistic all trade is bad policy and withdrew from TPP. Also, he's done feck all to help Uyghyrs in Xinjiang and has been pretty quiet on Hongkong. China have been steadily increasing their influence throughout the world through the belt and road initiative so, I really don't get how you think Trump has made any significant progress on China.

If you are really religious and believe in The Bible, I don't know how you could even vote for Trump. The Bible is nothing but a photo-op for him

Honestly. They said absolutely feck all yesterday. Maybe mentioned it like once in passing.

E: In fact, wasn't it Santorum of all people?? Says it all.

Pretty mad comparing West Virginia and Virginia then and now. Virginia's pretty much safe Democrat now, West Virginia's probably Trump's best state.
