All these polls are basically doing is telling Clinton light voters not to go vote - her vote and position as POTUS is safe. Not what you would want in the swing states where there is 1-2% in things.

Usually low propensity voters are compensated with bandwagon effect + opponent being depressed.

Pretty much all polls show Rs likelihood to vote dropping. Talk of rigging doesn't help as well.

I've justread an article by a writer called Eliot Weinberger which gives the impression that Trump was the sanest republican candidate !

Kept checking this thread to see if there was any activity. Stopped watching the game as early as the first half. I'm sure i wasn't alone.

Out of all the amazing tweets there have been during this exceedingly long election season, this one just may be my favourite. It's priceless! (especially pic 3)

This is true and the mistake I made. Plus, online and phone polls were averaging very differently, and it was assumed that phone polls would be the more accurate, as they had been in the GE (this proved incorrect).

My facebook feed has a quite a number of people willing to vote for 3rd party candidates, i'm not sure if this is picking up steam elsewhere, but lately I see it quite often - to "disrupt the establishment" and what not.

From my very little understanding of how US Votes are calculated and weighted - a vote for Stein or Johnson is pretty much wasted, right?
But could someone explain this in greater detail?

The Trump people probably thought Contra was a good thing, as in the Nicaraguan rebels who Reagan supported 1980s against the Marxist Sandinistas.

Sounds like internals are looking fun

Donald Trump’s campaign manager Kellyanne Conway acknowledged the Republican nominee’s latest dip in the polls.

“We are behind,” Conway said on Meet the Press.

Trump has fallen behind rival Hillary Clinton, who is up by double digits in some recent polls. Trump’s dip comes largely from disapproval of his treatment of women and his refusal to say whether he will accept the results of the election.

Conway said the shortfall in polls is due to Clinton’s other advantages over Trump.

“She has a former president, happens to be her husband, campaigning for her,” she said. “The current president and first lady, vice president—all more popular than she can hope to be. And she’s seen as the incumbent.”

Conway also walked back Trump’s threats from Saturday, when he said he would sue the women who have accused him of sexual misconduct. Multiple women over the last month have alleged Trump inappropriately touched or kissed them without consent in events spanning decades. Trump has repeatedly denied the claims.

“He’s just, I think, putting people on notice, that they can’t just falsely accuse them,” Conway said. “He has said, ‘None of this has happened, they’re all fabrications and lies.'”

I am pretty sure there is no consolidated strategy meeting in Trump campaign anymore. Everyone including Trump just seem to go out there and say whatever suits them best.

100%. Save Yourself mode is fully engaged. It's remarkable that more haven't completely jumped ship at this stage.

As an English teacher, I am horrified by the way he mangles conditionals :D
I meant more the blend of simplicity and naivity of his claims but understand where you're coming from, too. I'm guilty yelling at the telly when politicians or journos don't speak proper German.

Who watches the shower of shit that is Fox News?

Never heard O'Malley speak but he speaks very well.
