Problem is, that everything else would include a desolated press and a destruction of the world economy.
The US political system has too many checks and balances to allow him to do anything that drastic.

Opting for risky dangerous tactics to destroy "evil" from within is a disastrous strategy. We tried that here in Egypt and it backfired terribly.

They have a functioning a democracy which will see someone replace him in 4 years.

Turmpistas want someone who'll change things by acting on their 'id'. Once it's proven that's not the way to run things, it'll quieten them down.

Not sure if its being misinterpreted, as in she enjoyed speaking to Trump supporters so much in PA that she decided to do it again in NC.
That's what I thought, about halfway through one of her sentences, but how she ended it made me doubt that.

In fairness, given the language barrier I'm pretty sure that's what she meant, but her words say otherwise

Or under his rule, the GOP will be emboldened to continue with their systematic voter suppression, eroding at freedom of the press and dissent, ginning up white nationalism to the point the fringe groups like the KKK or Westboro Baptist Church gets a seat at the table. Disenfranchised minorities will cut themselves off completely from the process, which leaves power completely at the hand of the alt-right and eventually leads to a South American style military dictatorship.

It's always dark before it goes completely black. Accelerationism never works. Guys like this should be clapped in madhouses.
The GOP don't like Trump. Heck, most prospective Trump voters don't like him. They're voting for him because he's the de facto Republican candidate and has a momentum behind him which forces their partisanship. I'd like to kill the momentum of craziness or it will keep rolling on. The legislative and judicial branches won't let anything too bad happen.

The GOP of 1960-80 didn't like Reagan uniformly. Nixon openly disdained and referred to him as a know nothing right wing kook. Now all we hear about is that 'shining city on a hill' and 'children of Reagan'.

Never underestimate the zeal of an extremist ascendant faction within a larger institution.

Reagan was a President that achieved things. That's why he's held in high regard. Trump will never be able to do that unless he tempers his craziness. Either way, his base will have the wind taken from their sails.

The Zizek fanboys really get on my tits.

I dated a Slovenian for a while and it was insufferable. If he said something, it was like talking to a devout Christian about the Bible. No possibility that he might be wrong.

Funnily one of my best friends, who is very left wing, even more than I, absolutely loves him; but he at least acknowledges that he holds Zizek up as this sacred cow, and actually disagrees with him on the above video.
I don't agree with him totally. I just think that 4 years of stifled growth followed by 30 or 40 years of more left leaning politics will be good for the US. And probably the rest of the world too, if it leads to a nation that no longer believe in its own exceptionalism.

He didn't achieve crap in his first 4 years. Unemployment was 7.8% at the time of his re-election in 1984, when he won by a 49 states landslide. Politicians gain legitimacy within their base very quickly. Obama was a first term Senator at the time of his election, Bill Clinton governor of a far flung Southern state. Both left/will leave office the undisputed top dog in their party.

With all due respects, your assertions are baseless. There are tons of evidence that cultural anxieties and racial animus are the driving factors of the GOP coalition. It won't go away even if Drumpf is a total failure in office. The chance of them consolidating their hold on states legislatures and further disenfranchise people is YUGE. Which makes 8 years of this clown very likely.

Those anxieties have always existed.

Watch the Republican Party shift to the left, now. If Trump gets elected, the shift would be even more drastic.

The reality of Brexit has hit home on this side of the Atlantic in a similar fashion. Unfortunately, there's no going back.

So did the Weimar republic.

And so did the Turks, but not anymore. http://www.bbc.com/news/world-europe-37883006

You don't resort to such tactics with far right demagogues. Even a mature Democracy like America would be on an edge!

So you are not a fan of El Sisi?

I was talking about electing the MB back in 2012 - I didn't vote for Morsi though- , but yeah; it's hard to be a fan of an authoritarian idiot with an IQ of 80 max.

The US has three strong branches of government and no Article 48.

This is getting ridiculous now. They've been on a path towards full on ethno-nationalism for decades. The biggest faction within their caucus is a collection of anti government Christian fundamentalists - the House Freedom Caucus. Show me a single piece of evidence that they are moving left, or inclined that way at all? Worth noting that moderate Republicans are a dying breed within their own party, primaried by the extremists or lose the trending liberal seats to Democrats, so where's the pushback against white nationalism from their own?

All true. When Trump loses the GOP will be engulfed in a further round of civil war. The Christian fundies, white male nationalists and alt-right will blame the defeat on a combination of vote rigging, media bias and corruption, and betrayal by the Republican moderates for not giving Trump enough support.

The likely result will be a further erosion of the moderates, a Republican party that swings even further to the looney right and thus a Republican party - due to evolving population demographics - in terminal decline. In the end, the Christian fundies, white male nationalists and alt-right will become more of a very nasty movement and less a political party. The FBI will have their work cut out for years in dealing with the upsurge in 'militia' actions and political murders.

There's a letter going around asking Paul Ryan to postpone his re-election. It's not hard to envisage a scenario that Freedom Caucus and the rest of reelected House and Senate are even more aligned to alt right ensuring gridlock.

But hey, let's trust the gut feel rhetoric based on absolutely nothing that Trump will destroy right and move the party to the left.

Apparently, FBI is Trumpland.

Clinton clearly saying that ISIS are funded by Qatari/Saudi government (and not donators) making them USA's objective allies in Syria and the Middle East in general is also not scandalous of course !
I'm sure that connects to the art project dinner somehow in your mind

Yeah it all connects and sums up the danger to the world that is Hillary. Not to mention being backed by war criminal GW Bush, but from a war criminal to another it shouldn't be a surprise.

What part do you think the lizard people play in all this?

You can go through the emails and reports yourself but your arrogance and "I know it all" attitude is blinding you.

So go back to watch your favorite show on CNN, and keep repeating what the banks financed corporate media tells you to say... sheep.
