Incidentally the classic analysis of the different layers of action which may drive political decision-making was written about the Cuban Missile Crisis - Essence of Decision https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Essence_of_Decision

I have no idea how it holds up against the literature on the subject published since, but it's a provoking way of coming to terms with the different factors, well worth a read if you come across it. The author basically outlines three possible, but seemingly incompatible, paradigms through which to explain how the crisis played out the way it did. I'm sure there are some Cafe members here who know it better than me, @Carolina Red maybe?

We actually did read it in a Poly Sci course I took lol

In my opinion, the three theories taken together go a long way to explaining the full scope of events. Any one analysis should be taken as part of the analysis of the situation and not an analysis as a whole. By looking at all three together and synthesizing them, I think you can explain many world events at the macro and micro level fairly accurately.

Apply the three analysis models to say... The US involvement in Libya, or the US initial reluctance to fight ISIS and I think you can come to a good understanding of how things played out.
 
Hillary was just on Fox live and answered questions to the press. She seems completely unconcerned with it all. Storm in a tea cup and much ado about nothing.

I agree to a point, but you can see how uncomfortable she is at the very end where he tries to kiss and cuddle her, she can't get away quick enough. I also agree it shows him to be a crude, rude, obnoxious and sexist pig, but there is nothing in it really, it seems like clutching at straws.

So, you are telling me this is HRC telling that the US gouvernment should have rigged the election rather than backing up Hamas more? As someone involved in actual (state level) gouvernment, I've got to ask you what you think what foreign policy is.

Btw, there's nothing corrupt about that statement, unless you don't know what corrupt means. But since you will vote Trump, I question your intelligence anyways, so this doesn't matter.

First of all, I'm not American so I can't vote, and If I were I wouldn't vote for the yellow-haired angry trainwreck. As it happens I'm in the Bernie/Jill Stein camp but keep spouting your nonsense.

And if you used your brain a little you'd recollect that this is a somewhat awkward revelation considering her accusations of Russia allegedly trying to influence the US vote, yet you have her retrospectively going a step further by openly suggesting that another country should rig elections to their benefit.

Also cut the "if you knew foreign policy" crap, time and time again on this forum you come across as an insufferable, condescending petulant excuse of a poster.

The likely future-president has openly advocated rigging elections in another country. If your own folks don't see anything wrong with this then I really despair with the state of US democracy (though mind you I've despaired long before this).

Yeah, i knew of him alright man & the whole Hilary email clearance. Always thought he was decent enough chap - he's been quite in limelight for an FBI chief, which i always thought was pretty weird. It's not a job i'd like the world to know i do to be honest - you're a massive target then.

Apologies for my ignorance, but i didnt the know the President appoints FBI chiefs - i suppose he appoints the CIA Director aswell?!

No I'm not the least bit surprised actually. Just think it makes her accusations of Russian interference in the US election all the more unfortunate considering the precedence.

But it seems the common theme here is to vehemently mock or downplay any allegation that questions Hillary's integrity. The fact of the matter is the US has two tragic candidates for the most powerful post going in the world right now, yet one of them is given a free pass on the mere virtue she's not as bad her opponent.
